You wake up, with the knife stinging a bit, which isn't a nice feeling! You open the curtains, and look at the sun's position: you estimate it's around 8 AM, so you've still got a bit of time left to do your exercices! You learned in the past that you need to be ready for the worst each and every day. You wash the sweat off after that, put on your daily clothes, take your sword and walk over to Zelda's room. You go sitting on a chair next to her door and wait for her.

After one quarter, she comes out, but apparently forgot you were her appointed knight, because she scares up for a second, but then remembers and smiles at you:
"Goodmorning, Link! Slept well?"
"Goodmorning, Pr-... Zelda! I did, did you?"
She laughs because you nearly said Princess and then decided to say Zelda instead:
"I slept well too! Ready for today? I've decided to go to Rito Village, I'll go talk to Kaneli, the village elder, about the Divine beast!"
What the hell is that? It sounds dangerous...
"Divine beast? Never heard of that thing before."
She smiles:
"Those things! There are 4, and it is possible you've never heard about them, because they're brand new! They are awesome, you'll see! Do you like the Ancient Sheikah technology? Because I do!"
The Sheikah were an ancient race that helped Hyrule Castle, and were known for their technology. You aren't really interested about those things, you like real life and nature better. But it is fascinating, that's for sure. You decide to play it safe:
"I'm not really into it, but it is certainly interresting!"
"Perhaps I can share some of my knowledge about it! Starting today, with showing you the first Divine Beast!"
You had a silent breakfast and left for Rito Village quickly, it was a long journey after all. You made sure your sword was within reach the whole time, and you always rode close to Zelda.

*Timeskip*

It was noon already when the both of you arrived at Rito Village. Zelda sighed in relief:
"Ahhh, finally, Rito Village! Link, do you see that huge thing in the sky?"
You look to the sky and see a giant monstrous bird! I wouldn't like to fight that thing, that's for sure!
And that's exactly it's purpose.
I would begin to fear already, Ganon!
She sees your amazement and laughs:
"It IS amazing, isn't it? No knight can fight thát thing!"
I could perhaps...
She continues:
"Anyway, I'm going to Kaneli, you can do what you want in the meantime!"
You shake your head:
"Princess, I-"
"Princess, Princess, I must protect you everywhere! Link, I'm nearly 17! I can protect myself if I must, and I'm safe here in Rito Village! I'll be carefull, OK? And it's Zelda for you!" she says irritated but smiling at the last sentence.
You shrug:
"Alright, Zelda, I'll go to Revali then, he asked me to meet him when I would be here."
She smiles once again:
A girl full of smiles, but also full of sorrow...
"Really? Well, I'll meet up with you when I'm done! We'll go home then, because we need to be home at 7 PM: We have a feast tonight, and my father expects us."
"Understood! See you later!"
"Lots of fun, Link."
You went to a platform with a painting of an eagle on it, and watch the Divine Beast fly, or float.

Suddenly a strong wind comes out of nowhere, from beneath you almost:
And also from out of nowhere comes Revali, the Rito Champion, soaring on the strange wind:
"Impressive, I know. Very few can achieve a mastery of the sky. Yet I have made an art of creating an updraft that allows me to soar."
He looks at his own wings, almost in amazement. He goes on:
"It's considered to be quite the masterpiece of aerial techniques, even among the Rito. With proper utilisation of my superior skills, I see no reason why we couldn't easily dispense with Ganon."
That made you laugh inside. He comes to the point, although he still brags:
"Now then, my ability to explore the firmament is certainly of note... but let's not -pardon me for being so blunt- let's not forget the fact that I'm the most skilled archer of all the Rito.
Yet despite these truths, it seems that I have been tapped to merely assist you. All because you happen to have that little darkness-sealing sword on your back. I mean, it's just...asinine.
Unless...you think you can prove me wrong? Maybe we should just settle this one on one? But where...? Oh, I know! How about up there?!"
He points his wing to the Beast, and continues
"Oh, you must pardon me. I forgot you have no way of making it up to the Divine Beast on your own!"
He flies away:
"Good luck sealing the darkness!"
Your turn now:
"I bet you are just too afraid to solve this one on one!!!"
He turns his head and flies a bit back:
"What did you say?"
You laugh:
"I said that I bet that you're too afraid to battle me! Tell me, are you a Rito or a chicken?"
He lands in front of you:
"The Rito Champion is never afraid, Link. You'll see! Climb on my back. I'll bring you to the Beast."

*Timeskip*

He didn't lie before: he is damn strong, and probably one of the most powerful warriors you've ever fought with, this time friendly of course, with wooden weapons, to not hurt each other badly.
You were both hurt and tired of the battle:
He flies up and aims his wooden arrow at you. His aim is amazing, and because you only have a sword, it's very hard to block them, causing a lot to hit you, which will become a lot of bruises, you already know.
But this time, due to the exhaustion, he flows too low to the ground!
This is my chance, let's not waste it...
You begin to sprint at him, but in a slant way, to not scare him. He aims, full of calmness, and let his arrow fly.
Wait...wait...now!
You drop to the floor, immediately stand up and sprint as if your life was in danger. You reached Revali in time, and hit him with all your power.
He falls to the floor, and moans:
"Uuuucchh"
You give him your hand, and luckily he grabs it. You pull him on his feet.
"Hey, Revali, you didn't lie! You are really strong! I could not imagine using a bow so well!" and you really meant this.
He smiles:
"Well, Link, I could not imagine fighting with a sword as well as you do! Good fight... friend."
He even gives you a hug! (Also because giving a hand/wing isn't easy!)
He suddenly exclaims:
"AH, our beautiful Princess has arrived! Let's get to her! Hop on!"
And indeed, Zelda was watching you and waved. You waved back and Revali did too. You hopp on his back and fly back to the village.

She smiles:
"Well, it seems like you've had fun!"
You answer:
"We have!"
She short sees your bruises:
"But... Revali! You're hurt! And Link too! What happened?"
She grasps your arm to check the wounds, which somehow felt really good...
"Look how many bruises! Give me a second, I've got some bandage..."
"Yeah, Revali's arrows hit me like a battering ram! We trained together! And no bandages needed, it's just bruising, it'll go away soon!"
Or I hope so...
She looks cynical:
"Alright...Guys, I've got some good news! This Divine Beast is tested and officialy declared usable for battle, and especially for destroying Ganon!"
Revali is very excited by that:
"Amazing! I'm sure it will be useful!"
She laughs:
"I've another fun fact:
You are going to control it, Revali! We're going to give you some lessons for controlling it."
You are not too happy with that:
"Wouldn't it be better if Revali would fight on the battle-"
You were cut off:
"SERIOUSLY?! Waw, that's even more amazing! I mean, I expected that, of course! With my skills, it is only natural that I'd control it!"
She looks at her Sheikah Slate, a mysterious Sheikah-made object that can capture the environement on the screen. She can also see the time on it, and also the map. She sighs:
"Link, it's already 3 PM, we've got to go! Otherwise my father is going to be angry."
Revali laughs:
"And you'd better avoid that! See you next time, guys!"
You left immediately, galloping now.

*Timeskip*

You arrived in time, and you followed Zelda to the big dining room. King Rhoam and his knights were already sitting there. The ladies had yet to come. The King had no wife though, not anymore: Zelda's mother died when she was 6 years old. He stands up and embraces Zelda, and shakes your hand next. Finn walks over too, gets on his knee, says:"Princess, at your service" with a much more formal voice, gets up again and bro-hugs you. Zelda notices your friendship:
"So, Link, this guard is your friend? What's your name, sir?"
He bows his head:
"Finn, my lady."
"Alright, sir Finn, you can sit next to Link."
He does a gesture with his hand, a sign of appreciation:
"Thank you, my lady."
Zelda takes the seat next to her father, as it should, and you go sitting next to her, on her left. You like standing behind her, watching everything and everyone, but you had to participate at the feast now. You're not a party guy, nor a feast guy. Finn sits on your left side as well. Another officer sits next to Rhoam. He looks very strong. You ask Finn:
"Who's that guy next to the King?"
"That's Gregor. He's the strongest one of us. He and I are 2 of the 3 officers."

*Timeskip*

The feast has been going on for some time: most of the knights are drunk now, and the ladies too.
The King is tipsy as well...
You only drink water and coffee (to keep you as awake as possible).
Rhoam leans backwards and sighs: he obviously ate more than enough.
Zelda didn't eat much, nor did you. King Rhoam speaks to Zelda again:
"Zelda, what have Link and you been doing today? You weren't here?"
She is clearly afraid to tell it:
"We went to the Rito and inspected the Divine Beast, Vah Medoh. It is considered ready for the battle and-"
He sighs:
"Zelda, Zelda, Zelda...what you did today is the work of the Sheikah. Are you a Sheikah?"
She sighs too:
"No, father. I am the Princess of Hyrule."
"And you know what the heir of Hyrule's throne inherits?"
"The magic power to seal Ganon away, father..."
He nodds:
"Indeed, Zelda. Do you really think this Beast can stop Ganon? Do you? 'Cause I don't! It will stop him for a moment, but sooner or later it will be destroyed. The only thing that can stop Ganon for a long time... is your power! Have you found it already?"
"No father, I'm trying. I'm praying each and every day to Goddess Hylia. I just want to-"
She's interrupted again:
"I don't care what you want, Zelda. Stop playing games and find that power! Take a look at Link. He already fulfilled his destiny. He followed his father in becoming a knight, even the best knight in all of Hyrule! And he's your personal guard. Now you've got to show your worth too!"
She winks away her tears:
"But father, I-"
"Enough of this, Zelda!! Go to your room, and pray again."
Everyone was quiet now, even the drunk knights. Zelda let her tears flow, but tries to hide them. She shouts, frustrated:
"Fine!" and walks very fast to the door. You look at the King, he understands and nodds:
"You may go, Link."
"Thank you, my lord."
Finn gives you a pat on the back, and you leave the room.
You go to Zelda's room, and knock on the door:
"Zelda? It's me, Link! May I get in?"
She shouts, clearly in tears, hearing her voice:
"No! Leave me alone now!"
You don't know what to do: you've not got much experience with girls, you've never had a girlfriend. If Zelda were a guy, you would come in anyway, doesn't matter how. You remember Finn once told you:
"If a girl is angry, do what she says."
So you leave her alone, and say calmly:
"Goodnight, Zelda."
No answer, not that you expected it. You sit on the chair next to her door for a quarter of an hour: perhaps she would calm down a bit and come outside. But she didn't, and you go to your room as well. You hang your equipment on the wall as always, take off your clothes, put the knife under your pillow and try to sleep.
I hope Zelda is going to be happy again tomorrow.
I really do...
You fell asleep, a strange dream:
It was about her...

Chapter 2, finished! Did you like it? Hope you did! I quite enjoy the fact that Link doesn't talk much, he's just like me, or I'm just like him! Quiet, loyal, always by your side,  modest XD.
Anyway, see you guys soon. I'm already down to write Chapter 3, but I'm gonna write more of My Shining Sun as well! #BusyLife XD
