Juvia's POV

"So, how's work, Juvia?" Lucy asked, drinking strawberry smoothie. Yes, she invited me out so we can hang out. We're at the park, sitting on the bench and peacefully drinking our smoothies.

"Hmm, its okay? How about you and Natsu?" I asked, drinking my strawberry smoothie. It's our favorite flavor. 

"Well, Natsu and I finally got to talk and he said that he saw you in America, with your grumpy boss." Lucy said, controlling her laughs. "Grumpy, haha."

"Oh yeah! Well, I'm glad that you two talked already." I said, remembering Natsu and Lucy together. You know, their love story is so cute. See, when we were in high school, Lucy and I were best friends and she had a secret crush on Natsu for a long time. When Feb. 14 came, Natsu did a surprise for her. He called her out in the gym, where students are playing and he asked her out. He confessed to her, gave her flowers and chocolates and they got together.

"..via."

"Hmm?" I reacted. I got too carried away and I didn't hear what she was saying. "S-Sorry, what?"

"A blind date."

"Blind date? What's with that?" I asked, not getting her.

"You didn't listen?" She sighed, drinking her smoothie. "As I was saying, I have set you up with a blind date tomorrow at 7:00 PM."

I gaped and stood up. "WHAT?!"

Lucy sweat a drop. "C-Calm down, Juvia."

"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN AT A TIME LIKE THIS?! YOU SET ME UP FOR A BLIND DATE!"

"First, sit down." I sat, a bit mad. "Second, breath." I rolled my eyes and breathed out. "Third, I'll explain."

"I'm mad because you set me up on something I'm not even aware about. Well sure, you informed me today but its tomorrow! And its a blind date." I pointed out.

"Don't worry, Juvia. He's a good guy." She said, drinking her smoothie. "Well, he used to be a heartbreaker and a playboy."

I immediately scooted over, getting far from her. She sweats a drop again. "H-Hey, he changed, I think."

"Give me ONE reason why you did this."

"Come on, Juvia. Don't get mad at me." She said, giggling a bit. "You're getting older and you still don't have a boyfriend so I thought, maybe I should find some guy for you."

"I love being single and besides, I have my mom." I bluntly said. Though, I like Gray-sama.

"But, you know, your mom wants you to be happy too." She said which made me sad and made the wind blow through my hair. "I want you to be happy too, you know? That's why I did this. He's a great guy. He might be a playboy before this but, I know he changed. We knew each other since highschool. We got in touch because of Natsu, well, they know each other too. Why don't you give it a shot, right? I mean, your mom won't be there for you for too long?"

"I know..." I murmured.

"Hi, mom. Sorry if I wasn't able to call you when I was at America." I said, kissing my mom on her forehead. I visited her because I got conscious about what Lucy said to me... In the end, I said yes to her and I'll go to the date. I forgot to ask the name, though and what he looks like. Maybe, I'll text her later?

"Its fine, Juvia. I know you're busy with your work." Mom said. She's really pale right now.

Mom has a heart disease and received many heart attacks before. Juvia's really glad that she's still with me here today... Or else, I don't know what to do with my life. Wait, is this what Lucy meant? When my mom is gone, I'll be all alone?

The doctor told me many times that mom's end is near... I have to be ready but yet, I don't wanna think about it. Lucy and the others know about it... She's not offending me earlier when she said that mom won't be here for too long.

"Mom." I called out and gave her a small, white envelope. "Mom, this is what my boss gave me. Please take it, for the hospital. You can give it to the nurse."

I don't know why but... Gray-sama suddenly gave me money yesterday when I helped him with his things. Is he pitying me, because of my mom? Or this is the way he thanks others? Wait, why would he thank me...

"Thank you, Juvia." Mom said, accepting the white envelope. Mom is Rainbow Lockser and her age is 62. She'll be 63 next 2 months.

Whenever the doctor tells me that she'll die, I always pray and be with her. She was confined here at the age of 58. Yes, I know... 4 years, huh? I'm glad that she lasted this long. I hope mom would get really well soon. Sometimes, I lie to people about mom getting okay... I just don't want any people to know... But, I wanna stop lying. Even my mom, doesn't know.

"Juvia, you should stop visiting me frequently. You're busy. I might be interfering your job." Mom said, lonely is seen in her voice.

I pulled my mom for a hug. "Mom, you're not interfering in my job. Don't worry."

"You sure?" Mom asked and I nodded. She lets go of the hug and looks at me in the eye. "Juvia, you're taking care of yourself, right?"

I nodded happily. "Of course, mom."

"No guys recently? Suitors?"

"W-Well... I kinda adore him." I said, pertaining to Gray-sama.

"Oh, your new boss?"

I turned to her, gaping. I'm shocked. "H-How did you know??" I haven't even talked about that to her. W-Why...

"Your friends visited me when you were at America." Mom said, smiling. "And told me about how you like your new boss."

I blushed. "M-Mom..!"

She giggled and winked. "Don't worry, I'll keep it as a secret. Besides, I don't have anyone to talk with me."

I frowned. That isn't making me feel any better. I suddenly felt a buzz in my pocket. I get my phone, opened it and it was a new message. It was from Lucy.

Juvia, I'll tell you the details about the guy later. He doesn't want me to say his name to you. Weird, right?"

I closed my phone. "Mom, Lucy set me up for a blind date."

"I know."

"H-How??" I looked at her, shocked again. This gets me nervous! Really...

"Lucy told me that she was planning that when she visited me." Mom said, looking at the window. "I... Approve of it. You should go."

"Really?" I asked.

"Yeah, its a nice shot for you." Mom said, smiling so pale.

If mom wants me to go, then I suppose... I'll go.
