I watched, pleased as the walls raised. These games were going to be interesting. I could tell.

I leaned over to Leo, "Where's your human captain, Leo? I didn't notice him in the ranks."

Leo crossed his arms and grinned, "He's in disguise."

"Disguise? Why? Isn't the whole point of putting him in the games to get the people used to him?" I asked.

"Yes, but if you sneer at the word human, imagine how the competitors will act when they find out they're competing against one. The people and competitors know that a human is competing, but they don't know which competitor it is. It helps that so many people are competing in their human forms," Leo explained.

I frowned, but nodded. I'd allow it... and it wasn't like I had much of a choice. The games had already started.

"So, I take it you know who the human is?" Alya asked from her seat beside mine.

"Adrien picked his own costume without me. I'll have to choose who to cheer for just like everyone else," Leo explained.

I raised my eyebrows at him but nodded.

"Oh look! Here come the minotaurs!" Alya grinned, excitedly. I leaned forward a bit and watched as four minotaurs ran into the maze. One was painted yellow and blue, another red, orange, and yellow, one green and pink, and the final one white. Black symbols were also painted on their bodies, and black loin clothes were around their waists. They each had a ball of yarn made from pure gold suspended between their horns.

The bulls were dressed to represent the four seasons. The competitors were tasked with escaping the maze. There were several ways to do this. Either run through the maze till they found one of the exits -though this was considered a coward's choice and did not have very high success rates-, retrieve one of the golden balls from the top of the minotaurs' heads -they were magical and when you rolled them out would lead you to the nearest exit-, follow another competitor's trail of golden yarn, or steal a ball of yarn from a competitor. The first three to make it out of the maze were considered the winners of this round, and the rest who followed were allowed to compete in the next event. The competitors 'slain' by the minotaurs would be disqualified.

This was a round where it was smart to work with a fellow competitor to win, and a time for unconventional thinking. There were no real rules, though there were definitely lines that could be crossed.

"Looks like Cammy will be winning this round," Alya said proudly. I sought Cammy out in the giant maze and found her quickly. She had already found a minotaur and was easily dodging every attack he tried. She'd wear him out then steal his golden ball and make a quick and clean getaway. Alya was right. At the moment, Cammy was obviously in the lead.

I looked to Leo, seeing who he was watching, trying to get a hint of who the human might be. However, Leo's eyes jumped from one competitor to the next.

Suddenly, Alya gasped, "Why that low life! Marinette, that has to be illegal! He just stole the ball of yarn while Cammy was distracting the minotaur!" Alya stood up, "CHEATER! LOW LIFE! COWARD!" She screamed, though I doubt many could hear her over the roar of the crowd.

"Sorry Alya, but that guy is in the right. He hasn't done anything wrong," Leo said, "Thievery is allowed. And technically, the guy didn't steal. He just took advantage of the situation."

Alya looked angrily at Leo, then muttered something about taking advantage of the situation with a knife to the guy's throat while he was sleeping.

I watched the competitor run through the maze. He was dressed with a black wrap around his waist with black leather straps across his bare chest that held swords in scabbards at his back. His hair was also black with golden highlights, and a panther mask covered his face. Grecian sandals were at his feet with straps that came to his shins.

He rolled out the yarn, following the rolling ball through the maze. However, just before he reached the exit he was tackled to the ground. I frowned. I didn't recognize that competitor. He was a giant, and seemed to be made entirely out of stone.

Suddenly, his voice bellowed throughout the entire amphitheater, silencing the crowd, "I AM STONEHEART! They told me I could never win the heart of the gentle, so I'll crush the bodies of the strong! Bring me your two greatest champions! The ones who hold the magic jewels! Ladybug! Black Cat! Come save your precious people!"

With that, the monster, StoneHeart, thrust his fists against the stone walls, breaking the nearest ones to pieces. Then, he picked up the giant chunks and hurled them straight into the audience.

I stood quickly. Ladybug. The monster had called for me. And Black Cat... whoever that was. But I didn't have time to worry about him.

"Alya, gather the sirens and get people to safety. Leo, see to GrandMer and Grandpappy. They're in the viewing box over there," I pointed.

"What are you going to do?" Leo asked.

I looked down onto StoneHeart, "Destroy that monster. Tikki? Tikki, are you here?"

My kwami was suddenly before me, "Tikki, what is that creature?"

Tikki shook her head, "He's no creature, Marinette. He's an innocent person! He radiates power though. Evil power from a miraculous. I'm afraid someone has gotten a hold of the Moth miraculous. The wearer can send magic butterflies called akumas to grant normal people superpowers and turn them into their devoted followers... but the miraculous isn't meant to be used for evil purposes! This is not good."

I looked at the havoc StoneHeart was leaving, "Tikki, how do I stop this?"

"The akuma. There should be some sort of object like a shoe, or a necklace, or a sword that the akuma's hiding in. Break it, then use your yoyo to catch it."

"Break the object, capture the akuma. Anything else?"

"If you need an extra boost of help, call on your special power. It's your lucky charm. You'll know what to do with it then. After you capture the akuma, throw your lucky charm into the air and call out 'Miraculous Ladybug'. It will set everything back to normal."

"Okay, find the object, lucky charm, capture akuma, miraculous ladybug. Is that it?"

"Oh! One more thing. After you use your lucky charm you'll only have five minutes until you transform back. You'll have to do it in secret though. Whoever is controlling the moth miraculous can't know you're ladybug! They'd use your loved ones against you."

"Okay. Find the object, lucky miraculous, five minutes, break the object, magic something charm, capture akuma?"

"No, it's find the object, lucky charm, five minutes, break the object, capture the akuma, miraculous ladybug," TIkki corrected.

Everything was swimming in my head.

"Tikki... I can't do this! It can't be me! I have a kingdom to run. I can't be a superhero, a siren, and a queen! Oh, what was grandpappy thinking?!?" I panicked.

"Marinette, breathe. Look at StoneHeart. Look at your people. There is no one else. You were destined for this roll. Now fulfill it!" Tikki exclaimed.

I took a deep breath. Then nodded, trying to look brave. I had to do this, because if I didn't, who would?

"What are the transformation words?"

"Spots on."

"Tikki, lend me your power. Spots on!"

...

"Plagg, are you there?" I whispered. I was hiding underneath one of the fallen maze walls that leaned against its neighbor.

My kwami flew into view, yawning, "Did something exciting happen?"

"You could say that. I-"

"Ugh, I'm so hungry! Hey... what's this wall made of. It kinda smells salty like cheese," Plagg immediately flew to it, and began to nibble on it.

"Plagg, this is no time to think about food! I need your help. Remember all that destiny stuff you were telling me about? Well I think it's time to-"

"That can wait. I need to eat first! Did you know I haven't eaten in a full ten minutes?" Plagg asked.

I groaned. It had been this way ever since I'd met the kwami. It was late at night, and everyone had been asleep. I was looking over the magical ring the old man had given me when it suddenly lit up. There in front of me was a floating, tiny, cat like thing. And almost immediately, he began demanding food.

"Plagg, what do I do?" I asked, looking out, "he asked for the Black Cat. That's supposed to be me!"

"Black Cat, such a boring name. I always liked a bit of spice in a name. Maybe something French?"

"French? I don't know a lot of French."

"Eh, you only need two words. Noir and Chat."

"Noir and Cat?"

"No, Noir and Chat."

I shook my head, "We're getting off subject."

"Ya, ya. Anyhow. You need to transform and help the bug girl fight the baddy. You crush the evil butterfly and everything will be awesome again. To transform, you say 'Claws Out' and-"

"Awesome. Plagg, Claws out!" I exclaimed.

"Wait I haven't finished explaininnnnggggggggg" Plagg cried out as he was suddenly sucked into my ring. Blinding lights began to flash, and energy surged through my body. When I opened my eyes, I looked down at myself, eyes wide.

Things just got interesting.

And so it begins....Hey guys! Sorry this one is such a short chapter! Next one should be longer. Thx so much for reading!
