The whole clan gasped a few yowled "but that's against the code!" and "traitor! Rainfeather's a traitor!"

Moonfall whipped around as Thornflower screeched "traitor! unloyal! Skystar, you should banish her from ThunderClan!"

"How could you?!" Moonfall hissed "without Rainfeather, you wouldn't be here!"

"huh" Thornflower whispered "you actually think I want to be a part of this stupid clan? My life wou;d be so much better if Rainfeather just left Autumnfrost and me alone!"

"Then why don't you just leave?" Moonfall demanded, furious.

"I-" Thornflower's mew softened "not without Autumnfrost..."

Moonfall suddenly felt a pang of pity for the fierce queen, as she noticed the glint of sorrow and broken-heartedness in her eyes. "You love Autumnfrost, don't you?" Moonfall murmured.

Thornflower's mood suddenly snapped back to anger "of course I do! whose kits did you think these were?" She gestured to the kits tumbling around behind her.

Moonfall was surprised "But-" she began, but Thornflower cut her off.

"Just leave me and my kits alone!" Then she stormed off into the queens' den.

Moonfall padded toward the warriors' den with Oakit, to see his father.

"Birchleaf?" Moonfall called, squeezing through the entrance to the den. When she entered, she was startled to see Birchleaf sharing tongues with Frostfoot.

Birchleaf looked up at Moonfall "I'm sorry, but after you left, I moved on"

Moonfall was heartbroken, but also filled with rage "what?!" she screeched "Birchleaf, this is your kit! Are you telling me you're abandoning him?"

Birchleaf's blank gaze drifted to Oakit, cowering behind one of his mother's front paws. Then, without looking at Moonfall, he mewed "yes, I'm abandoning him, if that's what you call it. Moonfall, I've told you. I've moved on."

At that, Moonfall picked up her kit, her eyes filled with tears, and ran out of the warriors' den.

Traitor! Heartbreaker! I hate him! How could he?! Moonfall thought bitterly, tears streaming down her muzzle, as she dashed through the forest with Oakit.

also idk ab u guys but i kinda want to know what's going on w/ Rainfeather this chapter?? like is she js getting bullied in the clearing while Moonfall is wandering around having revelations???

the way Birchleaf just casually said "ive been cheating on u" as soon as Moonfall walked in the room and then told his son he's abandoning him TO HIS FACE makes me want to rename him Bitchleaf. ITS ONLY BEEN LIKE 3 DAYS MY MAN WHAT HAVE U BEEN UP TO ????
