           Marinette's POV:

Marinette paid no attention as her parents, sister, brother, and grandparents walked through the door.  She felt no need to acknowledge them.  It was not like she owed them anything.

She kept on task with the duty given her.

       Kenny's  POV:

Kenny walked past the blonde-haired boy and over to the counter.  He waited impatiently for someone to come wait on him and his relatives.

      Adrien's POV:

Adrien noticed the girl who took his order earlier did not seem to notice the newcomers.  He wondered if she was avoiding them since she was not that far from the entrance.

          Sabine's POV:

Sabine saw her older daughter and laughed. She thought it ironic the child she disliked above all else in life should work here.  Well, she might as well make the most of it.

"Marinette, we need some menus," The lady snarled.

         Adrien's  POV:

Adrien wondered what Marinette had done to get on the woman's bad side. He can tell by her tone that she was displeased with the waitress. He hoped he was wrong and perhaps the lady was just having a bad day.

         Marinette's POV:

Marinette looked up at the sound of her name on the strangers lips. It was then it dawned on her that it was her mother who had spoken to her. She felt her heartache again at the presence of her family.  It was clear in her mind that they did not want anything to do with her.

She marched over to the table and put on the best smile ever.

"Hi, here are the menus you requested," Marinette remarked as she handed them out.

She waited to see what the others would say.

             Kenny's POV:

"Wow, sis this is a new low even for you.  I mean the place is a dump," Kenny snickered.

Kenny saw Marinette's face turn red with anger.  He knew it was a bit extreme for him to insult her while she was on the job, but he did not care.

"I beg your pardon, Kenny.  It is the best it town," Marinette yelled.

Kenny shrugged his shoulders as he glanced at the menu.

      Tom's POV:

"I see the restaurant has you in a tight dress, a ridiculous aporn, and an equally absurd hair bonnet," Tom scoffed.

The others nodded their heads in agreement.  None cared about how much the words stung at her very soul.

"What might I get for you all this nice afternoon?" Marinette inquired. She did not dare mention how much the insults troubled her.

"Oh, I will have the pot pie, and  a glass of milk," He told her.

Marinette's POV:

Marinette jotted down the order then listened closely to the rest of the groups choices. She never said a word as she scribbled on the pad in her hand. It was always easier this way not to address them. She learned this years ago.

She entered the kitchen with confidence she did not know she had and handed over the paper with the food items on it that her family if she dared to even call them that ordered.

She grinned  as she took the orders for a table of six.  She was grateful they had not seen the way the last  round of customers had anyway.

She nodded her head once more as she finished it.

"So, that is one pizza with cheese, and one cheese with pepperoni, bacon, and mushrooms?" She repeated.

"Yes, Miss, and we all would love to have some of the water to drink," The lady added.

"Ok, it will be twenty-minutes," Marinette told her.

She got the waters and handed them to the small group.  Then, she returned to the dreaded table and handed out the drinks.

No sooner did Marinette finish then she tripped.  To bad for she had fallen right over a misplaced piece of silverware. She stood up, and walked away.

     Adrien's  POV:

Adrien wished he could do something about the harsh way the girl was being treated. However, he knew he was just a customer so what could he possibly do?  It was not like she was willingly to press charges.

He walked to his car in a bad mood. He never did like to see anyone bullied.  Least of all a person who was kind to others and willing to serve them. He drove home in silence.

      Marinette's POV:

The food was ready sooner than she expected. She brought one order out, then another.  She went and retrieved the next meals for the last table. She served them with ease.

Now done for the day, she relaxed in the back room. She drank a small glass of water.  This was to calm her nerves. Somehow the day turned out more stressful than she thought it might.

"Well, what can I do?  I am just an outcast in my family as usual," She said to no one in particular.
