One of my favourite songs in my life, think about it, I just love Leslie singing, it's one of my favourite things to listen to. Fact: Burr's daughter got lost at sea at the age of 29.

"Ah, Mrs.Secretary," I say.

"Mr. Tucker, sir," she says, smiling.

"Did'ya hear the news about good old General Stoley?" I ask.

"No," she says.

"You know Clermont street?" I ask.

"Yeah," she says.

"They renamed it after him, the Stoley legacy is secure," I say.

"Sure," she says, smiling at the word 'legacy.' Goddamn this woman, she's not even capable of taking a break!

"And all he had to do is die," I say.

"That's a lot less work," she admits.

"We ought to give it a try," I say.

We both laugh.

"Now how're you gonna get your debt plan through?" I ask.

"I guess I'm gonna finally have to listen to you," she says.

I laugh.

"Really?" I ask.

"Talk less," she says.

Her voice can be a lot more terrifying saying those words than I remember.

"Smile more," she says.

She has a voice that makes you back away and do as she says.

"Do whatever it takes to get my plan on the Congress floor," she admits with the voice she normally talks with.

"Now, Malkison and Nelson are ruthless," I say.

"Hate the sin, love the sinner," she says.

It's terrifying how easily she changes her voice between three. Normal, authoritative and wooing.

"Testaburger."

"I'm sorry, Craig, I have to go," she says.

"But-," I say.

"Decisions are happening over dinner," she says.

She goes in. Two Virginians and an immigrant walk into a room. Diametrically opposed.... foes....

~Time skip.~

They emerge with a compromise, having opened doors that were previously closed, bros.

The immigrant emerges with unprecedented financial power, a system she can shape however she wants! The Virginians emerge with the nation's capital and here's the pièce de résistance..... no one else was in the room where it happened. The room where it happened had three people in it! The room where it happened has nothing to tell now, at least from the little that's possible to see. No one else was in the room where it happened! None of the important people outside of the three were in the room where it happened. No one was in the room where it happened. The room where it happened was supposed to be an open place, nobody knows what happened even if this effects our money.

No one really knows how the game is played! The art of the trade! How the sausage gets made, we just assume that it happens! But no one else is in the room where it happens....

Allie claims,

"Wendy was on Black's doorstep one day! In distress 'n disarray."

Allie claims,

"Wendy said, 'I had nowhere else to turn' and basically begged me to join the fray."

Allie claims,

"I approached Malkison and said 'I know you have 'er but let's hear what she has to say.'"

Allie claims,

"Well, I arranged the meeting! I arranged the menu, the venue, the seating."

BUT no one else was in the room where it happened! The room where it happened! I wanted to be in the room where it happened. No one else was the room where it happened. The fact the room where it happened was secured is quite the fact to know. The room where it happened was in front of me..... and I could grab the opportunity but I did not out of respect but I wonder... could it have been me in that room discussing her plan?

No one really knows how the parties get to yes.... I would have said so immediately. Wendy is an intellectual woman.

This happening is the pieces of that are sacrificed in every game of chess! We just assume that it happens.... But no one else is in the room where it happens.

Meanwhile: Malkison is grappling with the fact that not ev'ry issue can be settled by committee.

Meanwhile: Congress is fighting over where to put the capital.... it isn't pretty.

Then to what I heard and saw. I hear things here by these few honest fellows. They told me this:

Nelson approaches with a dinner and invite. And Malkison responds with Virginian insight.

"Maybe we can solve one problem with another and win a victory for the Southerners, in other words, Oh ho! A quid pro quo," he said.

"I suppose!" Nelson answered.

"Wouldn't you like to work a little closer to home?" Malkison asked.

"Actually, I would," Nelson answered.

"Well, I propose the Potomac," Malkison said.

"And you'll provide him his votes?" Nelson asked, in utter disbelief.

"Well, we'll see how it goes," Malkison said.

"Let's go," Nelson answered.

My response: "NO!"

This one is diplomatic power used in a way of.... what else than slightest bit of possible corruption.

This was in the room where it happened. The room where it happened! Corruption isn't a good thing to see here, nor in the room where it happened. No one else was in the room where it happened to say the pay was illegal! In the room where it happened...... could have been something else. I wanna be in the room where it happened.

My God! In God we trust! But we'll never really know what got discussed! Click-boom then it happened and no one else was in the room where it happened!

"Wendy Testaburger! What did they say to you to get you to sell New York City down the river?" I ask.

Wendy Testaburger.... she likes that place.

"Did Black know about the dinner?
Was there Presidential pressure to deliver?" I ask.

The sudden realisation hits me like a brick. Wendy Testaburger... you're an absolute genius.

"Or did you know, even then, it doesn't matter where you put the U.S. Capital—," I say.

"'Cause we'll have the banks, we're in the same spot," Wendy says.

"You got more than you gave!" I let out.

"And I wanted what I got! When you got skin in the game, you stay in the game... But you don't get a win unless you play in the game! Oh, you get love for it, you get hate for it! You get nothing if you wait for it," she says.

"Wait for it"

"Wait for it."

Kyle you bitch—

"God help and forgive me, I wanna build something that's gonna outlive me," she says.

She gets close up.

"What do you want, Tucker?" She asks.

The question of 'What do you want, Tucker' starts going in my head faster than a light goes 100 kilometres.

"If you stand for nothing, Tucker... what do you fall for?"

I wanna be in the room where it happens. I simply want to be in the room where it happens.

"I wanna be in the room where it happens," I mutter after Wendy.

The room where it happens
I wanna be in the room where it happens! I wanna be in the room!

What the fuck is with this obsessive thinking?

I wanna be in the room where it happens! The room where it happens! The room where it happens! I wanna be in the room where it happens! The room where it happens! The room where it happen—!

"The art of the compromise," I say.

I smile towards the door of the room.

"Hold your nose and close your eyes! We want our leaders to save the day.... but we don't get a say in what they trade away," I say, in the realisation.

"We dream of a brand new start but we dream in the dark for the most part! Dark as a tomb where it happens," I say.

I've got to be in the room where it happens. The people have the right to vote on such a decision! I've got to be in the room where it happens. I could tell the people what happens in it's best I can. I've got to be in the room where it happens, the people have the right to know the government facts, it shouldn't be hidden if it isn't a matter of war...

"Oh I've got to be in the room where it happens. I've got to be, I've gotta be, I've gotta be in the room," I say.
