CHAPTER 22

Recap: Swetlana: ( gritting her teeth) YOU??? How dare you insult me this much? I’m shivay’s business partner… and he got me here in this house

Rudra: yes I know he brought you here in this house…and I’m being polite with you for I know you are a business partner but if I get a slighlest doubt on your intentions trust me I will be worse nightmare of yours!!! And stop dreaming…Mr SSO got you here as a guest only…You aren’t fit and wrothy enough of being a permanent member of our family…That was why You were always my dad’s mistress and never was able to convince him to Marry you…so know your worth… and walks off leaving a fuming swetlana and amused shivay and tejvi behind....

Ok now lets jump to my story....

Here om locked himself and gauri in their room and was walking to and fro...once in every second he check his chiyarra. ... he was so tensed and frustrated...finally he decided something and opened the door to move out....but as he opened the door anika enters

Anika: gauri kaise hai??...saamne se hato muje usse milna hai ( How is gauri now? Move aside I need to see her )

Om: ( sarcastically)  bhagwaan ki kripa se ... zinda hai voh abhi….ab aap jaa sakti hain…main nhn chahta ki aap usse milen…( she is still alive by the grace of god…and I don’t want you to meet her)

Annika: ( hurt) om behen hoon mein uski ...khoon ka rishta hai hamara... mera haq hai usse milna…..tum mujhe nhn rok sakte ho….hato saamne aise.. ( Om I am her sister…and we are related by blood…It’s my right to meet her and you can’t stop me from doing that.. Now move aside and let me get in)

Om: ( sternly) Bola na NAHI!!!...Nhn matlab nhn….MEIN APNI BEEVI KO KHONA NAHI CHAAHTA....SAMJHI AAP....BHABHI...PLEASE...AKELE CHOD DIJIYE HAME ....AAJ KE liye pehle he bahut drama ho chukka hai…ab main nhn chahta ki kisi bhi tarah ka stress gauri pe pade…aur main gauri ka pati hone ke naate se rok sakta hun aapko... ( I said NO!! and no means no…. I don’t want to lose my wife at any cost..do you understand that…SIL please leave us alone …We have had enough drama for today and now I don’t want gauri to take any more stress….And I have the full right to stop you from meeting her because I’m her HUSBAND)

Shivaay : ( angry) om...yeh kya bakwaas hai... tum jaante ho na ki voh annika ki behen hai.... aur tumse zyada haq annika ka hai gauri par.... ( Om what nonsense is this?? You are very well aware that anika and gauri are sisters…Anika has more right on gauri than you do…Don’t forget that)

Daadi: shivaay sahi bol raha hai om...use andar jaane do puthar...behen hai wo uski..( shivay is right om…let anika go inside; she is her sister)

Om starts laughing at  that….
Behen kaise behen?? Ek aise behen jo shaanti se apni he choti behen ki bezti bardash kar rahi ho wo bhi apne he pati ke haathon….Ek aise behen jo chup chaap khade rekhe saara tamasha dekh rahi ho par ek uff tak na kare…ek aise behen ki koi zaroorat nhn hai meri gauri ko….usko toh maloom bhi nhn hai ki uski koi behen bhi hai aur na main chahta hoon ki wo yeh sach jaane….wo bina behen ke he theek hai…agar behen aisi hoti hain jaisi aap hai…. ( Sister…what kind of sister?? A sister who was quiet throughout the time her younger on was getting insulted by her BIL?? A sister who didn’t dare to speak up a word in defense rather was watching the entire drama as a spectator…..My gauri is better off without such a sister…She doesn’t know the truth of you being her sister and I would appreciate her not knowing it if a sister is like you are)

Anika: yeh kaise baatein kar rahe ho tum om?? Muje bhi dukh hua tha wo sab dekh ke … par tum jaante ho na ki shivay job hi karte hain hamesha sab  ke bhale he karte hain…. ( What are you saying om?? Even I was sad listening to all that was told to gauri….But you are well aware of the fact that whatever shivay does is always for the betterment of the family)

Om: acha??? Agar aapko itna he dukh that oh aap kuch kyun nhn boli tab….aur zara main bhi toh jaanun ki aisa kya faayda hai shivay ke aise bartaav ke peeche…. ( Really? If you were feeling so sad about then why did you not say anything when gauri was being insulted?? And What betterment…Tell me the reason behind shivay’s such behavior with gauri)

Anika:--------- silence

Om: ( shouting): chup kyun hai aap…behen hai na wo aapki…batyie kya kaaran tha..boliye ab….kya hua koi jawaab nhn mil raha na…milega bhi nhn kyunkikoi reason tha he nhn…( Why are you silent now?? She is your sister right so tell me the reason… Speak up…What happened You have no answer right??? You won’t even find one because nothing justifies such behavior)

Shivay is just about to speak when he sees swetlana giving him a glare so he walks off to her..

Om: aap nhn milengi gauri se…jitna ho sake door rahiye…main nhn chahta ki meri gauri ko kuch bhi ho aap logon ki wajah se ( You will not meet gauri….Stay away from her…. I don’t want her to suffer because of you people)

annika: kya?? ( what??)

Om: please don’t make her suffer…. And he locks his door and walks off...

A broken anika walks to her room where she sees a furious swetlna blackmailing shivay to separate omkara and gauri as soon as possible…

Swetlana: ( angry)  shivay tumhe jaldi se jaldi omkara aur gauri ko alag karna hoga…nhn toh? ( SHivay you have to separate om and gauri as soon as possible or else)

Shivay: (frustrated) nhn toh kya?? Haan kya karogi tum…Bahut hogya tumahra natak…dekha nhn tumne ki kya hua hai aaj… ( else what.??? Haan tell me?? What will you do otherwise…enough of your blackmailing….didn’t you see what happened today)

Swetlana: bahut bolne lag gye ho tum….yeh tum jaante ho ache se ki kya hoga agar tum wo nhn karoge jo maine kaha hai toh…
Aur aaj jo hua uska badla toh main leke he rahungi…itni insult…huh ( you have started speaking a lot….You are very well aware of my capabilities….so just do what I have asked you to….and I will definitely take my revenge for whatever happened today….So much insult??)

Shivay:  ( taunting) kya karne waali ho tum?? Maine tumhe pehle he warn kiya tha ki jo tum soch rahi ho who karna mushkil he nhn naamumkin hai par tumne meri baat suni he nhn toh ab kyun apni insult ka itna bura lag raha hai tumhe?? ( what  are you planning to do?? I had warned you beforehand about this…what you are planning to do is not just difficult rather it is impossoble to do….You paid no heed to whatever I told you…so why are you feeling bad for your insult)

Swetlana: kya kaha tha rudra ne ki main iss family ka hissa banne ke layak nhn hun…haan?? Toh shivay ab tum omkara aur gauri ko jaldi se alag karo taakin main rudra ko iss ghar ka hissa ban ke dikha sakun… ( What did rudra say that I am not capable enough to be a part of this family…right??? SO shivay now you will do something to separate omkara and gauri asap…so that I can show down rudra by becoming a part of this family)

Shivay: ( advising)  tum aag se khel rahi ho swetlana….jal ke raakh ho jaaogi…tum omkara ko jaanti nhn ho…aaj tumne jo dekha na wo toh bas trailer tha,…..wo aguri se bahut zaada pyaar karta hai…kabhi nhn chodega use wo…chahe tum kuch bhi karlo ( you are playing with fire and this will only burn you alive…. You have no idea who omkara is and what he can do…..Whatever you saw today was just a traler of his capabilities….Omkara loves gauri to death and he has never loved anyone like that before..He will never leave gauri no matter what you do…)

Swetlana: ( sarcastically) pyaar ??? hahahaah?? Uss gawar se ?? aisa kya hai uske pass jo mujhme nhn hai?? Haan??  Tum bas unn dono ko alag karne ki planning karo baaki omkara se shaadi ki planning main khud kar lungi…uski tension tum mat lo ( love and that too with that illiterate……don’t kid me shivay…..What does gauri have that I don’t have……tell me??? You just focus on separating the  two…. I will plan how to woo and get married to omkara)

Shivay: tum kabhi nhn samjh sakti ki gauri main aisa kya hai jo tumahre pass nhn…. But chahe tum jitni bhi koshish karlo tumhe omkara ka pyaar kabhi nhn milega…wo sirf aur sirf gauri ka he hai….( You can never ever understand the difference between gauri and you…But yes You will never be able to omkara’s love no matter what you do…His love is solely for gauri)

And with this he walks off…..leaving a broken anika who had over heard the entire conversation and swethalana…

After some time... In the Hall

Daadi: billu om kaha hai…??? ( Billu where is om)

Shivaay: mujhe nahi pata daadi...phone bhi nahi lag raha hai uska.. ( I have no idea grandma….I can’t even connect to him)

Jhaanvi: kya?? mera om .... god please keep him safe.. ( What?? My om…)..

Daadi: chinta mat karo jhanvi aajayega wo… bacha thodi hai wo ( Don’t worry jhanvi…he will come back…he isn’t a kid)

Ruvya’s room

Rudy: ( fisting his hair tightly) kuch nahi jaanta ki aakhir ho kya raha hai... pehli baar daadi ne O par hath uthaya... o ki kya galti thi us mein ?? voh sirf apni beevi ki jaan bachana chahta tha... ( I don’t understand what is happening in this house….It’s the first time that grandma had slapped O…what was O’s mistake in it…he just wanted to protect his wife…is it wrong)

Bhavya:(caressing his hair) rudy yahan dekheye....bhaiyya hain bhabhi ke saath ....unhe kuch nahi hoga... bhaiya ka pyaar he unki taakat banega and wahi pyaar gauri bhabhi ki jaan bhi bachayega ( Rudy look up here……O brother is there with SIL…and he won’t let anything happen to her…They love each other a lot and this love only will become their Strength and will protect gauri SIL)

Rudy: (hugged her tight.) I hope jald se jald sab kuch theek hojaye.... i miss my old family.....I can’t see my O broken like this…( I hope everything gets back to normal again)

Bhavya: ( consoling him) sab theek ho jaega... aur waise omkara bhaiyya kaha gai?? itni raat hogai aur...vaapas bhi nahi aaye hain ab tak... ( Everything will be alright…..Bdw where is Omkara bro…it’s late now and he hasn’t returned back yet)

Rudy: ( wiping his tears) voh bhavya ...O ne mujhe phone karke bass itna kaha ki "bhabhi ki kyaal rakhna.." ( Bhavya O just called me to say that “take care of SIL”)

Bhavya: acha theek hai….shayad kaam mein busy honge.. ( ok that’s fine..must be busy in work)

Rudy : hmm...aur haan...bhavya tum na jaake bhabhi ki khayaal rakhna please ...unhe hosh aagaya hoga…....agar unhone kisiko nhn dekha toh wo panic bhi kar sakti hain… ( Bhavy aplease take care of SIL…..she must be conscious now….And she might just panic on not seeing anybody near her after waking up)

Bhavya: haa aap chinta mat kijiye rudy ...mein dekhti hoon.... ( you don’t worry rudy…I will look after her)

Rikara’s room

Here gauri was sitting awake and was in big thoughts....

Bhavya: ( opening the door) bhabhi....kaisi hain aap...?? theek lag raha hai na aapko ( SIL….how are you now??? You feel better right??)

Gauri: ( staring)  theek hain hum bhavya.... omkara ji kahan gai ( I’m fine bhavya…where is omkara ji) and gets a little tensed

Bhavya: bhabhi...bhabhi.... aap shaant rahiye....voh kahin baahar gaye hain ..shayad kaam pe busy honge... ( SIL calm down….relax…He has gone outside…Must be busy in work)

Gauri: haa...  ( yeahh) aao…bhavya tum wahan khadi kyun ho…betho nah yahaan pe and points next to her ( Bhavya why are you still standing there…come in and take a seat)

Bhavya: ( closing the door) ji bhabhi….aate hain… ( yes SIL I will come)

Bhavya settles down next to her and says bhabhi agar aap bura na mane toh kya hum aapse ek sawaal pooch sakte hain ( SIL if you don’t mind may  I ask you a question)

Gauri: haan bhavya zaroor…isme koi poochne ki baat hai kya bhala… ( Yes bhavya sure….Is there anything  to ask in this…)

Bhavya: ( tensed) bhabhi wo hum aapse poochna chahte the ki aapne sabse jhoot kyun kaha ( SIL I actually wanted to ask you why did you lie to everyone in the home)

Gauri:(stiffening) jhoot..??kaunsa jhoot?? ( lie?? Which lie)

Bhavya: bhaabhi hamne aapki aur doctor ki saari baat sun li thi ...  ( SIL I had you and the doctor talking)

Gauri: bhavya voh darazal...( Bhavya that was )

Bhavya: bhabhi aapko koi explanation dene ki zaroorat nahi hai... I know ki aapne jo kuch bhi kiya hoga wo soch samjh kar he kiya hoga ( SIL you don’t have to give me any sort of explanation…I know you must have taken such a step after a lot of thought)

Gauri understood what bhavya was saying and thanks her for understanding her…

Gauri: waise time kya hua hai bhavya?? ( Bhavya what is the time)

Bhavya: bhabhi 1 :30am ...kya hua... ( bhabi it’s 1:30 am…what happened)

Gauri: bhavya tum thak gai hongi.. jaake aaram karo…hum theek hain abhi...( Bhavya you must be tired,….Go and rest I am ok right now)

Bhavy: nhn bhabhi…jab tak omkara bhaiya nhn aa jaate hum yahin rahenge aapke saath…agar aapko kisi cheez ki zaroorat pad gyi toh…nhn nhn.. ( NO sil…I will saty here with you until Omkara bRo returns back…..What if you need something…I can’t risk it)

Gauri: nhn bhavya…hume kisi cheez ki zaroorat nhn hai…hum theek hain….aur hume yeh bilkul acha nhn lagega agar humari wajah se tumahri tabiyat bigad gyi toh…isiliye jaao aur aaram karo ( NO bhavya…I am absolutely fine….And I don’t need anything…I wouldn’t like you falling sick because of me…so please go and rest)

Bhavya: ( sighing) theek hai bhabhi...nein jaati hoon...agar aapko kuch bhi chayite toh batana...ok.. ( okk SIL I will leave but if you need anything then tell me)

Gauri: haa... ( okay)

Saying this bhavya leaves….
Rudra is passing through the hall when he sees a drunk omkara getting inside…and rudra is shocked seeing his O in that condition….He hurries up to go and give support to his Brother….

Rudra: O yeh aapne itni kyun pi rakhi hai..( O why are you drunk)

Omkara: kya karun rudra…..ek yehi hai jisse main apne gam baant sakta hoon…( what should I do rudra..This is the only thing that I can share may sorrows with)

Rudra: O kam se kam bhabhi ke bare main toh sochte…kya beetegi un par jab wo aapko aise haalat main dekhengi toh…. ( O you should have atleast thought about SIL…what will she go through seeing you in this condition)

Rudra helps omkara reach his room… and as soon as he opens the door..gauri comes running seeing omkara stumbling

Gauri ( panicking) : rudy bahiya kya hua hai inko ( Rudy bhaiya what has happened to him)

Rudra: kuch nhn bhabhi O ne daaru pi rakhi hai…( Nothing much SIL…he is just drunk) aap chinta mat kijiye main abhi lemonade leke aata hoon….usse nasha kam hojaega ( Don’t worry SIL I will get the lemonade…it will help O )

Gauri: theek hai rudy bahiya hum tab tak inko thande paani ke neeche bitha dete hain…shayad kuch farak pad jaaye ( OK….rudy bro..I will till then make him sit under the cold shower It will help him)

Gauri takes om to the bathroom and makes him sit under the shower….

Om…: (drunk) gau…gauri..tum theek hogyi …kaisa lag raha hai tumhe…pta hai main kitna dar gya tha tumhe behosh dekh ke ( gauri….You are fine now….How are you feeling now…You know I was so scared whenyou feel unconscious ) and hold her had tightly

Gauri: omkara ji hum theek hai aap abhi chup chaap bethiye….kya zaroorat thi itna peene ki….aapko pta hai na ki hume nhn pasand hai aapka itna peena….kyun karte hain aap aise… ( omkara ji I am fine…you just be quiet and sit here…What was the need for you to drink so much..you know my disliking towards this then why)

Omkara: gussa mat ho gauri …I am sorry and holds his ears… tumhe theek dekh ke na main bahut khush hoon gauri…meri jaan chali gyi tumhe behhosh dekh ke….main na tumhe kho nhn sakta gauri….bahut pyaar karta hoon main tumse…I love you a lot gauri  ( Don’t be angry gauri…..I am very happy seeing you fine and hearty now….You know I dies a thousand deaths seeing you ill….. You know I can’t lose you for anything gauri…I love you so much gauri….i really do) and smiles like a baby……
