"Just leave it alone!" Kory shouted for the fifth time. She didn't want to keep going on about this stupid thing. So what if she didn't tell him she was going away for a mission where she had to act as someone's girlfriend which included kissing him in public...okay yeah she should've told him but he was being so extra about it. It was just a job it wasn't like she slept with the guy. She kissed people all the time to learn new languages and he never had a problem with that so why was he taking such an issue with her doing it romantically? It was even real romance!

"No, I won't leave it! When someone kisses me and I have no say in the matter you still get jealous! How is it fair that when you purposely kiss someone else I can't get a little mad?" Dick shouted back. Their team had slowly congregated into the living room to watch the verbal throwdown but neither of them had noticed. They were far too deep in the argument.

"It was one time and for work! It's not like I'm running around getting with every guy I meet."

"But you still could've told me so then I would've known where you were or who you were with! I was worried sick and now I'm pissed off so nothing good would've come from not telling me!"

"I don't want to talk about this anymore!" Kory yelled. She turned around and folded her arms to show she met business but Nightwing wasn't backing down.

"Oh come on, you're acting like a teenager. Just explain your thought process or something because I'm struggling to understand how you thought this would ever be okay with me! What you did wasn't fair and crossed my boundaries. You would never let me get away with this." The alien gritted her teeth, her scowl getting fiercer. She was done with the conversation and she was done with him following her about trying to keep it going. They'd been fighting for hours because he wouldn't leave her alone. She'd just come back from a twelve-hour flight too. Now there is no excuse for what she did next. Although it hadn't been her intention, she'd done it all the same.

"I said I don't want to talk about it anymore!" she repeated angrily. She blindly threw a star bolt in her boyfriend's direction. She'd intended for it to hit the floor by his feet so he'd stay where he was but her aim had been skewed by her anger. She heard a yelp of pain followed by the banging of pots and pans. Her eyes went wide as she turned around.

Silently, Kory prayed that she'd skimmed her boyfriend's shoulder and accidentally hit the pans in the kitchen but she knew that wasn't true when she heard the thud. Dick had been thrust into the kitchen from the force of the hit that he took right in the chest. It had burnt through his suit and his chest looked burnt to a crisp. She gasped upon seeing what she'd done and went to help but her team stepped in.

"Stay away from him!" Jaime ordered.

"I didn't mean to-"

"You're an adult! You should know better!" Garfield snapped. They held out their arms to make sure she didn't walk past them as Damian ran to his brother's aid along with Raven.

"Richard? Can you hear me?" Raven asked. The hero groaned and tried to sit up but it hurt too much. He was drifting between being awake and passing out from the pain, his face twisting in agony and then relaxing. "I'm going to help you okay? Stay calm."

"You'll be drained for most of the day if you do," Damian reminded her. Of course, he'd like to help his sibling but he didn't want to make unnecessary precautions at the expense of one of the only teammates he respected in any way.

"These burns are awful and his concussion isn't going to be mild with how hard he hit the pans. Do you really want him to go through weeks of pain at the least?" He shook his head. "I'll be fine after a meditating session and an energy drink. He won't be."

"Is he alright?" Kory asked, tears bubbling in her eyes.

"Get the hell out before we kick you out. You've done enough damage for one day," Garfield snarled. She glanced around the room only to receive glares and ran out, unable to deal with it all. "How is he?"

"I'll need to heal him. Help me get him to the couch, it'll be easier to do it there."

Garfield and Jaime hoisted the injured hero up, gaining a pained whine, and moved him to the couch. There was some blood dripping from the corner of his mouth which immediately put them all on high alert. Raven knelt by his head and put her fingers on his temples. She didn't like healing him, his memories were a lot to deal with. Yet he was the most grateful when she did heal him. Maybe he knew how his memories freaked her out. If he did, he never said anything. She took a deep breath before closing her eyes and doing her work. His burn lit up as did most of his chest and his head. He's sustained more injuries than they thought. Damian kept a close eye on Raven, ready to catch her if she passed out. She was getting better at healing without draining herself of all her energy but this was the biggest one she'd done in a while so he didn't know if the training would stretch that far. Watching the skin come back made their skin crawl but at least it wasn't a nasty burn anymore. She managed to fix most of the injuries but she couldn't save him from a faint scar over his chest. It was too much work. She took her hands away and went limp, falling into Damian's arms.

"Dick?" Jaime called. He wanted to shake the older but feared it would somehow make the burn come back. Dick groaned and scrunched his face up before opening his eyes. "Hey, can you hear me?"

"Loud and clear," he croaked. He sat up slowly, hissing in pain. His body ached like never before. Actually, it had ached like this before but it was not for PG reasons. "What happened?"

"Star flipped out and really messed you up. Rae had to heal you because you were burnt so badly," Garfield explained. Dick raised an eyebrow at him before glancing down at his chest. There was a massive burn hole in his suit and a scar he was sure wasn't there that morning.

"Where is she? Is she okay?"

"Dude she fried you! Why do you care?" Jaime asked.

"Because she probably didn't mean to hurt me this bad. She'd beat up anyone who so much as looked at me wrong."

"I don't care if she didn't mean to hurt you, she's not worth your time," Damian spat. He picked up Raven carefully and held her close. "I'm taking her to her room. Knock some sense into Grayson whilst I'm gone," he announced. The teens nodded and turned to the hero who wasn't as affected by this event as they thought he'd be. He'd been fried by his girlfriend and it seemed he only cared about her.

"Guys, honestly, it isn't that bad. I'm okay aren't I?"

"Has she done this before? Because we'll have your back if she has. So will the League for sure," Jaime assured him.

"What? No! God no! She's never hurt me unless she was mind-controlled or I was mind-controlled," he insisted. "This was a one-off event and she must've been really upset to do this. I bet she didn't mean to hit me either." The pair hummed sceptically. "I'm going to find her. You can think what you want but I know my girlfriend." He got up and, although he had to take a moment to shake the black dots from his vision, went to find where Kory had gotten.

"Dick, we've got your back. Don't let her get away with hurting you this badly," Garfield told him.

"She didn't mean to do this I just know it. Go make sure Rae is okay."

The teenagers weren't going to tell him things about his relationship that they know nothing about. Dick searched the Tower for Kory, ignoring the dots that kept coming to attack his vision every now and then. He eventually found her on the rooftop crying her eyes out. He frowned to himself and walked over. She jumped when she felt his hand against her shoulder but softened when she saw him.

"Dickie, I'm so sorry," she apologized, taking his hands in hers. Her eyes fell on his chest with a look of horror.

"Rae could only do so much before she drained herself," Dick explained. She looked simply distraught with what she'd done. "I'm okay though. A little run-down but nothing more."

"You're not okay! You've got a scar from me. You should never get them from me," Kory insisted.

"Did you mean to hurt me?"

"Of course not! I meant to hit the floor but my aim was off and-"

"There we go then. You didn't mean to hurt me so this was a one-off thing. I know you wouldn't have done this if I hadn't made you so mad," he responded. Her eyebrows knitted together with worry and she shook her head, squeezing his hands.

"I should've had self-restraint. I was just so mad and I was being silly. Of course, I should've told you where I was going and what I was doing. You were right. I would have taken issue if it were you and I did cross a boundary by doing what I did. I'm really sorry."

"I forgive you, you know I do. It's just...I'd sleep a little better at night if you took some anger management class or something. I'd rather not tire Rae out like that again," he suggested. Kory nodded immediately.

"Of course. I'm so sorry Dickie," she apologized again. She'd be making this up to him for years to come. "I promise this won't happen again." Dick smiled before wincing and putting a hand to his head. He had a really bad headache. Probably a side effect of Raven healing him so quickly. His body was probably confused at the lack of an injury to heal. "Are you okay?"

"Little headache. I'll sleep it off." She nodded and swept him off his feet immediately. "I can walk, y'know."

"And I need to make this up to you. You're going to be treated better than a Tamarianian prince." He chuckled to himself and leaned against her, enjoying how comfortable she was. He wrapped his arms around her neck. She kissed his forehead lightly as though he was made of glass and one touch would smash him into a million pieces.

"Kory?"

"Yeah?"

"You love me right? That guy you were with, that was just for the mission?"

"It was a mission and nothing more. I love you, you know that." He nodded with a little smile.

"I love you too."

Once she put Dick to bed, Kory went to fetch a glass of water and some painkillers for him in case his headache hadn't left him when he woke up. As she did, she was met with a group of extremely angry teenagers who weren't going to be as forgiving as her boyfriend.

"You went too far today," Garfield stated.

"I know I did but I never meant to hit him. I just meant to hit the floor in front of him so he wouldn't follow me about," she explained. They looked unconvinced by her side of the story. She could feel their eyes burrowing through her skin into her soul. It made her uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. She shifted from one foot to the other. They were blocking her from the kitchen but she didn't want to get any closer to them than she already was. They might decide to attack her and, although she wouldn't like to admit it, she wasn't a match for all of them. Especially when Dick was fast asleep.

"This isn't some training move gone wrong. You could've really hurt him," Raven spat venomously. "End of career hurt him."

"I didn't realize it was that bad," Kory replied. "All he has is a headache and a scar thanks to you."

"You're damn right thanks to me. Had I not stepped in straight away he would've had lifelong problems with his chest. Problems that could've made being Nightwing near impossible." She bowed her head in shame. If that had been their reality, she wouldn't have been able to live with herself. Dick loved being Nightwing, sometimes to his own detriment. Having that ripped away from him by the person he cared for the most would be torturous. He wouldn't forgive her and she wouldn't blame him.

"Then it's good you stepped in."

"It shouldn't have happened in the first place. You were in the wrong, he was trying to work things out like a mature adult. You're not teenagers anymore Kory. You can't pull teen angst bs when you don't want to admit you're in the wrong," Garfield pointed out.

"I know. I've agreed to take anger management classes so this never happens again. Now, can I get some water and painkillers for when he wakes up?" Damian got the two for her and shoved them into her hands. She went to walk away but he grabbed her arm tightly.

"If you ever touch my brother like that again, I will happily forego the oath I took. Nobody will find your body," he whispered. It was just low enough so only Kory could hear it. She gulped and nodded. She didn't doubt him.

"If we find out you've done this before you can say goodbye to being a member of the Titans not to mention the hero community as a whole. You're a hero. Act like it," Jaime snarled.

"I will." She scurried out of the room as fast as she could. They were deadly serious.

"You better," Damian muttered.
