(Shadow POV)

I walked around the fairgrounds for a long while, thinking about what that guy said down in the underground city. Who was he? And who is this greater enemy that he spoke of?

Shadow: I've got a feeling that Ozpin didn't tell me everything that day.

???: Hey there, Shadow!

I turned around to see a bat Faunus.

Shadow: Rouge.

Rouge: It looks like I'm heading for the doubles round.

Shadow: The only reason you're even in the tournament was because you and Amy needed to replace Sage and Scarlet in team Sun.

Rouge: What can I say? The four of us make a good team.

It started to get quiet for a few seconds.

Rouge: Hey Shadow? You've been a little distant since the day we stopped Eggman. What's on your mind?

Shadow: ... You and I both know Eggman went down too easily.

She nodded.

Rouge: Yeah.  Every time we tried to arrest him on Mobius, he'd find a way around it and escape. It's strange how he comes to this world and suddenly gets arrested without any real effort. I can only guess that he's up to something far greater. But how can you prove it with no evidence?

Shadow: I... I don't know. But right now-

Rouge: What is it?

Shadow: I sense two people fighting. And it's not in the arena. Let's go.

*timeskip*

Rouge and I ran to the courtyard where a large group of students were gathering around a fight between two huntsmen. Suddenly Mercury and Aka ran out the group and Aka bumped into me.

Shadow: Are you okay?

I held out my hand and helped her up.

Aka: Yeah. Aka needs to watch where she's going next time.

I then noticed that she was wearing a cast on her right arm.

Shadow: What happened to your arm?

Aka: Huh? Oh, Aka broke it during the battle in the tournament. But no need to worry. Aka's strong so she can handle herself. Anyway, Aka got's to go. See Shadow later!

And with that, she ran off. I then saw a Chaos Emerald on the ground where she fell and picked it up.

Rouge: Did that girl drop it?

Shadow: I think so.

Rouge: Do you think she's...?

Shadow: No. She could have easily picked it up without knowing what it is. But this does mean we have all seven chaos emeralds. So if something big does happen, we may be ready.

I then noticed Ironwood walking up to stop the fight with Penny behind him. I also discovered that one of the people fighting was Weiss's sister and the other was Ruby's uncle, Qrow.

Ironwood: Schnee!

Winter: General Ironwood, sir!

Ironwood: What in the world do you think you're doing?

Winter: He started the altercation, sir.

Qrow: That's actually not true, she attacked first.

Ironwood: Is that right?

Winter looked down in guilt and Ironwood looked around at all everyone who was watching. Then at Qrow.

Ironwood: And you? What are you doing here?

Qrow: I should be asking you the same thing.

Ironwood: I-

Ozpin: Now, now everyone.

We turned to see Ozpin walking up with his assistant, Glynda.

Ozpin: There is a sanctioned fight happening just around the Colosseum that I can assure you has better seats. And popcorn.

Glynda: Break it up, everyone! We will take care of this mess.

Then they all started to head off. I turned to Rouge.

Rouge: You goin' with them?

Shadow: ... I still get this feeling that we're in over our heads on this one. Whatever we do, we can't let our guard down.

Rouge: Roger that.

I left Rouge and followed Ozpin to his office.

*timeskip*

Me, Ozpin, Glynda, and Qrow began to head up the elevator.

Qrow: Who's the pipsqueak?

Shadow: Name's Shadow. As for why I'm here... well, I can fill you in later.

Once we got to the top, Ironwood and Winter were already there and they weren't very happy with Qrow.

Winter: What were you thinking?!

Ironwood: If you were one of my men, I would have you shot.

Qrow: If I were one of your men, I'd shoot myself.

Glynda: While I wouldn't condone his behavior, retaliating like you did certainly didn't help the situation.

Winter: He was drunk!

Glynda: He's always drunk!

And as if to prove it, Qrow started finishing up his drink.

Ozpin: *sigh* Qrow, why are you here?

Ironwood: You've been out of contact for weeks! You can't just go dark like that in the field.

Qrow: I'm not one of your special operatives, Jimmy.

Winter: General.

Qrow: Whatever. You sent me to get intel on our enemy, and I'm telling you our enemy is here.

Ironwood: We know.

Qrow: Oh! Oh, You know. Well, thank goodness I'm out there risking my life to keep you all informed!

Ironwood: *sigh* Qrow.

Qrow: Communications a two-way street, pal.

He took out his scroll.

Qrow: See this? It's called the send button.

Winter: They had reason to assume you'd been compromised.

Qrow: And I have reason to assume you don't need to be here. Seriously, who invited these guys?

Ironwood: Schnee, we'll discuss this incident back on my ship.

Winter: But, sir!

Ironwood: Winter, leave.

Winter: Yes, sir.

Winter then left the room.

Ozpin: And you Shadow?

Shadow: I believe I'll be staying. I have my reasons. Now, as you were saying.

Qrow: Your little infiltrator isn't just another pawn. They're the reason for Autumn's condition

Glynda: What!?

Qrow: Despite what the world thinks, we're not just teachers or generals or headmasters. The people in this room, the leaders of the other two academies, we're the ones that keep the world safe from the evils that no one even knows about. It's why we meet behind closed doors, why we work in the shadows. So tell me James, when you brought your army to Vale, did you do it to be discreet or did you just not give a damn?

It got quiet for a second. Ironwood took out his scroll and sat it on Ozpins desk. Then, a hologram appeared showing ships heading to Vale.

Ironwood: Discreet wasn't working. I'm here because this is what's necessary.

Qrow: You're here because Qrow wanted you here! He made you a part of this inner circle and opened your eyes to the real fight that's in front of us.

Ironwood: And I am grateful.

Qrow: Oh well, you've got a real funny way of showing it.

Ironwood: The people of Vale needed someone to protect them, someone who would act. When they look to the sky and see my fleet, they feel safe, and our enemy will feel our strength.

Shadow: With all due respect general, that fleet of yours isn't large enough to stop our enemy. All it's doing is showing how much you fear their chances of victory.

Ozpin: And fear will bring the Grimm. A guardian is a symbol of comfort. But an army is a symbol of conflict. There's an energy in the air now, a question in the back of everyone's minds: If this is the size of our defenses, what is it we're expecting to fight?

Ironwood then noticed that nobody in the room was going to back him up on his idea. He let out a sigh and took his scroll back.

Ironwood: So then, what would you suggest we do?

Ozpin: I suggest we find our guardian.

(Aka POV)

Me and Mercury were sitting down telling Master about us seeing Qrow.

Cinder: Are you sure?

Mercury: Bad hair, uses a scythe, and smelled like my dad after a long day. It was him.

Emerald: What do we do?

Cinder: Nothing. We stay the course. They have no idea who we are, so we have no need to worry. Besides, the last of the heavy lifting is being taken care of thanks to our clever little friend. Ahh, speaking of which, it appears we have a new access point.

Emerald: Anywhere good?

Cinder: You could say that. Go to your rooms. I'll prepare everything for tomorrow.

Emerald: Yes ma'am.

Mercury: Got it.

Cinder: And Aka.

Aka: Yes master?

Cinder: Hows that arm of yours?

Aka: He keeps fighting back, but Aka can keep control.

Cinder: Good.

Master picked up her scroll and started messing with the matches.

Cinder: Let's give the crowd a good fight.

-To Be Continued-

Hello! So I did get myself in a small bind. I realized it'll be boring to just explain all the changes I made on Sonic's side. So I wanted to know if you would like me to make small extra chapters that explain things like the chaos emeralds and things like that. Besides that, hope you enjoy and I will see you later! Goddess out!
