During lunch, Hildegard thought about what she had done. She and Sofia were each happy to have their necklaces back. Hildegard was dismayed when she lost her necklace, and she realized that Sofia felt the same way the minute she knew her amulet was gone. Hildegard didn't realize how much her mother's necklace meant to her until she lost it, and Sofia's respect meant a lot to her too. Hildegard went up to Sofia and Hugo.

"Sofia, I am so sorry I took your amulet," Hildegard apologized. "You must've felt awful the minute you realized it was gone. I didn't realize how much Mother's necklace meant to me until I lost it. I'm so sorry."

Sofia knew that sometimes people aren't grateful for what they have until they lose it. She felt bad that Hildegard felt the same way she did when she lost her ruby necklace...even though Hildegard was the reason the amulet was missing in the first place.

"It's okay, Hildy," Sofia smiled.

Hildegard was happy that Sofia had forgiven her for stealing her amulet. But she was still in trouble for the uproar she had caused. Not only did she steal Sofia's amulet, but she lost her mother's necklace too. The fairies and the Queen of Freezenburg both thought of a good punishment for Hildegard.
