Marinette P.O.V.

"Thanks, Marinette. It's just...my father," Chat began, his attitude shifting into solemnness. "He's never been there for me and always finds a way out of spending time with me since, like, a year ago. I love him and all, but sometimes I wonder if he feels the same toward me."

I stared at him. His face was tired, and he sort of, just, stood there, looking down. The fake ears on his head turned downward, and the overall limpness of his body caught me off-guard. I had never seen Chat like this.

With much hesitation, I stepped forward and held my hand out soothingly. After getting a closer look, I saw there were tears forming in his eyes. My heart was pounding faster and faster the closer I came to Chat Noir, making me worried he'd hear it.

All the same, though, I placed the hand I had previously held out on his cheek, causing him to glance over to me. My face became red, but I took deep breathes to attempt to calm myself down.

A soft smile crept onto his lips as he looked at me, and then he leaned his cheek onto my hand, resting it.

Then, a tear fell down his cheek. The small droplet of water fell onto my outreached arm, then to the floor of my balcony. His eyes closed and another appeared.

My stomach churned and my heart was beating faster and faster as he and I moved ourselves closer to one another. As we did, more and more tears escaped Chat's closed eyes, then soft cries.

I couldn't wait any longer and quickly pulled him into a hug. His arms very quickly moved to my back and he returned the hug all the same. Chat buried his face into my shoulder as groans of sadness came from his throat.

I lay my head on his shoulder, the soft padding from underneath his suit cushioned my cheeks. A sigh escaped my lips as I continued to hold him, and I whispered soft words of comfort; his cries softened.

He returned upright, still standing in my arms, and looked at me. His completely green eyes were puffy and bloodshot, his cheeks were red and flushed from the tears. I gave him a slight smile and his cheeks become a deeper red than before.

I swear my heart was beating so fast Maman and Papa could probably hear me from downstairs. The poor hero was still in my arms as we stood there in complete silence, his eyes looking in mine. The air outside was cold and as we both breathed a white puff escaped our lips.

"Listen, Marinette..." Chat whispered, barely loud enough for me to even hear, "If you don't want me to you can slap me after, but I just need to do this." I looked at him in confusion, about to ask what he meant, but instead I was pulled into a kiss. My arms fell numb and I closed my eyes, sinking into the serenity and bliss of the moment.

Chat Noir pulled back, opening his eyes slowly, as I did the same. Though, I was too shocked to say anything, so my wide eyes gazed into his.

"Heh, you're not going to slap me?" He whispered, his face only inches from mine. I was able to slightly shake my head, making him smile softly. "Well, I guess I'll get going then, you have school tomorrow anyway. Bye, Marinette."

He released me and leapt off my balcony, saluting a small wave with his hand, until he was out of sight. My fingers lightly brushed against my lips as I remembered the short but beautiful moment I had shared with Chat Noir.

That's when reality caught up with me and I gaped. I. JUST. KISSED. CHAT. NOIR.

Before anything, I hurried downstairs through my trap door, jumped off my bed, hopped onto my desk chair, and grabbed my iPhone. I tapped Contacts, clicked Alya's name, pressed Voice Call, and waited for the ringing to stop.

"Hey Marinette? What's up?" She asked.

"Alya! You will not just believe what just happened!"
