As everyone was getting ready for the Out of this World circus show, Joseph's phone began to to ring. "Hello?"
"Joseph! Where are you, I've been worried sick!"
"Mom, calm down I'm in Philadelphia getting ready to perform for the Out of this World show all on my own. Can you believe it?! I'm performing by myself as a real circus ringmaster!"
"No son, I can't believe it." The auburn haired boy smiled with happiness believing that his mother is very proud of him.
"You know what else I can't believe?" He shook his head in confusion.
"I can't believe I ended up with a son like you." Joseph's smiled turned to a frown. "Mom, I don't understand."
"Of course you don't understand! I have spent 16 years raising you to become a practical young man and now that shown interest in that, that horrible circus, you decided to give up on your dreams of becoming a doctor, lawyer or even a politician!" Joseph sighed heavily. "I'm not giving up on my dreams, I'm giving up on your dreams. Your expectations of what you want me to be. I don't wanna to be all that. I wanna be a circus ringmaster. I want to make people happy and give something for parents to tell their children and their grandchildren about for years to come." Sylvia scowled. "Why I did I end up with a son like you? You're nothing like me in any way. I don't even consider you my son anymore." With that, she hung up leaving the boy in tears. Rose was with the circus elephants until she heard muffled sobbing coming from a dressing room. She went over to see where the crying is coming from. She gently knocked on the door. "Hello? Is everything okay in there?" The cries got louder. "Joseph?"
"Is that you, Rose?"
"Yes and please let me in."
"The door's unlocked." She walked in wearing a glizty pink and black circus outfit. She found her friend crying up a storm. "What's wrong?"
"It's my mom, that's what's wrong!" He snapped. Rose backed away, Joseph would never snap at her like that. "I know it's usually Ruby who has the witty comebacks and zingers about her but, what made you say that?" He wiped away his tears explaining to her on how she wanted him to be something she wants him to be and how he doesn't want to be all that and live up to her expectations. He even mentioned how she disowned him just like that for wanting to live his dream. The same dream he has held onto since he was only 4 years old. She wrapped her arms around his waist saying, "It's going to be okay, you have me and Ruby supporting and being there for you." He gave her sad smile. "Really?"
"Yeah, because we're friends, 'til the end of the line." He looked over to Rose who held out her hand to him. He took her hand and wore his top hat. "Now, let's show them what the Greatest Show on Earth can do." The circus went on and loads of people decided to support Ruby and her friends to save the circus from taking its final bow. "We're getting more and more circus supporters." Ruby said looking at her phone. She got loads of positive feedback after going live on Facebook. "Come now, Joseph, your mom's been holding you back from your dream since the beginning."
"You're actually right, Ruby. She has no right to shatter dreams like that. As a young ringmaster in training, it's my responsability to not let anyone give up on their big dreams!"
