A/N Hey everyone! Happy Day After Valentine's Day! I hope you all had a great day yesterday! Now, for the chapter (which I actually got in on time now!). Hope you all enjoy!

-------------------

Simone’s POV

“Can we go do something today?” I whined to my roommate, Courtney, as I spun around in the hotel room’s desk chair. “I’m bored and I want to do something.”

“Well, what do you want to do?” Courtney responded, pulling her ear buds out of her ears. “We could go to Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, Fifth Avenue, the Empire State Building…” she was listing off some ideas for places to go.

“How about we go to Fifth Avenue? I want to go shopping!” I exclaimed, pumping my fist in the air. “I’ve always wanted to go to Tiffany’s,” I mused, starting to daydream. Suddenly I imagined myself as Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Thankfully, Courtney snapped me out of that before it could have gotten weirder than it had been already getting. “You want to go to Tiffany’s? You wouldn’t be able to afford a single thing there!” She burst out laughing, leaning against the headboard of her bed. “Everything is way too expensive there.”

I sighed, thinking about that. “Okay, fine. How about we go to the Statue of Liberty?”

“That sounds good to me. I’ll talk to the rest of the group and see if they’d like to join us,” she said, winding up her ear buds around her iPod. She looked at me, and asked, “Hey, by the way, what would you do if you ex-boyfriend texts you and asks if you want to get back together?”

My eyes widened just a bit. “No way, you can’t be talking about Braeden, can you?” I asked.

“What other desperate jerk of an ex could I be talking about?” Courtney forced a laugh.

“Um, some guy you never told any of us about?” I shrugged. “I don’t know. But why would you ask? What’s going on, Courtney?”

“Never mind,” Courtney said with a sigh. “It wasn’t important anyway.”

“Okay…but remember; if something is bothering you, just tell me, okay? I may be younger than you, but I’m really good with these kinds of things,” I told her.

“Yeah, okay. Wait a minute, why are you so good with these kinds of things anyway?” Courtney asked.

“Don’t ask me that. I don’t actually have an answer to that, to be perfectly honest,” I giggled, and so did she. “But, if you’re really feeling down, you know what I’ve noticed that cheers you up, Miss Dance Camp?” I laughed a bit more as I said that.

Courtney rolled her eyes. “That’s very funny, Simone,” she said sarcastically. “But, Miss Dance Camp would like to know what you’ve discovered.”

I laughed. “You shouldn’t talk about yourself in third person, Courtney. It’s weird.”

“Says the girl who was daydreaming about being Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” Courtney laughed. When I stared at her with a confused expression, she added, “You mumble when you daydream.”

I rolled my eyes. “Whatever. Do you want to know what I think cheers you up or not?”

“Yeah, sure, but it’s probably something I already knew,” Courtney mumbled.

“You love to dance!” I exclaimed, smiling at her.

Courtney’s eyes seemed to light up when I said dance. I don’t understand how she didn’t get that when I said Miss Dance Camp, but oh well. But I knew the look she was giving me. That’s right; Courtney Azelynn Anderson had an idea.

Oh joy. Now I’m responsible for whatever she does now. Someone save me!

---------------------

“Times Square,” Ana mused as we walked through the city. We had decided to take a walk in the city before we met the boys at the Statue of Liberty. They had a few things to do before they could meet up with us.

“It’s amazing,” Lucy added as we passed under the signs and lights. “I am so thankful to the boys for bringing us along. This is an incredible experience.”

“Agreed,” Kelly and Lizzie chorused. We all laughed as we neared the middle of Times Square.

“Look! That’s where the New Year’s Eve ball comes down!” I pointed out the spot nearby. The rest of the girls nodded as they noticed it as well. “I wish it was New Year’s right now. I want to see the ball drop,” I mused.

“Yeah, I understand that, but what about the guys? Then we wouldn’t have this time, because they’d be gone,” Courtney reminded us, biting her lip. I saw Lucy have a similar response, looking at the ground.

“Anyway…” Kelly said, making us change the subject. We now were in the middle of Times Square, looking around in awe.

Courtney turned to us. “Watch this,” she said with a grin, pulling out her iPod from her purse. She flipped through her song choices and then pressed play.

Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars blared through the speakers, on full blast. Courtney pressed the iPod into Ana’s hands and then began to dance in the middle of Times Square! Now it’s time to take responsibility for this. Why did I even suggest dancing for her? That was kind of stupid for me to do.

Everyone stopped and stared at her and us since we were there with her. Oh gosh…this was exactly like the mall all over again.

I looked over at the other girls and mouthed, “I’m sorry,” to all of them. While I did this, Courtney danced crazily, having fun while embarrassing us. She probably didn’t even know what she was doing to embarrass us right now.

Finally, she finished dancing and smiled at all of us. “Thanks for the suggestion to dance, Simone!” She exclaimed, grinning now directly at me. “I feel so much better now!”

I slapped my forehead and then ran a hand through my hair in exhaustion. “I didn’t mean to dance in the middle of Times Square…”

“Well, it’s too late now!” Courtney grinned at me before shutting her iPod off and pulling her phone out. It was on vibrate, but she was getting a call from someone. “Give me just a minute,” she said, walking away.

When she was gone, Lizzie turned to me. “You suggested it to her?” she asked with her mouth wide open in shock. When I nodded, she asked, “Why the heck would you do that?”

“Because she seemed down, and dancing cheers her up. Sorry for wanting to be a good friend,” I shrugged.

“Hey, don’t sweat it. It’s not that bad anymore. Let’s just wait for Courtney and then go to the Statue of Liberty to meet the guys,” Lucy said rationally.

“Alright,” I said with a sigh as Courtney came back over. “Who was that?”

“Kyle. He wants to know where we went, since we kind of disappeared on him…” she laughed.

“No, we didn’t disappear, we specifically ditched him,” Kelly laughed, and so did the rest of us.

“Point taken,” Courtney laughed. “Anyway, he said that we need to make sure to meet up with him after the Statue of Liberty thing. Another reason he came on this trip was to make sure we didn’t do anything stupid or reckless.”

“But I’m fifteen. I would never do anything like that,” I pointed out.

“That’s his point. You’re the one who would most likely do these kinds of things!” Courtney giggled, and so did the rest of the group.

“I’m hurt,” I fake pouted. “Let’s just head to the Statue of Liberty.” I took the lead and continued walking towards a nearby taxi, the girls following me soon after.

--------------------

“We’re here,” Ana said as the boat pulled up at the dock of the Statue of Liberty. We all were able to file off the boat and walk towards the statue together. In our shorts and t-shirts, the girls and I looked just like normal tourists. The guys, on the other hand, kind of looked ominous with Paul walking behind us.

“Well, isn’t this nice. The first time we get to go to the Statue of Liberty, we get to do it with One Direction,” I mumbled so nobody could hear, not even the girls.

We all took a few pictures together in front of the statue, smiling. For just a little bit, it was almost like we were all normal people, not celebrities and their companions for the summer.

We were able to take a lot of pictures for that short time. We walked towards the small wall that kept people from walking off the island (although that would be incredibly hilarious) when we were done and looked out towards the city again.

“How would you girls like to go to a party?” Zayn asked all of us quietly so nobody would overhear.

“Are you serious?” Lucy’s eyes widened as she heard that. “You want us to come to a party with you guys?”

“Of course we do. It’s tonight,” Louis informed us.

“Thanks for telling us so late,” Lizzie muttered, but she had a smile on her face so it was obvious she was joking.

Kelly elbowed Lizzie as if to tell her to quit it, but she smiled at them. “Thanks. We’d love to go to a party with you guys,” she said happily.

“Perfect,” Niall said with a grin. “How about we pick you girls up tonight, around seven?”

“Sounds good to me,” Ana said with a sweet smile. “Thanks so much.”

“No problem,” Harry said with a smile in response.

As Harry finished speaking, Paul walked up to us. “Lads, you have an album signing to get to now,” he told them.

The boys sighed. “Okay, Paul,” Liam said, ever the responsible one. He looked at us. “I’m guessing you probably wouldn’t want to come with for that. If you want, you can have a bit of time out in the city,” he offered.

“That sounds fine. We’ll see you at seven, then,” I said with a smile.

“Bye, girls,” the five of them said goodbye before heading off to the dock and the boat there waiting.

When they were out of earshot, I grinned. “Now, can we go to Fifth Avenue? We need to go shopping for dresses!”

“Do I need to say this again? You can’t afford a single thing there!” Courtney sighed, running a hand through her hair in exhaustion.

“There’s Build-A-Bear,” I pointed out with a giggle. “I can afford a teddy bear, unless the price has drastically increased.”

“Whatever. Let’s just go find a dress shop. Plus, Kyle needs to know where we’re going. Why must he be so responsible?” Courtney mumbled.

“Because he’s your brother and he loves you,” Ana said sweetly.

“How would you know? You’re an only child.”

“Does that really matter right now?” Ana sighed as she looked at Courtney, and said, “Whatever. Let’s just go shopping before it ends up being seven!”

We all chuckled as we walked to the docks and waited for the boats.

-------------------

“What do you girls think about this one?” Lucy asked, slipping out of the changing room of the boutique and spinning around. She was in a pretty midnight blue dress that looked amazing on her. It had straps that were two fingers wide and it went down to about her knees. She looked great.

“Lucy, you look amazing,” a voice said from behind the five of us who were sitting on the couches. It was a guy. As I turned around, I saw it was Kyle. He must have just arrived.

His hair was messy, just like it normally was. He had on a blue shirt with the logo for the Minnesota Twins on it, and a pair of blue jeans with tennis shoes. He had a smile on his face, which gave me the thought that he was sincere.

“Do you really think so? Thanks, Kyle,” Lucy said sweetly with a smile.

Kyle nodded. “So, are you girls buying dresses for that party the boys are throwing tonight?” He asked. I guess I was staring, because he looked down at me and winked. I smiled up at him sweetly.

Ana nodded, and said, “Yeah. We’re planning on using this style of dress for all of us, if it looks good on us at least.”

“Well, I think it’ll look great on all of you,” Kyle said. “I hope you girls have fun tonight. I have to go and check out a college nearby, but I’m going to wait and make sure you girls are good to go first.”

“You’re way too responsible sometimes,” Courtney laughed a bit, smiling at him. “We’ll be fine.”

“But I have to. I need to make sure you girls don’t do anything reckless,” he said with a chuckle, looking straight at me as he spoke. I blushed slightly from embarrassment.

“I’m probably the most responsible of us, just saying,” I said with a smile.

“Now don’t lie to me, Simone,” Kyle chastised me jokingly.

“I’m not, and it’s possible! Liam is supposed to be the most responsible of the boys, and he’s one of the younger ones,” I added.

“Well, you’re not them…” Kyle laughed a bit more, and we all joined in. “Well, it’s not like it’s not true. Each of you is your own person.”

“Explain?” Lizzie ordered, looking up at him curiously.

“Well, you’re the one who likes to take charge, although you add in a lot of jokes on the way. You’re also pretty athletic, so you’ve got that sporty way,” Kyle explained. It was true, though. Lizzie had been on plenty of sports teams in the past. She had been on a soccer team for a couple years, played basketball, and had taken a few skating lessons, although Ana was the one who had stayed in the whole time.

Kyle turned to Lucy. “You’re the one in the group that is quieter a bit more often than the other girls. You’re also a fantastic musician and a lovely singer,” he explained. This also was a true statement. Lucy had her moments of shyness, and she also loved to play the piano and sing. She has written a lot of song lyrics and music too, so Kyle definitely had a point.

Then he began talking to Kelly. “You’re an incredible artist, although you have your moments of shyness too. You’re kind to everyone you meet.” Kyle was three for three. She was an incredible artist, she had her shy moments, and she was kind to practically everyone. Trust me on this; she was the first one to really accept me into the group when I first showed up.

Now talking to Ana, he said, “You’re the person who gets embarrassed about everything, Miss Hey Ya!” he chuckled a bit, and we did too. “Anyway, you’re a great author. I’ve read some of your books and they’re great. Also, you’re quite serious at times, although you love to joke around too.” Again, he was right, especially about how she got embarrassed about everything.

He turned to his sister now. “You’re a fabulous dancer, sis. You know you are. Before you met Braeden, you were bright and happy all the time. I mean, you still are, but you get my point.” So he had figured it out. Courtney was having a bit of trouble, wasn’t she? But she was a great dancer, and she still is very bright and happy. Kyle gave his sister a reassuring smile to make sure she understood he meant well.

Then he turned to me. I bit my lip. What was he going to say about me? “You’re a leader with great advice, Simone. You’re slightly overprotective at times for your sister, I’ve noticed, but you always mean well. You’re also a very sweet girl too.” Oh gosh. He just said that about me? What am I supposed to say about that now?

Thankfully, Lucy saved the day. Thank goodness. “Thanks, Kyle. That’s really nice of you,” she said.

“At least you girls see that you’re different,” he said with a grin.

--------------------

By the time it hit five PM, we had decided on our dresses. We were all sticking with that same style that Lucy had gotten, since we all wanted to look alike, yet different. Sometimes we just like to be twins.

Anyway, I was wearing a deep red version of the dress, kind of the shade of blood. Now, before you say, “That’s disgusting!” I’m just going to say it looks good on me, so I’m sticking with it.

Lucy was going to wear that midnight blue one she had tried on while Kyle was there, and Kelly had found a very pretty lavender one that looked great on her. Lizzie was going to be wearing a nice looking sunshine yellow one with matching high heels (I know, right?), and Courtney had found a pretty hot pink one with an origami owl necklace with it as an accessory. Ana chose a pretty white one to finish off the set.

As I laid out my outfit, the dress and a pair of black Mary Jane’s, I couldn’t help thinking about what Kyle had said. He had been so sweet at the boutique…

No. I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t do that to myself, to Kyle, or to Courtney. I couldn’t be falling for him.

But what if I was? He really had been sweet there…maybe I was crushing on him!

I knew I couldn’t let it get any farther than a crush, though. Not just for my sake, but for Kyle’s and Courtney’s.

Hopefully I could manage doing that.

A/N I hope you all enjoyed that. I really enjoyed writing the part with Courtney's dancing in Times Square, and Simone's reference to Breakfast at Tiffany's. I hope you all enjoyed reading that!

One last note: Next chapter will be the party, and it's going to be a special chapter. It will be written in Harry's point of view. I really hope you all like the next chapter, especially since I've been wanting to post that one more than you could ever figure out.
