Hart turned to the crime scene investigator at his right. The middle-aged woman piped up promptly.

"No forced entry to the room, and no fingerprints on the knife handle," she said, glancing around furtively. "No sign of a struggle either. Looks like it was an inside job."

"What about blood analysis?"

"No spatter was found on anything-- he was stabbed through the sheets. Clean cut too."

"Interesting. Maybe we ought to get the ballistics and blood spatter team down here for a closer look."
