FOUR MONTHS LATER.

It was the day Callum and I would be leaving for Erinhurst with Mr. McGregory. Since he loved travelling so much, this would be a start to his dreams and one day, maybe he'd make it to his most beloved destination - Harkfeld.

Mr. McGregory occasionally travelled to farms in other nations and countries, and when Callum asked to tag along, the farmer was happy to oblige. Callum wanted me to go with him, and I was excited for it as well. So here we were, at the train station.

"And your mosquito repellent?" Ed asked.

"Yes."

"And your hair oil?"

"Yes."

"And that polka dot scarf?"

"Yes."

"And that corset for--"

"Yes!"

"And me?"

"Ye- Ed!" I chided.

She raised her palms with a cheeky grin. "I'm done!"

Beside her, Isabelle chuckled. "Have a safe trip, Rose." She smiled at me.

I returned the smile. We had become quick friends over the past few months, especially due to the Gareth incident. It had taken guts, togetherness and quite some time, but Gareth had officially been sacked as choir master and replaced with a jumpy eccentric woman who'd arrived the previous month. I was finally able to sing in the choir with everyone else, and I couldn't have been happier.

Levi and Isabelle had been instrumental to my success and I'd gained them as good friends. Callum finally got to be the brave knight for me. He'd stood up for me against Gareth multiple times, and he was always there for emotional support.

"Madam Felicienne is going to surely miss you," Levi said with a grin. "Come back soon so she won't moan about you."

I chuckled. Madam Felicienne was the new choir mistress who thought my voice was a 'blessing to mankind.'

"We'll see about that," I quipped, then turned to my mother, who was currently heavily engrossed with none other than the troublesome Inspector Raphael's lips.

I sighed. "Can the two of you please be present for my business for one second!" I scolded, snapping my fingers in front of them.

They pulled away and mother looked at me with a dazed look. "Huh? Oh yes. The pigs over there. Don't let them fly."

I rolled my eyes as everyone else laughed.

Oh, she was seriously gone for him.

Inspector Raphael wrapped an arm round mother's shoulders and turned to me with a lopsided grin. "Keep the damage you do over there to a minimum, okay?"

My jaw dropped. "How great of faith you have in me!"

He scoffed. "If you were with Serge, I wouldn't be letting you go at all."

"Hey!" Ed and I chorused, appalled.

The whistle of the train let us know it was about to set off, and so did Mr. McGregory's voice, who had already boarded.

"Rosa! Let's go!"

I quickly gave them all hugs, ending with my parents. "Tell Jerry he better watch his eyebrows when I come back," I instructed them.

That little rascal didn't come to see me off because he had a 'date.' Date, my arse. Whatever happened to family first? The Vaughn family and Linda did come to drop Callum off and had left shortly after, leaving us with these ones. If Abe could come with Linda to see Callum off, why couldn't Jerry bring his date along?

I accepted Callum's hand as he helped me up on board the train. We waved back at our friends and family as the train set off, and didn't stop until we couldn't see them anymore.

I would surely miss them, but my excitement for this journey into another country with Callum trumped that feeling.

My hand warmed as Callum held it, and I turned to face him.

"Are you okay?" he asked me.

I nodded, smiling. "I just can't wait for what lies ahead. You?"

He beamed. "Everything's okay when I'm with my Rose," he replied. "No better feeling than being with the person I love."

My eyes widened as my heartbeat quickened. Had he just...implied that he loved me?

A tug from his hand had me moving forward.

"Let's find our coach," he said easily, like he hadn't just thrown upon me a confession of love.

I followed in silence as he led me by the hand, my eyes staring at the back of his head.

He didn't even give me a chance to respond! What would I respond, anyway?

That I-

The End.
