  Summer has come and past,
The innocent can never last,

  Cywren sighed as she looked down the long hallway, keeping her head low as she kept telling herself to inhale and exhale deep breaths. That's what the therapist told her to do. 

  She'd been out of school for the past two weeks due to a tragic incident happening. 

  Her father's death. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

  He was in an extreme car accident where the car had flipped multiple times into a ditch. The police were out there in seconds. They found James Caster stuck through the windshield of his car, glass shards stuck in his stomach from where it rested against the frame of the vehicle. 

  It took a few hours before any of the officers could bring themselves to tell Cywren. She was already stressing herself out so much with high school that none of them wanted to see how crushed she would be when they would tell her. 

  When they did, they thought that she would never leave the crime scene. 

  Like my fathers come to pass,
Seven years has gone so fast,

  Cywren slowly opened the door to her Biology class, sitting down at her table that sits four students each. 

  Normally in this class she sits at her table with Copper, Veronica, and Timebomb. 

  She just happened to get inside a few minutes before the bell would ring to dismiss them from third period to move to fourth. She began flipping through the pages in her notebook that her therapist had given her to make her feel better. Her heart stopped and tears began welling at her eyes when she found a picture of her as a little girl and her dad taped to one of the pages in the notebook. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

"Cywren!" Cywren's best friend, Timebomb's, voice shouted from the door way as she quickly closed the notebook and attempted to wipe the tears out of her eyes. 

  She looked up at him, feeling a smile playing at her lips as she jumped up into a hug that he was giving her. He had to be honest, he was extremely horrified for her. She'd been through enough as it was with losing her mother; but now her dad too? That's crossing boundaries for him. 

  Here comes the rain again,
Falling from the stars,

"I missed you..." Cywren whispered as Timebomb placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head, trying to make her feel better. 

"I missed you, too," He whispered to her as she tightened her grip on their hug. 

  She had to be completely honest, Timebomb was the only other person she'd ever loved like family. She was scared to lose him as well. And just that thought brought her to tears. 

  Drenched in my pain again,
Becoming who we are,

"Shh... You're alright, Cywren... I've got you... I'm right here..." He cooed into her ear, calming her down in almost an instant. All she was scared of anymore was losing him as well. 

  She had three words racked up in her mind, wanting to speak them and lock her lips with his, but knowing that she can't. She doesn't know if she'll ever get the chance to. 

  That scared her as well. 

  As my memory rests,
But never forgets what I lost,

  Timebomb had eventually let go of her, allowing her to hug Veronica and Copper as well. They both made strong attempts to cheer her up, but nothing compared to Timebomb's hugs. They could make her smile despite her going through the worst day of her life. 

  They continued the class, Cywren catching glances between Timebomb and the old photo of her father. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

  Once the final bell rang, Timebomb had offered to have Cywren over to his house to eat pizza and watch her favorite movies just to generally give her a good time. She needed a break. Desperately. 

  Timebomb of all people would know that, too. He spends most of his time with her. 

  After all, she was his crush. 

  Summer has come and past,

"What have you planned?" Cywren asked as he led her into his living room, both his hands covering her eyes as she felt him sit her on a couch and the aroma of pizza filled the air. 

"Ready?" Timebomb asked as she nodded and he removed his hands. 

  Her gasps echoed throughout the room. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

  She stared at the pile of pizza boxes and the twelve-packs of various sodas and soft drinks collected on the floors along with different assortments of her favorite movies strewn across the table. 

  She tackled the boy into a hug, smiling widely at how much trouble he had put himself through for her. 

"Thank you!" She yelped as he smiled. 

"Only for you, Cy..." He muttered back to her. 

  Bring out the bells again,
Like we did when Spring began,

  They snuggled up on the couch, Cywren being protected in Timebomb's arms while watching Big Hero 6. 

  About halfway through the movie, Cywren began remembering the first time that her and her dad went to go see this movie. His favorite was Honey Lemon because she was the intelligence of the group. She was nerdy and... And reminded him of her. 

  Next thing she knew, she found herself crying again. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

"Woah. Hey. Cy, it's okay," Timebomb spoke, pausing the movie as he wrapped her up in his arms, hugging her tightly. 

"It's not okay, Timebomb... H-He's gone..." She barely managed to choke out along with the sobs she was letting out. 

"Shh... Breathe, Cy..." He whispered to her, rocking her back and forth as he pulled her body up onto his lap. 

  Here comes the rain again,
Falling from the stars,

  She had a tight grip on his t-shirt as she continued to cry, feeling him take the glasses off the bridge of her nose and place them on the side table. He pulled her up so her head was resting in the crook of his neck, now rubbing circles on her back as well. 

"I'm here, Cy... I've got you..." He whispered into her ear, trying to achieve one thing. 

  A smile to appear on her face. 

  Drenched in my pain again,
Becoming who we are,

  "Cywren?" Timebomb whispered as she looked up at him, her iris' were a flawless blue shade as the rest of her eyes were blazing red. They were puffy and still had tears stowed away in them. 

"Y-Yeah...?" She whispered. 

  As my memory rests,
But never forgets what I lost,

"I'm not gonna leave you. You're always gonna have me if you want me or not," He whispered as she nodded, absolutely grateful for those words. 

"You're wanted, Timebomb... Because you're the only person trying to help..." She spoke, sniffing periodically in her statement. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

"And I'm not gonna stop helping... I'm here..." He whispered as she rested her head against his skull, her chin perched on his shoulder. 

"Thank you..." She whispered while releasing a small sigh. 

  Summer has come and past,
The innocent can never last,

  A few minutes later, they were still in that position except she was slowly drifting to sleep while Timebomb played with her hair. 

"Cy? Can I tell you something?" Timebomb finally spoke up as she nodded. 

  Wake me up when September ends,

  He took a deep breath, finally gaining the courage to say it. 

"You're perfect. Beautiful. Irresistible. Astonishing. And the one girl that I can't let leave my life. You were gone for two week's and I missed you so much. I-I love you, Cy..." He whispered as her eyes widened. 

  Like my fathers come to pass,
Twenty years has gone so fast,

  She was being really silent, making fear run through Timebomb. 

  Maybe she didn't love him back?

  Wake me up when September ends,

  Maybe she wouldn't want to be his friend anymore. 

  Maybe he had just ruined everything.
