"Jaemin hyung!" The said ravenette boy looks up from his laptop, tearing his eyes away from the blinding lights of his screen as he slows down chewing on his snack.

"Uh, yeah?" Jaemin raises a brow, not really sure as to why his fiancé is here, but at the same time not surprised.

"Remember your friend I met last week?" By the mere mention of a certain mischievous and wise person, Jaemin already groans quietly.

Stretching the corner of his lips to a forced out smile, making him look ridiculous as ever. "Oh of course, how could I forget that damn bastard." He says, teeth gritted.

Jeno raises a brow at him but then shrugs it off as something Renjun and Jaemin joke about in their friendship just like him with his own.

"Well I was wondering if you're free this weekend? Renjun hyung invited us to go bowling, his treat." Jeno smiles, eyes glinting with hope.

By that, it has Jaemin feeling complicated.

He doesn't really want to go, both because of Jeno and Renjun themselves.

Renjun, for some reason, has been up his ass since his whole suspicion of Jeno and.... Jaemin as well.

Meanwhile, Jeno is... Nothing is wrong with him– from what Jaemin has seen. The boy is fine, he didn't do anything bad.

It is just because of Jaemin's mixed up feelings. He doesn't want to think about it, for he knows he will be in big trouble if he considers it being... True.

So, basically, he's trying to give some distance around here.

However, there is another thought in him, screaming for him to go regardless of his (what we'd like to consider as his usual) conscious thoughts.

The idea of leaving Renjun and Jeno to bond with each other, alone, for a whole day doesn't really sit right with him.

Suddenly, the image of them alone grows bigger, louder and clearer for Jaemin to even get his head back in the game.

He swallows dryly and blinks, "Yeah, I'll go." Without thinking clearly.

A muffled gasp escapes Jeno's lips, kissing Jaemin's cheek happily, rambling about something Jaemin couldn't really pay attention to before he waves goodbye.

"What the fuck..." Was all Jaemin could say to himself.

"Oh, you're early." Jaemin recognizes that voice very well, and he doesn't like the way where this is going already.

"Yeah, so?" He doesn't turn or even glance at the person, he doesn't need to.

"Nothing, but I've got to say Jaem, I wasn't expecting you to give in and join us." He feels the person's eyes staring at him intently, teasingly as he crosses his arms.

Jaemin, from the outside, looks quite unbothered. Figure standing straight and tall, bulky arms crossed, chin tilted up, eyes stern as he waits for a certain blond haired boy to appear.

But the person knows him too well, well enough to notice the way he swallows dryly, foot tapping on the floor, jaw clenching, tensed up aura around him.

He smirks, and Jaemin breathes through his nose. "I honestly thought you would have left us alone, or shall I say, leave your fiancé alone to someone else."

"I may be your best friend Jaemin, but I think your little target is interesting."

Just as Jaemin was about to explode, someone's voice interrupts them. "Am I late?"

"Oh you're fine, darling." Jaemin clenches his hands tightly at the pet name his friend used towards his fiancé.

"Let's go?" The shorter boy flashes him a smirk as they head inside, Jeno instinctively taking Jaemin by the bicep.

"Let's take a break," Jeno pants, plopping down beside Jaemin and leans back in pure exhaustion.

"You sound like you ran a whole mile under the scorching sun." He giggles at the comment.

"To be fair, it's been a long time since I went bowling. So..." Shrugging his shoulders as he looks around their table, pouting.

Seeing his face changing, Renjun chuckles and stands up. "Shall I get us more snacks?"

"Yes please."

"I'll go too." Jaemin says abruptly, slightly surprising the blond haired boy beside him due to being most likely quiet since they've started.

Smiling, he nods at them to go ahead anyway while he regains his energy, listening to the music the bowling alley is playing as he watches the other group of people to his left.

"Are you trying to sabotage me?" Renjun merely chuckles at that.

Grunting when he suddenly gets shoved to the side, he meets Jaemin's glaring eyes. "I'm not, can you calm down?"

"No, because I don't believe you."

"Not anymore?" Renjun sneers, Jaemin shoving him again, getting close to the wall.

The snacks are on the floor, after being bought, Jaemin had pulled Renjun to a quiet area instead of going back to where Jeno was.

"What the fuck are you planning, Renjun? I already have trouble in this damn mission, especially because of Mark. I don't need you to add more."

"As if I'm adding fuel to the fire, Jaemin. I'm literally trying to help you." Renjun rolls his eyes.

"By what? Exposing yourself to Jeno when it's not even necessary? Observe my every move and report it back to the others, possibly get me in trouble?"

"You think I'm going to backstab you after everything we've talked about?" Renjun sarcastically chuckles.

"Why would I even do that? None of us would get anything good from it."

"You will, favoritism, praise." Jaemin replies bluntly.

Renjun glares back, "then it's not worth it anyway. I don't want to have something like that when I have to lose someone as an exchange."

Jaemin takes a moment, stepping back a bit. "Then why are you here, doing this?"

Renjun rolls his shoulders back and straightens up. "I'm simply here to get to know Jeno, like I said."

"Not to report, to backstab or anything fucked up. I genuinely want to know what Lee Jeno is really like, because you don't even answer me about him when I ask you."

"Believe it or not Jaemin, this isn't a mission. I wasn't told to be here or do this for someone back in the headquarters. You can check me, no weapons and shenanigans."

Jaemin eyes him intently, scanning him up and down. He doesn't want to admit it aloud, but he believes Renjun.

Not like he needed to anyway, because Renjun knows him. The look in his eyes says it all.

"Are you trying to get to know him so you could ask him out?"

That simple question has Renjun snorting, laughing aloud before shaking his head. "No, of course not."

"Then why were you–"

"I was testing you, Jaemin. And it sure worked very well, don't you think?" Stepping closer to get all up in to Jaemin's face, he smirks.

The blush on Jaemin's cheeks has him wanting to laugh, but he restrains to do so. "I'm sure you know what I'm talking about."

"It's not–"

"You're jealous. And that's that, there is no way getting out of it because it's true and genuine. No acting whatsoever."

"Shut the hell–"

"Even I, your best friend, made you overthink that I would steal your fiancé from you, fake or not." Renjun sneers, "that just proves a lot of things, Nana."

"Shut up."

"You're still convincing yourself to a lie, Jaemin. And I understand you, but this won't go well. For you and for Jeno." He pats Jaemin's shoulders gently.

"Now let's go back before Jeno starts worrying. We'll talk more about this next time." Renjun walks pass him to gather their snacks back.

"Wait," Jaemin calls out, sounding hesitant as his face scrunches in cringe.

Renjun hums attentively, "are you really not... You know...."

"Pff, I'm deadass not going to steal him, moron. He's handsome, but I already have an admirer up my ass recently." Renjun winks.

"And like I said, I wouldn't backstab you, Jaemin." Flashing him a teasing smile before heading back to where Jeno was first.

"The actual fuck...."

Thoughts??

Any quotes you like in this chapter?? I tried my best and was oddly and rarely in a good mood to add some.

We got Renjun in the tea, what do you think of him and his purpose? Do you think what he's doing is good or unnecessary?

Sorry for lack and slow updates, idk but these days have been busy. Especially when classes are going to start soon ;-;
