Hello! Some of you may have noticed that I unpublished this story a few months ago after convincing myself that it was culturally insensitive. I've decided to republish, but I'll be reading through each chapter and editing to make sure that my writing is respectful to the cultures I write about.

Now, I have a favour to ask of you. As you read this story, if you catch any cultural inaccuracies, stereotypes, bias, representation issues, or problematic language, could you please point it out by leaving a comment or two on the offending chapter? A U T H O R ' S N O T E

The joy of holidays should not be limited to a certain time limit. All year round, I stress, that we shall experience this pure joy, this beautiful life, the happiness that envelops us from the beating heart, that diffuses to the tips of our fingers. Watch the magic bubble of festivity, extending, flowing and sparking for days and months, for months and years, years to centuries, from centuries to infinity.

We all deserve the euphoria of festive spirit. We deserve this excitement, whether it is to wake up excitedly on Christmas Day and unwrap the bundle of presents under the tree, whether it is to receive or offer an aromatic rose and a sweet kiss on the cheek, whether it is to be enveloped with rich laughter, whether it is to demand truckloads of Halloween candy while sporting a ghost costume. Once we uncover festive spirit, we discover that it never really leaves us.

For festive spirit lingers within every single one of us, so embrace it, and never look back.

I N F O R M A T I O N

1. Sparkler Snapshots consists of many writing styles, such as prose, dialogue, screenplays, letters, and more. They're also categorised under various genres. Each chapter is about a different holiday, and not just typical ones like Halloween or Christmas, but less well-known ones as well. The chapters are unrelated to each other, and each one features different characters.

2. There will be references and characters from my other stories, though it's unnecessary to read them. You may want to for background purposes, but you should be capable of understanding the chapters and characters without doing so.

3. You don't have to read the chapters in order. Since each chapter is unrelated to each other, you can skip chapters and still be fine. Don't want to read a chapter? Move onto the next one. Pick and choose as you wish. Please, don't be put off by the fact that some chapters are not to your taste. Just skip them and find the ones you like.

S Y N O P S I S

Dear beloved wanderer,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I extend a formal invitation to you for a worldwide expedition. I plan to travel the globe over the span of a single year, you see, and I am in desperate need of company. If you accept this offer, then be aware that we shall be experiencing more celebrations than most have in their lifetime. Even though each one is merely a bite-sized sample, they pack more punch than you may be able to handle. However, I know you love a challenge, so I do hope you consider this opportunity.

I would advise you dress up in comfortable garments as you dance your heart out for Cinco de Mayo, get your hands dirty while planting trees, and let the aroma of hot cocoa waft under your nose as Christmas music plays softly in the background. I suspect that we shall also be participating in some sort of musical event in June. Anyhow, if you would like to join me, then I shall meet you at the airport tomorrow morning with your tickets.
