So fun fact: Gilbert Lafayette is also apparently called The Hero of two worlds and Le Héros des Deux Mondes and was such a goddamn noble person that should go down in history more.

"Look! Grandpa's in the paper!
"War hero Gerald Broflovski loses senate seat to young upstart Craig Tucker." Grandpa just lost his seat in the senate!" Ike says.

"Sometimes... that's how it goes," I say.

I couldn't be more grateful for the man for taking me in as if I were his son. Both Leo and I did go to our own families but mine wasn't safe for reasons out of my parents control and Leo had reasons in his parents control they refused any change to.

"Mommy's gonna find out any minute!" Ike says.

"I'm sure she already knows," I say.

She does nothing but work....

"Further down-," Ike says.

"Yeah? What was it there further down?" I ask.

"Let's meet the newest senator from New York," Ike says.

"New York."

They romanticised New York quite often, saying that there we could be new... what a joke?

"Our senator," Ike states.

The loud sound of Wendy stepping over herself to open the door can be heard.

"Tucker? Since when are you a Democratic-Republican?" Wendy asks.

"Since being one put me on the up and up again," Craig responds.

"No one knows who you are or what you do," Wendy says, the most passive aggressive I have ever heard her.

"They don't need to know me. They don't like you," Craig says.

Politics are so stupid!

"Excuse me?" Wendy asks.

"Oh, Wall Street thinks you're great!
You'll always be adored by the things you create," Craig says.

He smirks.

"But upstate—," He says.

"Wait," Wendy says.

"—people think you're crooked," he says.

They stare each other down for a moment.

"Broflovski's seat was up for grabs so I took it," he says.

"I've always considered you a friend," Wendy says.

"I don't see why that has to end," Craig says.

"You changed parties to run against my technical father-in-law," Wendy says.

"I changed parties to seize the opportunity I saw, I swear your pride will be the death of us all...
Beware, it goeth before the fall," Craig says.

~Time skip and a perspective change now.~

"The issue on the table: France is on the verge of war with England and... do we provide aid and our troops to our French allies or do we stay out of it? Remember, my decision on this matter is not subject to congressional approval! The only person you have to convince is me Secretary Nelson, you have the floor, ma'am," Token says.

"When we were on death's door, when we were needy... We made a promise, we signed a treaty! We needed money and guns and half a chance. Who provided those funds?" Nelson asks.

"France," Malkison says.

So they are expecting America to give themselves to death? Are they assuming we can go into debt with what we give to help an another country? Much less... FRANCE, they are far bigger of an empire at the moment than we are, even with our larger land. Is giving them what we have the idea at hand? Are we supposed to watch ourselves bleed? Just so France can be freed?

"n return, they didn't ask for land! Only a promise that we'd lend a hand and stand with them, if they fought against oppressors," Nelson says.

Liar! In it's simplicity, some islands were given. True, none under our control but they did ask for simple land in the islands which was in our area.

"And revolution is messy but now is the time to stand! Stand with our brothers as they fight against tyranny! I know that Wendy Testaburger is here and she would rather not have this debate! I'll remind you that she is not Secretary of State! She knows nothing of loyalty," Nelson says.

I feel the colour drain from my face as the word 'loyalty'. Do not expose  me now.

"Smells like new money, dresses like fake royalty! Desperate to rise above her station, everything she does betrays the ideals of our nation," Nelson says.

"Hey, and if ya don't know, now ya know, Mr. President," Nelson continues.

"Thank you, Secretary Nelson. Secretary Testaburger, your response," Token states.

"You must be out of your Goddamn mind if you think The President is gonna bring the nation to the brink of meddling in the middle of a military mess! A game of chess, where France is Queen and Kingless! We made a promise, we signed a treaty.... with a King whose head is now in a basket. Would you like to take it out and ask it?" I ask.

I mime taking a head.

"So we'd say "Should we honor our treaty, King Louis' head?" And he'd respond with... I don't know, maybe "Uh... do whatever you want, I'm super dead." So yeah, in our weak state, the nation simply can't fight in another war," I say.

"Enough, Testaburger is right," Token says.

"Mr.President," Nelson starts.

I had half her time and still she decides that she has the right to fight with the decision made already.

"We're too fragile to start another fight," Token says.

That is the most understatement of the year!

"But sir, do we not fight for freedom?" Nelson ask.

"Sure, when the French figure out who's gonna lead 'em," Token says.

"The people are leading—," Nelson says, in despair.

"The people are rioting! There's a difference. Frankly, it's a little disquieting you would let your ideals blind you to reality," Token says.

Nelson is an optimist, I, for one, am a realist and will take all this with a grain of salt, as it's possible they have just doomed themselves fully.

"Testaburger," Token says.

"Sir," I state, loud and proud.

"Draft a statement of neutrality," Token says.

"Did you forget Bebe?" Nelson asks.

"What?" I ask her.

How dare she say that I forgot a person so close to me?

"Have you an ounce of regret? You accumulate debt, you accumulate power but yet in their hour of need, you forget," Nelson says.

"Bebe's a smart woman, she'll be fine," I say.

I look at her.

"And before she was your friend, she was mine! If we try to fight in every revolution in the world, we never stop. Where do we draw the line?" I ask.

"So quick-witted," Nelson says, voice full of simple sarcasm.

"Alas, I'll admit it," I say.

"I bet you were quite a lawyer," Nelson says.

"My defendants got acquitted," I say.

"Yeah. Well, someone oughta remind you," Nelson says.

"What?" I ask.

"You're nothing without Black behind you," Nelson says.

"Testaburger!"

"Daddy's calling," Nelson says.
