Maria Lewis for sure didn't want to spend her day in the hospital, yet when your "best friend" decides to beat you up because you didn't bring him a juice box, you didn't have much of a choice. Her lip was busted, nose broken, eye swollen, and leg broken. The worst part? No one believed her when she said she fell, especially not her care taker. But what else was she supposed to say? James R. said that if she told anyone, he'd do it again!

"Maria, please," George begged. "We need to know who did this..." He spoke softly, lightly rubbing the little girls head.

Her brothers, as she called them, Adams and Samuel sat on either side of her, gently snuggling their sister as not to hurt her more.

"N-No..." Maria stubbornly shook her head. "I-I can't... he'll do it again... Dad... I can't..."

George's heart broke when Maria called him her father, normally she'd only do that when she was really scared. He carefully took the girl's hand in his, rubbing her tiny shaking hand with his thumb.

"He's just going to do it over and over if no one stops him..." Adams whined, he hated seeing his sister upset.

"Is it someone we know?" Samuel asks. "You don't have to tell us, but, if we guess it right, can you nod for us?"

"O-Okay Sammy..." Maria mumbled.

"Alexander?" George guessed, he knew it was unlikely, but it was always a possibility in the back of his mind, being the worried parent he was.

"N-No..."

"Charles?" Adams tried.

"N-no..."

"James?" Samuel asked, and Maria nodded.

"Not Madison, Reynolds..." She mumbled.

The other three let that sink in for a bit before resuming cuddling her.

"Want me to see if the Washingtons kids want to come over?" George whispered to her. "I bet their worried and would love to visit."

"Y-Yeah.. this hospital is weird... they'll make me feel okay..."

George nodded and resumed rubbing her head.
