Jumping out of her skin as a speeding bullet struck the wall to her left while another struck a painting, Gidget spun around to find Michael coming up behind them. His gun trained on them, the man fired again. This time he managed to hit the floorboards in the center of the group. Shielding her eyes as pieces of wood rained down on her, Gidget howled, "RUN!" Sparky and Cupcake didn't need further instruction as they ran away screaming. The others followed their example.

Her paws burning as they struck the ground in a steady beat, Gidget just barely managed to dodge a bullet aimed for her. She watched as another came awfully close to hitting Esmeralda, fortunately missing her. One almost got Sparky but Andromeda pushed him out of the way. Thankfully, neither got hurt but that caused Sparky and Cupcake to run faster than the others, soon disappearing. Turning to look over at Tiberius, the fluffy white Pomeranian cried, "We have to split up. We're pretty much a moving target if we continue traveling together like this!" A bullet flew over her head as she was saying that.

"I think Max and Chloe's kids already had that idea in mind! I don't see them!" Tiberius replied. His eyes were wide with fear and he was shaking. Running beside him, Gidget declared, "I'll take the pups, you take Andromeda! We'll lose this guy and meet up afterwards!" Plan in mind, the pair quickly grabbed their assigned kids and split up. Gidget and the puppies raced down the staircase while Tiberius and Andromeda took a right turn down another hall. Peering around the corner and spying the two hawks as they went inside an air vent, Michael shot a couple rounds at them before going after the dogs.

By the time he reached the first floor though, Michael didn't see a sign that could point him in the direction of where the three dogs went. Frustrated, he threw his gun on the ground in a fit.
