Chapter 35

Bruce's POV

 Two surgeries down for Liz and only one more to go in three days time. I'm so proud of my baby girl, she's such a trooper. I knew T'Challa, Shuri, and Okoye would take a liking to her instantly. Shuri and her already swapped info. They have each other on every social media app/site as well each other's phone numbers. It's good for her to have another friend close to her age in addition to Wanda. Nat's her friend too but there are certain things Nat doesn't like to do that the other girls do and vice versa. 

  Liz and I are spending the day alone with each other. As much as we love and care for the others, we want some time alone with one another. Hulk wants some time with her too but I keep having to politely remind him that we're in a hospital, not some deserted area near the woods. If we were, I'd let him come out for a bit. I'm current eating lunch with her, which is spaghetti and meatballs for the both of us with apple juice for a drink. I smile softly at her. "It's good to see you eating Liz. I know you're not starving yourself but your appetite has decreased over the past couple of weeks."

   She nods in agreement. "You're not wrong there Bruce. I'm down ten pounds from what I weighed before. I mean that isn't a bad thing for me personally but I don't think I should lose anymore than that. There's such thing as being too skinny too. People may begin to think I'm developing an eating disorder..." I sigh. "I hate how people have the tendency to jump to conclusions so fast these days. I love saving humanity but there are times as a hero where I feel like I shouldn't bother doing so."

     Liz looks at me sadly. "I can only imagine how heavy that weight is on your shoulders Bruce. You inspire me so much though. You're so strong emotionally, physically, and mentally. You scare the living daylights out of the bad guys but at the same time have made history for your scientific breakthroughs. Anyone would be lucky to come half as close to being as good and skilled as you are." I tear up and look at her with pure love. "I'm so blessed to have you. I can't say it enough. I love you. I can't wait for you to be my wife. We're going to have such an amazing wedding and our future together will be just as great too." 

    Liz and I then share a series of passionate kisses. The passionate can't even begin to be explained but the love is totally there. Her kisses melt my heart and her lips match mine so well. When we pull apart, both of us are breathless and need a minute to recover. We then burst into a giggle fit like the dorks we are before we finish our food. After we do, I throw away all of the trash, clean up the slight mess we made, and we relax for the rest of the day. I lie with her in bed, close to her but not too close because I don't want to screw up any of the machines that she is currently hooked up too.
