Burr:

There's nothing the Schuyler Sisters love more

Than going down town and lookin' for minds at work

But take the youngest sister, she's not for it

Little do her sisters Angelica and Eliza

Know that she just can't get a feel for the trouble.

Company:

Mind at Work, Mind at Work!

Peggy:

Angelica! (she's looking for a mind at work)

Eliza! (She's following Angelica's footsteps)

Company:

And Peggy!

Peggy:

And? Again? [groans]

Company:

The Schuyler Sisters!

Angelica:

Angelica!

Peggy:

Peggy! (ha no and this time!)

Eliza:

Eliza!

Company:

Minds at work!

Peggy:

[Clears throat]

Daddy said to be home by sundown...

Angelica:

Daddy doesn't need to know.

Peggy:

...Daddy said not to go downtown...

Eliza:

Like I said, you're free to go!

Peggy:

But--look around, look around, none of this is good

Doors are locked up tight, fearing Red Coats coming at night.

In New York (New York)

Company:

Peggy, just go with it.

Peggy:

No!

It's bad enough Daddy wants to go to war.

People rioting in the streets.

It's bad enough we have violence on our shores.

New violence floats in the air.

Don't get me wrong, don't get me wrong

It's not that I don't support our independence, I'm very much for it.

But, Angelica just look at all the people

They're scared, why are you cheering of this in front of them?

Eliza, please have common sense with me

Eliza, please have common sense with me

Eliza-

Burr:

Wooh! There's nothing like summer in the city,

Someone in though next to someone looking iffy

Excuse me Miss, I know its not funny-

Peggy:

Yes, please talk sense into her, please

She's incredibly smart but lacks common sense

Which she's been reading, by Thomas Paine.

She's really tense and insane.

She claims she's for a revelation, not revolution

But truth is, she's praying for both.

Look around, look around, Angelica, Eliza

Isn't this enough? ((I'm using the isn't this enough melody to show just how desperate she is whoops--))

What's the point in praying for more violence, can't this be enough.

We're all ready neck deep in a war we can't handle, why pray for more?

Isn't this enough?

History is happening and I fear that the future will end too

The future will end too

Please have common sense here, Angelica you've been reading that

For crying out loud listen to your book.

You're both intense and insane

Please don't let it go further

Lets please just end this quick

We're already neck deep

Look around, look around

We've got more then we can handle...

END
