You walked through the forest near your house. You loved going there because it seemed... special.

You walked into a clearing where a stream flowed. There was... a black and red hedgehog asleep by the stream. You looked at it with curiosity before sitting down beside it. Your first instinct when you see an animal was always to scratch behind its ear. So, without even realizing it, you started to scratch behind its ear. A low purr was heard from the ebony hedgehog, causing you to giggle.

The giggle caused the hedgehog's ears to twitch slightly. It's eyes opened, making you jump. You quickly pulled your hand away and back away a bit.

The hedgehog's ruby red eyes glared at you before he said. "Who are you?"

"Y-you can talk!?" You stared at the hedgehog with surprise.

He rolled his eyes. "Yes, I can talk." Then he mumbled. "Idiotic humans."

"Hey! I heard that!" You said, offended.

"Does it look like I care?" He snapped. "Now answer my question."

"(Y/N) (Y/L/N)." You said.

He crossed his arms. "Where am I?"

"You really don't know where you are?" You laughed slightly.

"Just answer the question." He growled.

'This hedgehog has an attitude.' You thought before saying, "(W/Y/L)."

"Earth?" He asked.

"Yeah Earth, where else?" You were starting to get agitated. He was asking you questions and you didn't even know his name. "And before I say anything more, tell me your name. You do have a name, right?"

"Of course I have a name." He snapped.

"Then what is it!?" You yelled, but you couldn't hide the curious look on your face.

"Shadow." He said harshly before turning around and starting to walk away.

"Wait!" You grabbed his arm. He turned around and looked at your (E/C) eyes. "Please don't go... it gets lonely here..."

You blushed lightly, and looked at him. His eyes seemed to soften as he nodded.

Your (E/Ç) eyes widened. "R-really!?"

Shadow simply nodded again. You pulled him into a hug, to happy to care. He stiffened but soon relaxed. He did not, however, hug back, but you didn't care.

You two spent the rest of the day talking, and getting to know each other. Shadow's mood seemed to lighten more as you talked.

*Time skip*Two weeks later*Night*

You looked at Shadow with tears in your eyes as he explained the worst possible thing.

"What do you mean you have to leave!?" You exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N). I must go back to my world." Shadow wiped some of your tears away.

"B-but what about m-me?" You asked through sobs.

"I'm sorry... I have to leave you..." Shadow pulled you in for a hug, for the first time since you've met him.

It just made you cry more. To be honest, you had feelings for the ebony hedgie. It hurt you really bad when you found out that you won't ever see him again.

He pulled away from the hug, and... kissed you!? Your eyes widened in shock.

He pulled away before you even thought about kissing him back. "Goodbye, (Y/N)..." then he ran off, leaving you to wonder what just happened...

So, time skip to a year later...

You were walking through the forest again. You're mind wondered to what happened here a year ago. Tears gathered in your eyes as the memory of Shadow the Hedgehog came into your mind. You were at the same exact place where you met him and where he left you... forever...

"Hey! Are you (Y/N)?" A blue hedgehog ran up to you.

"Uh... yes..." you didn't know what else to say.

The blue hedgehog smiled and said, "I'm Sonic the Hedgehog. I'm here to take you to Shadow."

"Sh-Shadow!?" You jumped at the name. "You know where he is!?"

"Yeah! Now come on! We have to hurry, or else Shadow will die of loneliness!" Sonic grabbed your arm and dragged you through the forest.

Finally, you two arrived at a clearing where a two-tailed fox was in a plane.

"Hey, Tails! I found (Y/N)!" Sonic called.

"The X Tornadoes ready to travel to Möbius, but it might be a bumpy ride!" Tails, as you heard, said.

You and Sonic got into the plane and it took off. It went faster and faster until it suddenly stopped.

"Woah, (Y/N). Look at yourself!" Sonic gaped at you.

You gave him a confused look and looked at your hand to see it's... (F/C)!? You had fur! Once you landed, you ran to a nearby lake and looked at your reflection.

"I'm a (A/T)!" You yelled, completely shocked.

Sonic grabbed your arm and started dragging you to a house. You were now the same height as him and Tails, so it was a lot easier for them to drag you.

You three went to the front door, and Sonic knocked on it.

A little bit later, the door opened to reveal an ebony hedgehog, who glared at Sonic and said, "What do you want, faker!?"

"I saw how depressed you've been lately and brought an old friend of yours to see you." Sonic said. "You remember (Y/N), right?"

Shadow's ears perked up at your name.

You couldn't help yourself anymore, you ran up and hug attacked your old friend. "Shadow!"

He tensed when you hugged him, but as soon as you spoke, he hugged you back. "(Y/N)!"

"We better give them some space and time." Sonic whispered to Tails and they both ran off.

"I missed you so much, (Y/N)." Shadow whispered in your ear.

You pulled away from the hug and kissed him. He kissed back instantly.

You both pulled away and you smiled. "I may have had a small crush on you..."

"I think you already know that I feel the same way." Shadow said, talking about when he had to leave the year before.

You smiled and scratched behind his ear, causing him to purr just like when you first met him.

You stayed in Möbius with Shadow, but most days,
