The group went out to the rink. When nobody was looking, Jade sprinkled Crazy Crystals on Hugo's enchanted skates.

When Hugo put his skates on, Jade asked, "Prince Hugo, can you show us your triple fireball flip?"

"No problem," Hugo grinned.

Hugo glided onto the ice, but when he jumped, the Crazy Crystals' effect kicked in. Hugo started skating uncontrollably, and he saw that his skates were glowing green. Sofia and Axel were shocked. Sofia turned to Ruby and Jade, and she saw evil smirks on their faces. This made Sofia realize that Ruby and Jade were responsible for this. Seeing Hugo skate like that reminded Sofia of a certain prank Amber played on her before.

Hugo flew over to the group and crashed in the snow. Axel went to help his little brother. Ruby and Jade were laughing at Hugo, but then they stopped when they saw Sofia glaring at them. They hoped Sofia wouldn't know they broke their promise to control their jealousy.

Axel took the skates off Hugo's feet. "What happened?" he asked. "Why are your skates glowing green? They usually glow blue."

Sofia angrily turned to Ruby and Jade and growled, "Do you have anything to do with this?"

Ruby and Jade were horrified that Sofia was yelling at them because she knew that they were responsible for this. They had to think quick to get out of trouble.

"No, we have absolutely nothing to do with this," Jade lied.

"Yes, nothing," Ruby agreed.

But Sofia snatched the Crazy Crystals from Jade and snarled, "Then who put these Crazy Crystals on Hugo's skates?"

"Crazy Crystals? What are those?" Hugo frowned.

"They can damage any magical object they touch," Axel told his little brother.

Suddenly, Cedric showed up. "So that's where my Crazy Crystals went," he frowned. "What were you doing with them?"

"Ruby and Jade must've stolen them from you, so they could put them on Hugo's enchanted skates," Sofia replied.

"Oh, I should've known better than to leave my carpet bag unattended," Cedric groaned.

"I don't think it's your fault, Mr. Cedric," Sofia declared. "Ruby and Jade promised me that they would control their jealousy of Prince Hugo, but they couldn't resist making him look bad in front of me."

"Why are they so jealous of him?" Cedric asked.

"Because Sofia is really close to him," Jade protested.

"Yeah, she used to be silly and playful with us, and now she's doing it with Prince Hugo," Ruby added. "We're just mad at him for taking Sofia away from us."

"We don't want to lose her," Jade continued. "It's like they've been like this forever."

Sofia and Hugo looked at each other. They thought it was strange that Ruby and Jade thought they had been friends since the day they met, but that wasn't true. Sofia and Hugo thought it was time Jade and Ruby learned that.

"It's really funny you say that," Hugo said, putting on his boots. "Sofia and I weren't always friends."

"You weren't?" Ruby and Jade gasped.

"No, we weren't friends when we first met," Sofia declared. "We had a rocky start." She and Axel helped Hugo on his feet.
