Backstory: at a young age Ryan wanted to help people but when he witnessed his father get killed by grimm protecting him he vowed to never let what happened to him happen to other family's, he spent the next decade training himself to being the ultimate grimm killer taking lessons from his combat teacher qrow on how to use a scythe and lessons from tai on how to fist fight (though hes not very good at it he can still use his fists to protect himself). A year after his father's death he met his future best friend yang, he also met a young cat faunas who he protected from a group of racists (though he can't remember what her name was)
