"Hey Gidget, how's- Gidget, where are you going?" Chloe asked as she peered out from Buddy's window, Buddy and Mel right behind her. Gidget ignored them as she continued running, almost colliding into Pops as she reached the street. She didn't say a word as she raced away.

Paws burning as they struck the pavement, Gidget swerved around people walking or riding bikes. Her thoughts were cluttered up with all the lies that Max had told her. He had always told her that he wanted to have a family but she didn't feel ready yet. Now he was going to have a family of his own that he would love everyday and it had nothing to do with her. Thinking about it made Gidget cry.

Her vision obscured by her tears, Gidget decided to turn into an alleyway before she got herself killed by a car. Finding a really dark one, she entered just as the sky opened up. The Pomeranian hadn't even noticed that rain clouds had been forming above the city. Climbing into a cardboard box, she curled into a tight ball and cried. Her face soaked in her own tears, Gidget was sobbing by the time she heard footsteps entering the alley.

The next thing Gidget knew, she was harshly yanked out of the box.
