"What are you doing here?" Gidget growled, stepping in between Max and the female dog. Despite baring his teeth, Max was still afraid as he tucked his tail in between his legs. Her green eyes flashing in the sunlight, the other terrier spoke sweetly, "I should be asking you the same thing Princess." Giving Gidget a shove as she walked past her towards Max, she added on, "I'm Dolly by the way."

"First off, don't call me Princess. Only Max has that right. Secondly, you didn't answer my question," Gidget snarled, her white fur bristling in agitation. Max looked uncomfortable as Dolly brushed up against him. Turning to look at Gidget, Dolly appeared shocked as she exclaimed quietly, "Oh darling, I'm surprised that your boyfriend here hasn't told you the news."

"What news?" Max demanded, pushing Dolly away from him. Blinking her green eyes cutely at him, the female terrier responded, "Don't act like you don't know silly. You and I are going to be parents. I'm pregnant."

"Max!" Gidget barked, sounding devastated. She couldn't believe what she was hearing as she stared at her boyfriend in horror. Max seemed just as horrified as he desperately tried to explain, "Gidget, I only met her yesterday! I swear I never did what she claims!"

"You're funny baby. Listen Princess, he loves me over you. We've been secretly dating for the past six weeks. And two weeks ago... well, one thing led to another and now we're going to be the proud parents of a purebred litter," Dolly talked with venom in her voice. But only Gidget could hear it while Max pleaded, "Gidget, please... you have to believe me!"

Her eyes beginning to water, Gidget refused to listen to another word either of them had to say as she turned and ran.
