I was cursing Lucy and her damn cake, six ways to Sunday, as I watched Satan walk up to my parents. Who had just gotten home and were talking in the kitchen.

Time slowed down I couldn't catch my breath.

He reached my parents they didn't even seem surprised.

Oh, there's a stranger in our home? No problem.

"Hello Mr. & Mrs. Rochester, I'm Cole." He extended his hand to my father.

"I go to school with Addison." He sounded like the perfect gentlemen.

"I would like to introduce myself because I was thinking about dating your daughter."

I choked on air, everyone stared at me. This was the first time my parents saw my outfit choice of today.

My mother beaming, jumped up, she rushed over to me.

"I had no idea you even liked anyone!" My mom's golden eyes danced with excitement.

I'm reminded of how hard the past few months must have been, on her.
She leaned close, in an attempt to talk to me quietly, but I stop her short wrapping my arms around her.

"I'm sorry Mom I know I lost my head for a while," I mumbled into her shoulders, so no one else heard me.

I can't help he hurt me, I'm sorry I hurt you in the process of hurting. Is what I meant to say I just didn't have the courage to say it out loud, yet.

I hoped she knew what I meant.

"Is he the reason for the wardrobe change?" Mom asked me in a hushed tone. I almost wanted to burst out laughing, again.

I'll let her have this one.

"Yes, Mom. He's really changing me for the better." She mistook my amusement for real happiness.

Mom joined them, after that. It would appear they both loved Cole.

"You really need to pick a name."

He threw me, what could only be called, a heart-stopping smile. I gotta admit he was cute.

Okay, he was hot.

But, he was also Satan.

Lord, help me. What is going on, here?

Maybe it was seeing him actually talk to my parents.

If only they knew the truth, then they wouldn't be smiling.

David had no interest in talking to my parents, or Lucy, for that matter.

He really didn't care about anything of my interests.

Switching my thoughts to the problem on hand.

"Cole, did you tell them how we have almost every class together?" He looked at me, like "why the hell would I do that?"

Raising my eyebrow and tilting my head towards my parents, was my only response.

He didn't fix his face as he nodded his head.

"She's right, every single period is the same, even lunch." The tone he used was slightly mocking.

"Wow, what are the odds of that?" My dad was a math man. He worked as a risk analysis specialist, for a major insurance company.

To say, my dad could talk about statistics was an understatement.

I hoped Cole enjoyed math as much as my dad does. He's about to spend hours talking about it.

His warning should have been when Mom and I quietly sneak out the kitchen.

I did my homework in peace, almost all of it. I wasn't caught up in math yet, but I was not about to ask my dad for help.

My only option was my other, much less reliable lifeline.

Grabbing my phone off my desk, I pulled up Lucy's chathead, pressed the video chat button.

No answer, but I'm annoying and let it go.

She answered after like 30 seconds her hair hidden under a towel.

"Hey gotta a question." I held my paper up and wave it about.

"If you make it quick." She adjusted the towel.

I switched cameras and showed her the problem I was having issues with.

After five minutes of her trying to explain, she gave up and just showed me her work. Giving me the time to copy it all down correctly.

My door shot open and banged against the wall. In my door stood Satan.

He looks really Satany, right now.

His eyes blazed, I swear I even saw tiny flames in them.

Just hitting end on mine and Lucy's conversation. I'd explain later.

"I wanted to say, thank you and I hate you." He paused giving me a moment to let that sank in. He spoke in a calm voice which made me more uncomfortable than if he had yelled.

"Thank you because I just found a new way of torture. I hate you because I found it firsthand and you set me up." He strolled to my bed and made himself comfortable.

"I was planning on making this payback, but you know. I'm starting to think I messed up here." He fiddled around on his phone as he spoke. A light-hearted tone in his voice.

His face grew dark, his knuckles turned white, gripping around his phone.

"I need to go, mind walking me out?" All his playfulness gone. He raked a hand through his hair, and he waited for me by the door.

The journey to my front door wasn't long.

I wasn't sure what to do, once we got to the door.

My parents were sitting on the couch. We only had one living room, thank God my mom wasn't crazy like Lucy's.

"Goodbye, Mr. And Mrs. Rochester. I hope you have a wonderful evening."

As my parents turned around to say goodbye, Satan grabbed my waist and pulled me close.

His lips crashed against mine.

I don't know who gasped louder, my mom or me.

The shock wore off fast replaced with a flicker of a spark. He pulled back and placed his mouth against my ear.

"Have fun they are not happy. Talk soon." I could hear the laughter in his voice. His smile was full of pride and amusement. He hustled out of my house.

Leaving me to face my parents.

Sorry for the delay!!! I hope this chapter makes up for its lateness. I have a few pressing family issues going on right now, along with work and general life getting in the way.

Anyway feel free to tell me what you think, I respond to all.

That's all I got, so vote, comment and follow. You know the routine.
