History: Owen was part of a very famous and rich family, on the outside they where the ideal family but unknown to everybody his father Nickolas was a follower of soul edge.

One night when the family was sleeping, Nickolas in an attempt to gain further favor with Nightmare, he snuck into the rooms of his wife and children and murdered the family.

Owen would come back a week later from destroying a bandit camp and find his father being sentenced to death confused on why his father was going to be hanged he stopped the trial demanding answers as to why his father was to be killed and as to why his mother an siblings weren't here defending him.

Everyone looked on him in pity seeing the young man becoming hysterical seeing his father being treated like an animal, his confusion was broken by his personal maid

"Weiss: master Owen, your father is being put to death For killing your mother and siblings *breaking into tears cause she saw the two youngest children as her own siblings and will now have to forever remember their frozen faces of horror*

Owen: *turns to his father angered* is what she say true father, did you murder our family!?

Nickolas: *crazed laugh* yes I offered their souls to my master nightmare, my only regret is that I couldn't get yours as well HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!"

And with the horrified revelation to what happened to his family in a blind rage he lunged at his father a brutally beat him but before he could kill him he was dragged off by guards, owen wasn't charged with any crimes that day due to him being driven to an emotionally compromised state.

After his father's execution he would go into his father's study and read through all of his notes on the soul blades and would determine that as long as both blades exist that no one would be safe

After a month of grieving he would reveal to the town what he learned and made it his personal mission to rid the world of the two blades
