Officer John Hart of the Los Angeles Police Department flipped the brief closed. Damn new parents, not knowing how to take care of their kids. He had two at home, and had never managed to kill them with a baby blanket.

Hart sighed, and turned back to the devastated couple.

"Clearly, your daughter's death was not premeditated, so at worst you'll be charged with manslaughter," he glanced around the nursery in the Fisher's cute two story townhouse, which was currently being swarmed by forensic photographers. "Most likely you'll be charged with negligence."

"Thank you, Officer Hart," Mrs. Fisher said. Mr. Fisher then led her out of the nursery.

Hart sighed again. Read a damn baby book, he thought. Those New Age ones probably think that baby blankets cause premature baldness anyways.
