The problem with Susan Pevensie was not that she was no longer a friend of narnia because she did not believe.
O she had believed everything she had seen and been through. She went through the wardrobe and entered a magical kingdom, where she became the queen. She ruled with a gentleness they had not seen before. Then she came back to the world she was born in and to being a teenager again.
The second time they went back, she developed a crush on a certain Telmarine Prince, who had in turn a crush on her.
But her faith was already fading and she could not hope that she and the prince had a future together.
And when the Mighty Lion sent her back to the world she was born in and she could not stay in the world she so dearly loved, she did not try to believe again.
Her whole world was turned around again and again. And she did not dare to hope that we would enter the magical kingdom a third time because the Lion had said that she was too old to learn again.
So slowly she lost her faith, until it was gone and she was lost in parties and in nylons and lipsticks.
Forgetting the time with her brothers and sister. They tried to keep her from forgetting but the Lion was far from her mind.
Until the train crash happened and she was all alone in this world.
She sought contact with the professor, learning he had passed and only his housemaid lived in the big house she had stayed in.
The wardrobe was still there and she was permitted to stay, to grief, so the housemaid thought.
But Susan Pevensie had renewed hope, hope she would find her family again, the prince she dreamed of and the Mighty Lion who spoke from time to time in her mind.
Her faith was growing once more.
Everyday she was checking that same wardrobe for an entrance.
But then she remembered that the Lion once had said that nothing happens the same way twice.
So that little faith she had grown was disappearing again because how would she now find an entrance.
But one night, the prince she dreamed of appeared in her dreams, together with the Mighty Lion.
And the Lion spoke, like a waterfall and lightning all in once.
And she was afraid but also in awe and she was crying and she felt loved.
All in once.
And Caspian, her prince, held out his hand and she took it. He pulled her towards him.
And the Lion spoke again.
"Welcome queen Susan the Gentle, once a king or queen of Narnia, always a king or queen of Narnia. Welcome Home, dear Child"
