With the others, they were riding in the Mystery Machine and cruising down the road, heading to Old Coolsville. It was rather awkward between Velma and Patrick. When Velma moved to get comfortable, her suit made a loud squeaky noise, "That was my outfit, I swear." It was silent again until Patrick speaks up. "You know, Velma, you are as beautiful as ever." He says, making Velma smile. Gwen looks back and smiles at some progress being made.

"You're just so different than I expected. You know, I just-" But before Patrick could continue, sirens were heard making everyone look to find police cars in front of the Coolsonian Criminology Museum. "Oh my goodness!" Velma gasps.  "What the heck's going on?" Fred asks, parking the van in front of the museum and everyone gets out quickly. "My museum." Patrick says worriedly, rushing into the Coolsonian to see the damage. "Wait!" Velma calls out to him, chasing after him.

"Any comments on the museum robbery?" Heather Jasper-Howe asks, holding her mic in front of Fred, followed by other reporters and cameramen. "Mystery Inc. is currently investigating the two stolen costumes." Fred answers, a little unsure. "No, the one that just happened. The one where the Black Knight and Pterodactyl Ghost stole the rest of the costumes?" Heather Jasper-Howe corrects. "R-rest... of the... c-costumes?" Fred stutters, not sure if he heard that right. Kevin rushed inside as Daphne and Gwen share a look of shock.

Patrick and Velma enter the museum, seeing that it was true. The rest of the costumes have been stolen. Kevin follows after and sees that the place has been cleared out. He scoffs, "Of course. They took more costumes to make more monsters." He mutters, feeling like punching something. But he looks over at Velma and Patrick, who is devastated, and calms down, deciding to give them some alone time.

"So, what you're saying it's downhill for Mystery Inc.?" Heather Jasper-Howe questions. "No! Hey, you're doing that thing again when you take everything I say out of context. You're trying to make it look I think Coolsville sucks!" Fred says, angrily. But then he notices the camera pointed at him and what he just said. "No! Don't record that!" He says quickly. He hurries away and Gwen goes to them with a stern look, "Alright. No more questions." She states, and walks off.

Back in the museum, Patrick picks up a costume stand and tosses it away upset. The museum he had put so much time and effort in, was robbed and damaged. Twice. "Patrick, I'm so sorry. It must be so hard for you." Velma says, feeling bad for him. "I'm sorry. I have to go. Okay?" Patrick says, about to leave. "Well, I'll go with you-" "No! Just-" Patrick yells. But realizing he accidentally lashed out at Velma. He takes a moment to regain some of his bearings. "No, I have to figure out what's going on." He tells her, then leaves. Velma watches him leave and feels sad that things didn't work out. She pulls down her zipper to reveal her orange sweater underneath and then leaves as well.

The others walk back to the van, everything becoming more and more stressful. Gwen sees Kevin as he walks to her with a solemn look. "Are they-" "Gone? Yes. Not one costume left behind." He tells her. She takes his hand as they enter the van. They were about to head to the mines, but, "All Fred Jones had to say was, 'I think Coolsville sucks!'" The small TV in the dashboard plays, as Heather Jasper-Howe reports. "In light of the city's recent chaos..." Fred slams his head against the wheel, not happy with that woman making him look like the biggest jerk in the world. "Jones' response was disheartening to the many fans who have supported Mystery Inc. over the years. Perhaps it's time for the crime-solving gang to shape up or ship out."

Daphne looks out the window and glares at Heather Jasper-Howe furiously. "I'll be right back." She gets out and marches towards the reporter. "I'll come with." Kevin says getting up to give that reporter a lesson, but Gwen stops him. "You need some time to cool off. I'll go with her." She says, and exits the van. She was almost to them when, "Because it's my job to unmask those who pretend to be who they're not." Heather Jasper-Howe says. This made Gwen stop. That sounded exactly like the Evil Masked Figure.

And she got to thinking. This reporter had been making Mystery Inc. look like fools and trying to tarnish their name. She takes things out of context and make it look bad. "Mystery Incorporated!" She was pulled out of her thoughts as she looks up to see the Evil Masked Figure standing on top of the museum. "Once again, you are proven useless against my power. Because soon Coolsville.... Will be MINE!" He says and disappears. "Darn it. Thanks a lot! The scoop of the night, gone. Can't you do anything right?!" Heather Jasper-Howe tells Daphne, putting her stuff away and walking off to do her job. "Ned, get your camera!"

Gwen walks next to Daphne and sees she has a sad look on her face. "Guess not." Daphne says. Gwen lays a hand on her shoulder, "Hey, don't listen to her. She doesn't know what she's talking about." She tells her. Daphne just nods, but didn't quite believe her. The two then start walking back to the Mystery Machine, but look back at the museum. Daphne with a sad look, but Gwen looked back with suspicion. Even if Heather Jasper-Howe wasn't the Evil Masked Figure, she still was out to get Mystery Inc.. She and Daphne enter the van.

Daphne sat in the front with Fred and Gwen in the back with Velma and sitting next to Kevin. Kevin notices her expression, "Hey, what's wrong?" He whispers to her. She looks at him, "I think these attacks are more personal than we thought." She states.
