i wish that it hadn't taken so long
to gain familiarity,
that we had more conversations,
more laughs shared in the back of the classroom.
making friends is so frustratingly tedious;
so "follow the pattern and maybe you'll have a chance,"
act normal until you don't have to;
but you were a kindred spirit.
