"Max!" Chloe cried, finally finding her husband on the first floor. After she had thrown the flower pot at the two men Michael and Ulrich, the gray tabby cat had immediately raced down from the second floor to the first to find Max. The Jack Russell terrier, joined by Duke and Snowball, had hidden inside a boiler room to avoid being captured by Michael, who had chosen to chase them while Ulrich probably went after Gidget or ran for his life.

Hearing his name being called, Max checked to make sure that the coast was clear before rushing out to his wife. "You okay Chloe?" he asked, embracing her. Hugging the terrier back, Chloe purred, "Now that I'm with you."

"Aww..." Duke and Snowball said at the same time.

All of the sudden, the four animals heard a low growl behind them. "Fat Dog, please tell me that was your stomach," Snowball pleaded. Duke shook his head. Gulping, the small group slowly turned around to come face to face with Tiberius. Talons scraping against the floor and a growl rumbling in his throat, the old hawk's blood red eyes narrowed to slits.

"Run..." Max mumbled.

None of them needed an engraved invitation as they swiftly turned tail and ran. Screeching, Tiberius flew after them. "Why am I in the back of the pack?!" Duke cried, luckily avoiding a swipe from the hawk. "Cuz you're the slowest out of the four of us!" Snowball shouted from his position in the lead. Looking around, Max quickly grabbed the edge of a curtain. Tearing it down from the wall, he threw it behind them. Shrieking, Tiberius got trapped underneath it. While the hawk struggled to get free, the group made it to the basement.

"Quick, shut the doors!" Snowball ordered. Duke swiftly did just that. Meanwhile, Mel and Buddy came racing over. "You guys aren't gonna like this..." Buddy mumbled, lowering his head in shame. Not even needing any further explanation, Max and Chloe shouted, "YOU LOST THE KIDS AGAIN?!"

"Wow, first try," Mel remarked, That earned him a whack on the head from Chloe.
