A girl in her early twenties was cleaning her bedroom when another girl of same age barged in her room.

A- Gauri, Tu kabhi araam se nahi aa sakti kya? Jab aati hai toofan ke saath aati hai.

G- Arey hum toh humesha se aise hi harharaike aate hai. Tum abhi bhi darr jaati ho kya?

Anika shook her head in disbelief.

G- Acha, main tujhe lene aayi hoon. Jaldi chal. Hum shopping ja rahe hain.

Gauri started dragging Anika to the main door.

A- Par mujhe meri stick toh lene de. Tujhe pata hai na mujhe dikhai nahi deta aur agar main kahi gir gayi ya takra gayi toh?

G- Tum un sab ki chinta mat karo. Main hoon na tumhare saath.

A- Theek hai. Chal.

Gauri made Anika sit in the passenger seat and they drove towards the shopping mall.

Finally they reached shopping mall. Gauri held Anika's hand and started rushing inside.

A- Dheere chal Gauri. Main gir jaungi.

G- Oh Sorry. Chal.

They did their shopping when Gauri saw one old friend of hers.

G- Anika, tum yahan ruko. Main abhi aati hoon. Kuch problem ho toh call me ok.

A- Par..

Before Anika completes her sentence, Gauri left from there.

A- Ab main kabhi bhi iss Gauri ke saath nahi aaungi, ye humesha mujhe aise beech mein akele chhod deti hai.

Anika tried to move to some corner instead of standing in the middle of the mall. She spread her hands in front to feel if there was any obstruction in the front or not. She slowly started taking steps to the front.

Suddenly she collided with a huge wall or that she thought but that wall held her hand to prevent her from falling down and she realised that it wasn't a wall but a man who is none other than Shivaay Singh Oberoi.

A- I am sorry.

But due to their collision, Shivaay's coffee fell on his coat. Shivaay angrily glares at her.

S- Andhi ho kya? Dekh ke nahi chal sakti thi. Mere poore kabde kharab kar diye.

A- Haan. Aap bhi andhe hai kya? Kyunki dikhai toh aapko bhi nahi diya.

Shivaay was stunned by her reply. He then realised that the girl standing in front of him was actually blind. He noticed her fine features of her face. Deer like eyes, perfectly sculpted nose, full lips, brown wavy hair and fair, bright skin.

At the same time, Gauri came running towards Anika.

A- Ab main tere saath kabhi bhi nahi aaungi. Tu hamesha mujhe akela chhod ke chali jati hai. Aur aaj issi wajah se woh badtameez aadmi mere upar chilla ke gaya. Agar main dekh paati toh ye sab kabhi nahi hota.

Tears of frustration flew from Anika's eyes. Gauri also felt guilty for leaving her alone.

Gauri hugged her.

Anika got down from her car and went inside the cafe after bidding bye to Gauri.

Romi saw Anika and ran towards her.

R- Anika ma'am. Good morning.

A- Good morning Romi. How are you this morning?

R- Good ma'am.

Romi says with a smile.

A- Romi. Can you get me my stick from my locker?

R- Sure ma'am.

Romi went inside locker room and got Anika's stick and gave it to her.

A- Thank you.

The whole cafe was busy when Shivaay entered with Tia, who was just clinging to him .

T- Baby, main kahan baithoon?

S(thinks) - Zameen mein.

Shivaay was least interested in her.

He called the manager and he guided them to a table. Romi came to their table and asked their orders.

T- One Waldorf salad and green tea for me.

S- An Espresso.

Romi nods her head and left from there.

T- Shivaay baby, tumhe pata hai kal ke newspaper mein humari pic aayi thi aur main uss pic mein kitni hot lag rahi thi.

Tia continued her bickering and Shivaay was least interested in her not-so important talks.

His eyes were roaming around the cafe when he noticed Anika talking to the waitress who took their order.

R- Ma'am, actually table no. 7 ke customer ne Espresso order ki hai aur woh coffee beans humare stock se khatam ho gaye hain.

A- Americano ban sakti hai?

Anika counted her steps and went towards Shivaay's table.

T- What the Hell! This is so irresponsible, Shivaay baby. Iss cheap ladki ki himmat toh dekho. Ek toh inke paas stuffs nahi toh cafe kholte hi kyun hain. Aur issey dekho ye yahan pe samjhauta karna chahti hai. Main chahun toh ek hi din mein tumhara ye stupid sa cafe band karwa sakti hoon. Bl**dy B*tch.

Tia pushed her and Anika stumbled on her steps and was about to fall down when Shivaay held her by waist and made her stand. Tears started making their way through Anika's eyes.

A- Aap mere friend ban'na chahte hain?

S- Haan kyun nahi. Aap sundar hain, susheel hain, itne ache cafe ki malkin bhi hain. Aapke saath friendship karke shayad mera khana yahan pe free ho jaye.

A- Theek hai. Toh aapka khana free kar hi dete hain. Friends.

S- Friends.

They chatted for an hour or two like long lost friends. Finally Shivaay left bidding bye to Anika.

Anika was really happy today because it was the first time she has met someone who has not judged her on her blindness.

Shivaay was also very happy as he badly wanted to know Anika after looking at her for the first time and now he can freely spend his time with her.

Next Day, Anika went to her cafe and sat on the cash counter.

Shivaay entered the cafe and saw Anika sitting on her seat.

S- Can I have an Americano please?

A- Nahin, nahin. Aisi baat nahi hai. Mujhe bahut acha laga ki aap yahan aaye.

They again went into their silence zone. Their silence was broken by Shivaay.

S- Anika. I know ye bahut jaldi hai but if you don't mind toh kya main ye poocha sakta hoon ki tumhari yeh haalat kaise huyi?

Anika stiffened on his question. She didn't utter a word so Shivaay thought that maybe she isn't that comfortable with him to share her past.

S- I am sorry. Mujhe yeh nahi poochna chahiye tha. Umm.. I think.. Ab mujhe chalna chahiye.

Shivaay was about to get up from the swing when he heard Anika's voice.

A- Main 10 saal ki thi jab mujhse meri aankho ki roshni door chali gayi. Meri family mein sirf main aur mumma hi the. Mere dad ko meri mom se ameer ladki mil gayi toh woh meri mumma aur mujhe chhod ke chale gaye. Mumma ke liye main unki duniya thi aur mere liye wo. Hum bahut khush they apni choti si duniya mein. Ye cafe meri mumma ka sapna tha. Jab main 9 saal ki thi tab mumma ne iss cafe ka construction shuru karaaya tha. Mere 10th birthday par hum yahin celebrate karne aa rahe the ki ek truck se humari car ka accident ho gaya. Uss accident ne mujhse meri aankho ki roshni aur meri mumma dono cheen li.

Anika was crying very badly. Shivaay also had tears in his eyes after hearing her pain. He sidehugged her to console her.

A- Par maine haar nahi maani. Maine mumma ke sapne ko tootne nahi diya. Din raat mehnat kar ke maine iss cafe ko iss mukaam pe pahuchaya hai. Aur uss din jab Tia ne kaha ki main iss cafe ko sambhalne ke capable nahi hoon toh mujhe laga jaise ki main apni mumma ko disappoint kar rahi hoon. Main apni mumma ko disappoint nahi karna chahti Shivaay. Nahi karna chahti.

She started crying hysterically. Shivaay hugged her tightly and started caressing her hair to console her.

S- Shh.. Anika. Tum kabhi bhi apni mumma ko disappoint nahi kar sakti. I'm sure, woh tumpe bahut proud hongi. Aur tum Tia jaise logon kisi baaton mein mat aao. Aise log khud toh kuch kar nahi pate hain aur agar koi doosra kare toh unse bardaasht nahi hota.

Finally Anika stopped crying. She immediately broke the hug as she started feeling awkward.

A- I'm sorry. Mujhe aise...

S- It's ok. Kabhi kabhi dil ka dard bahar nikalna zaroori ho jaata hai warna woh har wakt chubhta hai.

Anika nods her head.

A- Thank you. Ye sab baatein aapse share karke mujhe acha feel ho raha hai.

They were again occupied by silence. Shivaay broke the silence.

S- Anika.

A- Hmm.

S- Tumhe kabhi aisa nahi lagta ki kaash tum dekh paati?

A- Lagta hai. Kabhi kabhi mujhe itna frustation hota hai ki agar main dekh paati toh yeh nahi hota ya woh nahi hota. Par jab ye ho hi nahi sakta toh soch ke kya fayda.

S- Hmm. Ok. I've to leave now. Mujhe kuch important kaam yaad aa gaya.

ONE MONTH LATER.

Shivaay and Anika were sitting on the swing.

Anika was enjoying the cold breeze with her closed eyes.

Anika started crying. She hugged him tightly.

A- I am so sorry, Shivaay. Maine tumhe galat samajha.

S- Ab mere proposal ka answer toh do.

Anika chuckled at him.

Anika was about to be taken to the operation theatre and Shivaay was standing in front of the OT.

Before surgery, Shivaay stopped Anika. He held her hands in his.

The red bulb glowed and the surgery started. After few hours, the bulb was turned off.

Shivaay was really tensed. He was just walking to and fro. A doctor came out of the OT and Shivaay ran towards him.

D- Don't worry Mr. Oberoi. Operation is successful.

S- Thank you doctor.

D- We will keep her in observation for 3 days. After 3 days, we'll remove her bandage from her eyes.

Shivaay nods his head and doctor left.

In the morning, Shivaay was feeding soup to Anika.

A- Shivaay, when they will remove this bandage? This is so irritating.

S- Just two more days baby.

A- Ok.

One day later, Shivaay was trying to make Anika sleep.

S- Sleep Anika. You must be tired.

Doctor cut Anika's bandage and was removing it slowly and slowly. Finally the bandage was removed. Shivaay sat in front of Anika holding her hands.
