Third-person POV

Lucas had been staring at the girl's back though his mouth was busy chewing his food. Something about her drew him to her- or maybe he was just curious about how she could see the old man. All of a sudden, he spotted his friends at the counter grabbing their meals for dinner, and his eyes rolled when he looked at his watch. 'Follow me' my ass, he scoffed to himself. He stood up after tidying up his space before making way toward the basin to put his tray.

As soon as Jungkook and the others took their seats, Jaehyun was the quickest to dig into his food, hunger engulfing him. Kai looked at him and shrugged it off, probably used to it. Baekhyun laughed, "Hey calm down, dude." His mouth was full but he insisted on talking, which made the crumbs from his mouth to scatter all over the table. His friends moved away from him simultaneously, couldn't believe the immature side of their friend. "EWWW THAT WAS GROSS BRO!" Rowoon exclaimed and received a teasing face from Baekhyun, "I don't care~" The others laughed as the two of them bickered.

"Err, Jungkook," just a low voice, the sounds of them laughing and arguing completely stopped, all eyes were glued on Irene. All of them wondered who this girl might be- or on what occasion for her to be here- but Jungkook. Sooyoung bit her lower lip as she stood a few tables away from them, didn't have the gut to get closer to those top students.

Sooyoung was suspicious when Irene kept asking her about Jungkook as soon as she saw him, she even caught her mumbling his name under her breath. Was it crush at first sight? That was possible since Jungkook was quite popular and his face alone was a blessing from god. But she wasn't sure if that's the case when she saw Irene's face as she approached them; it was icy cold- not a look you would give to your lover, but perhaps to your ex? She was surprised by her own thoughts, couldn't believe what she was thinking. Damn! She was his girlfriend?

Jungkook lifted his head up, only to meet a pair of cold eyes, staring right down at him. Her cold stare didn't affect Jungkook at all, yet she received the same cold, icy gaze from him. "Hello, it'd been a while now, ain't it brother?" Just those words from her mouth, some students were already turning to them, wondering in curiosity about what they heard just now. Even Lucas stopped on his way to them, brows knitted as he processed those words inside his head before advancing his steps towards his group of friends.

Instead of answering or saying hello- if it's even possible- looking away from her and right to his food, Jungkook reacted nothing, his face poker as ever as he continued to eat. Irene gritted her teeth, her hands turned into fists. Why was it so hard for him to bear with her? All she ever wanted was to have good terms with him, yet she never knew if there was a reason for them not to. Why is it so hard? "Just- what is wrong with you?" She said, this tone a little bit louder than before.

All of a sudden, Lucas showed up and surprised everyone as he went for the seat beside Kai. It did not take long until everyone's attention was back to Irene, even Jaehyun stopped digging into his food and so did the others. Lucas stared down at Irene, different than anyone else, his gaze showed how uninterested he was though his eyes never shifted to anything else other than her. They stared at each other for a few moments before Irene finally remembered that he was the guy who knocked her that morning, and she pointed her index finger at him. "You. You are that weird guy, right?"

Everyone else- even Jungkook- followed her eyes only to find out who she was talking to; Lucas. Sooyoung gawked at Irene. The first day of school and she be taking all the boys' attention? As she was too busy in her own thoughts, Lucas finally spoke up after a minute of silence. His face was still emotionless as if he hardly care about the girl even. "Yeah, maybe." He looked away as he leaned his back to his chair, nothing changed in his expression.

Irene rolled her eyes, couldn't believe the guy's attitude. She crossed her arms to her chest as she felt her blood rising. "Wow, you probably should check your morals. I think you left it behind somewhere." She scoffed. Baekhyun watched her in amazement, thinking whether he should befriend her for her savageness; he loves them. "Though your statement was a bit too much, I'm going to stan you for saying it out loud." Jaehyun laughed but his lips immediately turned into a pout after he received a glare from Lucas. Lucas then turned his head back to Irene, as both of them got into a glaring competition.

Jungkook who already had enough of it stood up from his seat as he grabbed Irene's hand and pulled her out of the dining hall, vanishing from everyone's sight the moment they stepped out of the door. Lucas watched them until they were gone and then knocked Jaehyun's head. "That hurts my pride, dude. Bros before hoes, remember?" Wincing as he rubbed the spot where Lucas hit him, the others laughed as if the commotion just now was nothing. Lucas chuckled at his friends' jokes but he often caught his eyes lingering at the entrance, curious of what was happening between Jungkook and Irene.
