Grandma Light absolutely adores Rin. Lightning has no idea why, though he suspects it has something to do with his baby face, which Rin doesn’t have and vehemently denies such accusations.

"Oh, thank goodness! I was hoping to see you again before you left for Japan." Granny Light was not very old at all. She was merely in her sixties. Smile lines etched her face, along with crows feet from smiling so often. She looked like a happy woman. Grandpa Light came out from the kitchen and grinned. He was a tall man with salt and pepper hair and tanned, leathery skin from days spent in the sun on their ranch.

The older couple hugged him together, like they always had. "We'll miss you. You better come back soon, Rin. This crazy country needs you." Grandpa chuckled. Rin smiled–old people always gave great hugs.

"I'll try." He replied.

"And try to go on a few dates while you're at it. I hear Japan has some beautiful sights to see." Granny winked at him. He laughed. "Okay Granny."

"Alright, Mom stop making innuendos, he's only fifteen. We should get going. Bye Mom, Dad! Samantha, you behave!" Lightning called to his sister who was somewhere in the house. She shouted back a goodbye and the two left.
