"ADDISON LEE!!!!" My parents thundered together.

Cringing, I looked longingly at the front door. I wonder if they'd catch me if I ran out.

They would.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Brain.

No problem, now stop stalling and face them.

Okay, I fixed my face to shocked innocence.

Hoping to whoever watched over me, I could make them believe I had no idea he was going to kiss me.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't know he was going to do that!" I tried to put as much of the pity me tone in my voice as I could.

"Do you even know this boy?" My father boomed. He had very strong feelings about me and boys.

Kissing was a big no. My mom wasn't fond of the idea, either. They had been advancing on me, causing me to back away, and into the wall.

My back made an audible thump when it hit the wall. Neither of my parents seemed to care.

Oh, I hate him so much.

My dad got the amazing idea to run after Satan, he was out the door before my mom and I could stop him.

Mom threw me a look, telling me I was in even more trouble.

Great.

My rather short, round father stomped his way through our yard, to Satan's car. It looked like, he had just buckled in his seat belt.

"You need to drive away, now!"

He made eye contact with my father, whom I'm sure looked like a charging baby bull. Adorable, in a way.

My dad was a yeller, so I was hanging back. Mom thought it was smart to stop halfway through the yard. We both knew once Dad starts, anybody close, was in for it.

Oh, for the love of God.

Satan rolled down the window and put on a remorseful face. That didn't deter my father, not in the slightest.

"I don't know WHO YOU THInk you are." Since we were in public, my dad was going to try to rein it in.

I struggled not to laugh at the bewildered look on Satan's face as my father continued to yell.

"I HAVE HALF A MIND TO CALL YOUR PARENTS!" Dad bellowed, he was beginning to lean into the window.

"Henry." My mother hissed.

"Think of the neighbors, dear." Mom stage-whispered at him. Dads spine snapped straight as if his puppet master pulled the string taut.

"Did I mention my parents are massive crowd pleasers?"

I was getting far too comfortable using that as a form of communication.

I stared at Satan, watching him struggle to keep his face in check.

"I am very sorry sir, I really just like your daughter." His tone had a touch of guilt to it. A smile started to form on Satan's face.

My father and he had a staring contest, the longer it went the bigger Satan's smile got. He locked eyes with my mother after a moment.

Well, what's going on there?  I watched wearily, and slightly confused.

I fidget with the hem of my shirt, he broke eye contact with my mom. Looked at me and winked before he drove off.

My dad was frozen, his arm now perching on air.

Both of their faces stuck in anger, my mom looked closer to mortified. I couldn't stop laughing as I called Lucy, I was going to need help to get them inside.

I paced the yard as the phone trilled and trilled. It would go to voicemail and I would just redial.

After about the eighth call, I knew she was ignoring me on purpose.

"What?!" Lucy barked as a way of answering the phone.

"You need to come over, I need your help." I put extra sugar in my voice.

"With what?" She practically growled at me.

"Satan kinda broke my parents." I stammered out.

"I'll be right there." She didn't even give me the chance to tell her they were in the front yard.

I was really hoping none of the neighbors were paying attention.

I was struggling to move my dad when Lucy pulled up. Lucy walked up to me as I was trying to get my dad's arm down.

I looked over my shoulder, to explain everything to her.

My words died in my throat as I took in her hair.

It was super blonde like it was almost white.

"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" I couldn't stop myself from yelling in her face. She was closer than I had thought.

She gave me a stank face, and tug the hat she was wearing further down her head.

I couldn't stop snickering, even as we hauled my dad to the door. It took us a good hour and a half to get both of them in the house, and on the couch.

We just tipped them over and hoped for the best. Lucy went and collapsed on my bed, hopefully, she was coming up with an explanation for her hair.

I made us both grilled cheese, I was prepared to eat both sandwiches. It was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

"I'm not going home, my mom wouldn't stop talking about my hair. She's keeping me from school tomorrow, just to get it "fixed"." She started talking as soon as I walked into my room.

I hand her a plate she waved her sandwich as she spoke.

"You know." She paused to take a bite. "I kinda like my hair like this, makes me look like a hag witch." She said completely serious around her mouthful of food. I almost choked on my laughter and bite.

After our laughter died down, we sat in silence, enjoying our meals.

*Lightbulb*

"Imagine how awesome a bright color would look? You have the perfect base for it." Her face lit up like a Christmas tree.

"How did you end up with this anyway?" I asked as I finished my last bite.

"Oh, I bleached my hair." She avoided making eye contact with me. Some spot on my wall must have prettier eyes.

"Your mom let you?" I asked astounded.

"Let me?" she let out a dry laugh.

"She's the one who bought it and put it on. She didn't think about my hair never being dyed before." She finally looked at me, a hint of a smirk was on her face.

"Also she read the directions wrong and left it on longer." She was making air quotes the whole time she spoke.

I really struggled to keep my face straight. She just stared at me, her eyes boring into me.

I cracked.

My head went back, as I cackled.

Even as tears poured down my face Lucy kept a stone wall face.

Okay, allow me to explain what is so funny here.

Lucy's mom is a control freak, and that's putting it lightly.  An eccentric with extreme OCD. That's the reason for two living rooms one has to be absolutely perfect.

Her father thought it was best to just make a second one that way her mom didn't spend every waking moment cleaning the first. It's usually Lucy's job to make sure the second one is clean.

The difference between Lucy and her mom's fashion style is almost comical. Picture Barbie had Wednesday Addams as a daughter. Her father was kinda like mine. Similar jobs, happy life, happy wife. Only one big difference, Sabrina wouldn't have a "chubby" husband. That's how she describes my dad.

She's really sweet and not at all shallow or concerned about what others think like my parents. I think that's where Lucy gets it from.

Anyway, so the fact that her mom made a mistake, kills me.

This is the same woman, who criticized the consistency of the brush strokes on a finger painting. The painting was mine.

I cried.

In my defense, I was 6.

After joking around and checking on my parents on and off for hours. Lucy called her parents, she had this planned because she had extra clothes in her car.

I showered and laid down, I had to get back up and help Lucy pull out the tumble bed.

"We really need to talk your parents into giving me a bed of my own in here." She muttered as she made her bed.

"Where would we put it?" I mean I did have room but who does she think she is? I don't have a bed at her house.

She called my bluff.

"Right there." Her tone was amused. She didn't even bother to indicate where she was talking about. She just laid still, and laugh.

I tossed and turned a bit, as I listened to her fall right into sleep.

Finally, I felt that little door open in my mind and sleep crept in. Careful not to spook it, I relaxed.

My dream started to form, lazily and blurry at first. My breathing slowed, sleep pulling me further in.

I found myself, sitting, in an unfamiliar room.

Where the hell was I?

"You guessed right, love." I knew that voice. That couldn't be who I thought it was, could it?

Oh no, no, no. Just let me sleep!

Hey guys!! Hope you enjoyed this little chapter.

Satan doesn't seem to want to give Addie a moment of rest :( I wonder what hilariously horrible thing he has for her now.

Please don't forgot to vote, comment, tell me what you love or hated.

Keep your eyes open for Chapter Ten!!
