The next morning, Axel's friends Henry and Miles came over to find the cure for the rash. Axel picked up a book, but Henry didn't think it would help.

"Supernaturals? Axel, that book is full of spa treatments for girls," Henry scoffed.

"Okay," Axel frowned.

"Well, I'll help you find that remedy when I get home," Hugo declared.

"Okay, baby bro," Axel smiled.

Just then, Sofia showed up, wearing her blue flying derby clothes. "Good morning, Hugo," she waved. She was going to ride to Royal Prep with Hugo, and she saw Axel's strange condition.

"He landed in some strange poison oak on a hike," Hugo told Sofia. He turned to Axel and said, "I'll see you later."

Hugo and Sofia hurried outside. When they got on their flying horses, they hurried to Royal Prep.

"If we hurry, we can have time to search Royal Prep and find your amulet before school," Hugo assured Sofia.

Once at Royal Prep, Sofia and Hugo went to the fairies' office and asked if anyone turned in the amulet. The fairies looked in the Lost & Found room, but the amulet wasn't there.

"I'm sorry, dear, but the amulet isn't here," Flora sighed. "We'll let you know when someone turns it in."

"Okay, thank you," Sofia nodded.

As Hugo and Sofia emerged from the office, Hugo said, "Okay, let's search every place you'd been after gym class yesterday. You can look in the girls' locker room, and I'll search the gym."

"Okay," Sofia agreed.

Meanwhile, Hildegard and Clio were in the gym, looking for Sofia's amulet and Hildegard's necklace.

"We have to find them," Hildegard panted. "My mother is already angry with me for losing her necklace. I can't risk Sofia being mad at me too."

"What for?" Amber asked.

Hildegard and Clio turned around and realized that Amber was with them.

"Amber, what are you doing here?" Hildegard gasped.

"Sofia's amulet disappeared," Amber replied. "James and I are helping her look for it."

"Oh, is that so?" Hildegard smiled sheepishly.

"Yes, Hildegard, what's Sofia going to be mad at you about?" Amber asked.

"Nothing," Hildegard lied.

"Hildegard, what did you do?" Amber crossed her arms.

When nobody was looking, Hugo entered the gym and saw that Amber, Hildegard, and Clio were there too.

"Come on, Hildegard," Amber urged.

Hugo was listening to the conversation, and he saw the nervous look on Hildegard's face.

"Hildy, tell her," Clio urged.

"Okay, I took Sofia's amulet," Hildegard told Amber.

Hugo was horrified to hear that.

"You took Sofia's amulet?" Amber gasped. "No wonder it disappeared. Where is it?"

"I lost it," Hildegard admitted.

"You lost the amulet?" Amber fumed. "Sofia is going to be furious!"

"Please, Amber, don't tell her!" Hildegard begged.

"You want me to keep this a secret from Sofia?" Amber glared. "She's my sister."

"And you're my best friend," Hildegard protested. "Please promise me you won't say anything about this to her!"

"Okay," Amber agreed.

The girls didn't know that Hugo had had listened to every single word they had said. He couldn't believe that Hildegard was the one who took the amulet in the first place. He was upset that Sofia's own sister chose not to tell her. Hugo was Sofia's best friend, and he knew that she deserved the truth.

When it was time for class, Hugo met up with Sofia.

"Any luck?" Sofia asked.

"No, but there's something you deserve to know, Sofia," Hugo frowned.

"What's that?" Sofia asked.
