"HELP!" Chloe yowled, her striped tail puffed up. The gray tabby cat had just been cornered into a pile of wood with no way to escape. A giant Rottweiler looked down upon her. Saliva dripped down from his large mouth as he towered over the terrified feline. Looking around, Chloe realized with horror that everyone was preoccupied at the moment. She was left to fend for herself. At least, that's what she had thought until Max came out of nowhere.

Bowling into the larger canine, Max almost didn't stop himself in time from falling down a dark hole. He stood at the edge, peering down and watching the Rottweiler descend into the abyss. Shaking as he realized what he had just done, the terrier didn't take notice that Chloe had padded over until he felt her tail drape across his shoulders.

"Thank you," Chloe whispered, purring softly as she nuzzled Max. When she felt him nuzzle her in return, she could feel her heart beating a little faster...
