Hey everyone and WELCOME to the tenth episode of the SECOND VOLUME of RWBY: (Genius Gamer Shadow) Ex-Aid Reader x Ruby Rose! So, to recap once again, I DO NOT OWN RWBY AND I DO NOT OWN KAMEN RIDER EX-AID!! RWBY is owned by RoosterTeeth and Kamen Rider Ex-Aid is owned by Toei. So, now sit back, enjoy and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!

3rd Person's POV:

The full moon is shining over the ruined buildings of Mountain Glenn, and a lone Beowolf is searching through the rubble. It looks up briefly at the young girl who has it in her red crosshair scope, but Ruby Rose just lowers Crescent Rose and sighs in tiredness at she keeps a lookout over the destruction.

Shadow, Tenka, and the rest of Team RWBY were still lying down on their sleeping mats around the fire with our weapons nearby, and Doctor Bartholomew Oobleck is higher up, slumped down against the wall next to the hole in the ceiling/floor. Tenka was still sleeping peacefully, his hand still clasped on Blake's hand, with his wolf now found sleeping beside him.

My POV:

I, on the other hand, uncomfortably shifting on my mat, sweating cold bullets, as if I was having a worse nightmare. Which I actually am currently having. Inside my dream, I was in a city in ruins, fire spread rapidly. a woman's voice kept repeating my name too many times, followed by a man or some monster saying my name too many times until it came to the point I can't take it anymore, add the fact my right hand was searing in cold pain as well. Then suddenly, I sat up from my mat, breathing heavily, but not noisily enough to disturb the others. I then looked around find I'm still with your team, and I gasped for air then sighed in relief.

Me: (In head) A n-nightmare? Huh, well that's a fir-- Ah!!!

My right hand suddenly burned in cold pain again. I looked over my gloved hand, and was surprised to see it glowing eerily underneath the fabric of my glove. Deciding not to spook Ruby, who is still keeping a lookout over the demolished buildings, I silently transfigured my body into snow form and floated up all the way to the top of the building inconspicuously.

When I finally reached the top, I reverted back to my original form. The pain in my hand became too painful to bear, making me rip the glove right out of my hand, and tried letting out my Semblance out of it in frustration. Just then, I was incredibly shocked when a light beam and a Buzzsaw-like shuriken made of ice was projected out from my palm skyward.

Me: Whoa!

The glow was faint, but I felt incredible power within the beam and that ice shuriken. snowflakes and flurries were gathering up at the base of my palm. I just hoped no Grimm would come over to check it out. After a minute or two, I closed my palm to stop the beam, gathered up all the power within it, and slammed my fist down, creating a small circular shockwave around the roof. I heaved out a sigh in exhaustion, and stood up. I looked down at my hand in amazement before it turned into a surprised one again. The mark on my right palm was not found. I were relieved to see it is finally gone, but when I tried to summon some of my powers in my palm, only to see the mark again, but in a different way. Instead, the mark took the form of some kind of similar to a runic circle, floating a couple of centimeters off my palm with ice shards floating on top of the circle.

Then, the ice shards that were floating on top of the circle began to shake violently.

Me: Huh?

Out of curiousity, I leaned forward to take a closer look, but when they started glowing up by the second before it slowly cracked,

Me: Ooooohhh.... FUCK!

I withdrew my face back quickly, before it literally exploded, which I narrowly avoided by backflipping, and for some reason, I felt some of my Aura drained. When I landed back down, I was astonished to see a perfect, solid ice copy of myself in the same position I was at before the ice shards exploded.

Me: This... is new. Where did this come from? And... how in the world did I do that?

I continue to grew fascinated by my new abilities. It seemed that my Semblance had just gained two new abilities: Creating anything made out of ice to explode at will, and create and leave an Ice copy of myself. I was really mesmerized by the new power as I had never experienced any change in my Semblance before. Howling was then heard from the distance and I quickly realized that I was supposed to be on bed and not testing out my new abilities at this time of the night.

----MEANWHILE----

Yang's POV:

Tenka and the three members of RWBY have their eyes closed, but I was the first to stop pretending.

Me: Blake, are you awake?

Blake: Yeah.

Tenka had just pretended to be asleep as he listened to their conversation.

Me: Why do you think he asked us about being a Huntress? Like, what was he trying to say?

Blake: Maybe he was just curious.

Me: You think?

Blake: No.

Me: Weiss, are you awake?

As Yang asks this, Weiss snaps at her, making her cringe up a bit.

Weiss: Of course I'm awake! You two are talking. And I think he... When I said I wanted to honor my family's name, I meant it. But, it's not what you think. I'm not stupid. I'm fully aware of what my father has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has operated in a... moral gray area.

Blake: That's putting it lightly.

Weiss: Which is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father was not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it. How about you, Tenka? Tenka? Are you awake?

Tenka: Not like it's easy to sleep when a huge-sized wolf is suddenly sleeping on your stomach now, which really makes it hard for breathing to sleep at.

Tenka's first sense of humor for tonight made the girls laugh slightly before turning serious again, but Tenka stayed lying there, listening to the three teammates talk about their reasons for being here as he stayed still and silent.

Tenka: When he asked me why I wanted to become a Huntsman I meant whatI said as well. I may be an offspring of fame and being the protector of my hometown, but I have my own legacy to uphold, not just family's. Protecting a village is something that changed me, it changed everything about me. Why I am here now is because, maybe it's really the fact I want to experience something new. Something worth really living for that could benefit all man, woman, and child alike.

Blake: All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone. I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that. When I leave the Academy, what will I - how can I undo so many years of hate?

Me: I'm sure you'd figure it out.

Tenka: Yang's right, Blake. You're not one to back down from a challenge.

Blake: But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran! When I realized my oldest partner had become a monster, I ran! Even my... Semblance! I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself; an empty copy that takes the hit while I run away!

Tenka: Then this time, you don't have to. I'll make sure of it.

Tenka smiles softly at her as she takes her hand, giving a small squeeze in reassurance. Blake seems reluctant for moment, but eventually returns the gesture with her own smile, and a returning squeeze.

Me: At least you three have something that drives you. I've just kinda of always, gone with the flow, y'know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for? I wanna be a Huntress, not really because I want to be a hero, but because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that. I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, ever since she was a kid, she'd dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day, and never asking for anything else in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today.

Weiss: Well, she's still just a kid.

Blake: She's only two years younger.

Tenka: We're all kids.

Me: Well, not anymore. I mean, look where we are! In the middle of a warzone and armed to the teeth!

Blake: It's the life we chose.

Tenka: And stressing over the future isn't going to calm the situation were in right now. We're doing our jobs as Huntsmen and Huntresses, protecting the people from Grimm. Whether we like it or not, we just have to keep moving forward and deal with whatever crisis may happen along the way.

Weiss: Tenka's right. It's a job. We all had this romanticized vision of being a Huntsman or a Huntress in our heads! But at the end of the day, it's a job to protect the people! And whatever we want, will have to come second.

Up top, the apparently-sleeping Oobleck has a small smile when she finishes. Just as they finished their small uplifting talk, it was only then when Yang noticed someone with them is missing, a certain boy with red and blue hair.

Me: Wait a minute, where's Sha--

Just before she could finish her sentence, a snow flurry floated down in the hole above. Out of it came Shadow, crouching down with a large smile on my face.

Shadow: You guys are never gonna believe what just happened.

Shadow then tried explaining to us about how I gained new abilities over my Semblance and started showing it to them (minus the exploding one since Tenka warned him not to suddenly disturb Max in her sleep for it could cause some "wolf fight" trouble. I was amazed by it, but some had their skeptical opinions about it. While Shadow and the others were having a small conversation, Ruby walked over to him with Zwei following close behind her.

Ruby: Hey, um.. anyone up for taking watch next?

Shadow: I got it.

Ruby: Thanks, Shadow

Shadow: No sweat. Now, get some rest, Rubes.

Ruby:
I will. Night, Shadow. Love you.

Shadow: Sweet dreams, and I love you too....

My POV:

I gave Ruby a peck on the forehead, much to her bashfulness, then swapped places. I walked my way on the lookout point near the campfire as Ruby sat down on her sleeping mat and began to fall asleep, with Zwei making small circles before finally lying down beside her. I sat down at the small lookout area, and drew my weapon from my back and into my lap. A minute later, you see Tenka's wolf slowly walking up to me.

Me: Gonna help me watch for tonight, Max?

He only barked while yawning in response, as he then made his way beside me. I scratched underneath his chin, before I picked up my weapon and activate its gun mode, and aimed it down towards the streets below as I started surveying the streets below, looking for any signs of Grimm.

---Timeskip---

Unknown to me while I was at my post with Tenka's wolf, Zwei suddenly wakes and stands up from the mattress Ruby is lying on, causing her to wake up.

Ruby: Huh? Zwei, it's late. Go back to bed.

Then Zwei finally runs off.

Ruby: Zwei! Zwei! Ugh! Why can't you be more behave like Max....

Ruby's POV:

Much to my frustration due to the fact I need to get up, I then wandered out of the building, looking for Zwei.

Me: Zwei! Zwei, where are you? Zwei! Huh?

I spoted a Pembroke Welsh Corgi urinating on some ruins.

Me: Zwei, this is a wasteland! You literally could have done that anywhere!

Zwei: Bark!

White Fang Guard 1:
What was that?

Having heard the WF Guard, I picked up Zwei and hid behind some ruins.

White Fang Guard 2: What was what?

White Fang Guard 1: I thought I heard a Beowolf or something.

White Fang Guard 2: Hmph. Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base. This place gives me the creeps.

As the White Fang Guards walk away, me and Zwei sneak around in the background, following them. They eventually reach a ruined building with a pair of metal doors, and I hid behind a corner, holding Zwei out to watch them.

Me: Did they go in yet? One bark means yes.

The sound of the door closing echoes out.

Zwei:
Bark!

Me: Oh! This is it! This is it!

I brought out a small scroll and tried to call my teammates. However, the screen says "Low Signal"

Me: Aw man! Come on, we gotta get the others!

Me and Zwei hurried off down the street. However, the asphalt beneath us suddenly sinks before caving in. I grabbed onto a ledge and caught Zwei. I then tossed him up out of the hole and begins to attempt to pull myself up. However, the ledge I was still holding onto broke off, and I plummeted into a huge cave filled with ruined buildings, far below the surface. I landed on a building up against a cavern wall, and as I got up, a nearby door bursts open to reveal two other White Fang Guards, one of whose name is Perry.

White Fang Guard: Freeze!

White Fang Guard (Perry): Where did she come from?

As the White Fang Guards walk forward, I backed away only to end up on the very edge of the platform.

White Fang Guard: You're a long way from home, little girl.

I reaches back for my scythe, only to realize that I don't have it. Both guards approach me, and one of them grabbed my arm.

Me: Hey! Hands off!

I jerked my arm out of the guard's hand and started punching him. It has very little effect, just as the White Fang Guard was about to strike me down, someone whacked my face hard enough to knock me down with his weapon.

???: Just keep your mouth shut!

White Fang Guard: Hey, who are you?

???: My name is Graphite. I was sent here to be of service to Roman by my boss with four others before me.

Graphite hand gestures behind him to show four other bugsters.

White Fang Guard (Perry): Well.... ain't that a surprise. Very well then. The boss is gonna want to see this one...

???: Oh, it would be lovely to bring er there now, now would it?

White Fang Guard (Perry): Hmmm... yeah...

The guard then kicks me in the head hard once again, hard enough to knock me out.

------Timeskip------

My POV:

It had been a while since I started my lookout shift, and I began feeling tired at it. I picked up the fluffy wolf snoozing beside me, then stood up. And boy he is heavy..., and went over to the campfire to swap shifts with Yang, whose turn was next. Placing the wolf gently beside between a sleeping Tenka and Blake, I called out for Yang, but...

Me: Hey Yang, it's your tu---... Ruby?

Just now that I spotted Ruby was not with them. Her mattress was empty, her weapon and Zwei were nowhere to be seen as well. That was when, I immediately freaked out, out of nowhere.

Me: Where's Rubes? Where's Ruby!? HEY!!!!!! WE ARE ALL SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING EACH OTHER, AND NOW SHE'S MISSING!!!!

Oobleck: What?

Me: She's not in here, doc. Her weapon's missing's t--

Just then, Zwei comes bounding down into the room, barking in an almost urgent way. This erased the whole group's drowsiness as they started waking up.

Blake: What's going on?

Oobleck: Grab your weapons! Your leader may be in trouble.

Tenka: You thinking something happened, Doctor?

Oobleck: It would appear so, Mr. Kaito.

Me: Of all the stupidest things she could do, she had ti---

Oobleck: I'm sure Ms. Rose had a reason for not informing us on her actions. But right now, it would be easier to find out what that reason is by asking her yourself once we find her, Mr. Wrath.

Me: Then what the heck are we waiting for then?! And it's Doctor!!

Tenka: Cap, we have no idea where she could be. Mountain Glenn is massive and she could be anywhere for all we know!

Blake: He's right, Shadow. There's no way to find her, unless you want to search the whole city.

I began groaning in aggravation and tension, trying not to imagine the worst possible ways of she'll be hurt in this desolated wasteland. Just then, Zwei began barking again as if to tell me and the others something. We all looked over to him as he ran around in circles, while cocking its head outside. This made you think of something.

Tenka: What is it, Shadow?

Me: If Zwei was with Ruby, maybe he can lead us to where she is!

Oobleck: Hmm, you may be right with your proposition, Dr. Wrath. Scouring the entire ruins of this city is highly redundant. Very well then! Follow that canine!

Zwei then barked happily and rushed out of the building, and we all began chasing after him, but not before Tenka packed Max back in his huge duffel bag, much to his displeasement. After a few second, Zwei leads me and the others to a hole, which I then assumed, that Ruby fell into, and Yang spots her weapon next to the hole.

Yang: Ruby's scythe!

Blake: Oh no.

Weiss: Do you think she fell?

Oobleck: Fell?

Much to me and Tenka's confusion, Oobleck began looking up, as if he thought Ruby had fallen from the sky.

Weiss: Down there.

He then looks down at the hole, and he suddenly realized something immediately.

Oobleck: Oh my. Of course! Of course, OF COURSE, OF COURSE!

Blake: What is it?

Oobleck: How could I be so stupid?!

Tenka: Care to share the assumption, Doctor?!

Yang: Dr. Oobleck, what's wrong?

Oobleck: Mountain Glenn! Yes, an expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by creatures of Grimm! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system to the inner city! Grimm attacks increased! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into the metro tunnels and what do they find? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for wild forests and deep caves!

Me: You're saying..... what exactly?

Oobleck: My boy, we're not just looking for an underground crime network, we're looking for an UNDERGROUND crime network!

Me: Well, Good to know. Any more obvious statements that I should know of?

Tenka: Cap!

Blake: They've been working in caves?

Tenka: Not exactly, Blake.

Oobleck: Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period of time, thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation; the city developed an elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main Kingdom! Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect its borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start! As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt at survival: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface!

Yang: An underground village?

Me: That's a bit.... sinister.... for a crime network....

Oobleck: In a matter of speaking, yes. A safe haven. Until... an explosion opened the mouth of another cavern, filled with subterranean Grimm. After that, the Kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. If Ruby is down there,

Oobleck deploys his weapon, which I assumed it was the canister Oobleck had from the start of the trip.

Oobleck: We must find her...

Tenka: Remind me not to drink anything from the thing when we get back, Cap.

Me: As Rachel would've liked to say, partner, "Ditto". But right now... (deploys Parablade) Let's beat the candy ass outta these peoples and save Ruby!
