Gina's POV

I woke up to see Greenie, staring down at me with crossed arms.
His eyes were narrowed and his face the usual, blank.

I frowned at him, my eyes an exact copy of his, I hoped.
I felt light headed and my body ached very severely.
I opened up my mouth, about to spill out questions when a sharp beeping sound rung loudly in my head, slapping the revered moment of obvious pain away from my mind.

My head stung painfully and I clutched each side, trying to suppress the pain in my head, tight.
It, however, only rang louder in my head.
Like a screeching sound trying to tear a hole through my mind, only to ring louder inside.

Then...I began to remember.
The memories rushing in like a herd of runaway stampeders.

Fire....fire in the tent..

'Mia?....'

Burnt things every where....

'Mia?...what's happening?...'

My skin.... ashen....

'Mia...please I beg you, help me!...please....'

The clothes....the dress...

'Mia, where are you?'

The rejection....
Mate......
Marcus.....

'Mia.... please don't leave me too!..'

Run......
Rogues.....
Pain......

I was crying, the mild dampness on my face, an evidence of recurring episodes of the screeching sound attack my psychologic tranquility, if at the least.
It was stinging my brain, presuming a pounding phase going on in there, I couldn't think... nothing.

I fell to my knees, still clutching my head.

'Gina?....'
Mia's voice was faint, too faint for a self conscious volume.

'Mia, what's happening?...
Aren't all these my memories?, why then is it this painful?,
What's going on?.'

'Gina?....I can't hear you properly......oh Gosh, we're losing contact, I can't feel you as much....I feel as if I'm slipping.....Listen, I need to tell you these right now...'

'But how?.....
How can we be losing contact?!, This hasn't happened before has it?
Something's definitely wrong.....'

'Gina listen please.... you're getting farer....
These phases will die down soon. It's part of your mutation.
If we're lucky, I'll hear you again.
And if we're not, you might lose your wolf. Your powers, your scenting, everything!!.
Remember I said we wouldn't be able to shift before?, Turns out this is part of the reason.....
Your body is evolving past the normal wolf and I fear this might be our last time....'

'What!! I don't get it.
How can I evolve past the normal Werewolf gene?.
Mutating?.
What is 'this' ?.
What do you mean I'd lose you?
I can't grow past a wolf, can I?'

'Gina?....Gina can you hear me?...
I can't even hear you anymore?
If you can, listen clear, this rogue site is at stake right now. Our mate is coming, he's coming to clear them off, to take you back?....
And we can't let them, I don't want that, you don't want that.
Warn Greenie....they have to stop these, if not, every one could die!.
You can take a deep breath, our senses seem to have increased somehow I don't know.
Smell them...
Hear them...
Please Gina, don't let these rogues be at mercy...
And I'm very sorry, I'm going to have to block out your memories for now.... you'll realize later....
Please Gina, you have to hear all these, I can't hear you, We're......'
Her faint voice was drained out.

We lost contact.
____________________

POV

He watched her clutch her head tightly.
Questioning worriedly within him...
'what was wrong....
Why was she so different....
Why so mysterious and pained.....
What had she hidden within.....'

So far, she'd exceeded all the others' thoughts.
Her presence was still yet indecisive, previewing she'd survived a full dose of highly concentrated silver after just a week of unconsciousness.

He furrowed his brows, his heart beat slightly thumping in concern.
He hated this.
He didn't want to care.
He wanted to be ruthless and cold.
And yet, it seemed she too had beat him in the chilling feature.

Her ability to ignore those inevitable thumpings were still but a fact of her higher emotional capability.
She was barricading her entire self away.

Her tears freely flowing and her lost stare captured the floor.
She looked dazed and in shock.
Her eyes shook, uncongealed.

"Greenie."
She whispered, her voice soft and faded.

He blinked repeatedly, leaning back in a hidden trance.

"......They're coming"
Her hands fell forward and her hair draping down, concealing her current vulnerability.

"You have to prepare, they're gonna reach here soon."
She muttered, her breath fuzzy, her throat rough.

He stared at her skeptically, like he'd a deranged.
Her words like a troubling tantrum on a hot day.

He felt annoyed.
His heart thumping a bit faster for a little while.

"You have to tell Caleb right now!,
they are gonna wipe out this stupid place, do you really want that?!.
You don't have to trust me, just freaking do this shit you hear me?!....
Unless you want all of them dead then of course I don't care, go warn them all, you still have some time.
You have to go now!!."

He stared intently at her, his frown etched deeper and his eyes glowering.

She looked at him in disbelief, backing away while shaking her head, her own face forming a frown.

"And to think I started to trust you for a bit..."
She mumbled, her eyes narrowed tight as she ran out of the room.

He felt his heart tug and a shiver ran down his spine.
Those words she uttered, it made him.......sad?.

-----------

Gina's POV

I shook my head at him and backed away.
How couldn't he tell a sense of staidness from a catch of humor?...

To think this was what Mia took her few last chance to say....
To think we both share a body and she wanted to save them while I don't really want to.....
To think I even ever thought he'd believe me....
I must be very dull up till now. Always forgetting I alone have my back.....

Silly me...

Considering the fact that she'd said pack warriors were the attackers on their way, and the fact that they considered them as plagues, this was no time for misunderstandings.

I wonder why I wasn't hesitant.
I knew he wouldn't believe me, but I guess, considering the fact that...somehow, I'd managed to grow a bit of empathy on these rogues, it was partially my fault.

I guess, since he couldn't really feel anything given their distance right now, I would seem foolish.
Still, I take this my fault.

I turned to the head of the tent and began running towards the leader's tent.
Once again, a talk with "the leader".
I'll dread this day to go.

I couldn't care less about my permeation anymore. I ran with all my might and went head first into the tent.
Surprisingly, I got quite faster than I'd have usually met.

As usual, he had people inside. I heard them discussing about the pack attacks once more.

I steadied my breath, not wanting to look like a mad woman who just sprinted all the way from her tent to say, "They're coming!".
I didn't want such recognition anymore. It's too taunting, and I still intended to keep my pride.

Taking a deep breath, I raised the door cloth and came face to face with a smiling Caleb.

"Ahhh!!, Just the person I was looking for."
He was smiling but the smile didn't reach up to his eyes.

"See we have news for you Gina-"

"Pack warriors are coming to wipe out this place, we need to outwit this and come up with a plan.....Now!"
