So if you've read the last two chapters, i'm planning on writing a seperate story about Derek and Gerald since they have some history. Let me know what you guys think of that.

Anyways, enjoy!

Irene's POV

The ship was sailing closer to the island. The man had ordered another man to send reinforcements.

"Please, we need to get Mulop and his partner," Abeke pleaded, "Zerif is already here and he's not going to stop until he gets what he wants."

The man hesitated before reluctantly saying, "Fine, take Mulop and Sarah. And please, take care of my daughter."

"We promise we will, sir," Abeke replied, "Once we win this, your daughter will come back safely."

The man gave her a sad smile and nodded. They knew that they might not make it out alive. Irene remembered when Sam, her father, died to save her. Putting her first before himself for he knew that she was needed to save Erdas. The same thing was happening here and tears were threatening to spill from her eyes.

"Gastor," the man spoke, "My name is Gastor. Now go, we'll slow them down while you guys run. Byron, lead them to my daughter."

"Thank you Gastor," Rollan told him and they took off following a man named Byron.

Irene could see more people bursting out from the woods with more weapons and standing in a line as they waited for Zerif and his ship. She tried to look for the Redcloak ship and Tellun's Pride III but they were nowhere to be found. Byron lead them through the forest, not saying a single word to them. They reached a clearing filled with small tiny huts and people running everywhere. It was complete chaos and barely anyone noticed them.

They followed Byron through the huts until they stopped in front of a big hut. Right outside was a young girl, her eyes wide and frantic while an octopus was stuck to her leg. When the girl spotted them, she quickly rushed towards them.

"Byron, what's happening?" She asked, "Where's father?"

"Listen," Byron explained as fast as he could, "You're not safe here. A man named Zerif is catching all the Great Beasts and has already most of them on his side. He is on the island, fighting your father and the others, trying to capture Mulop. These Greencloaks will explain further but right now, you need to go with them."

"But, what about all of you?" Sarah asked, "I can't leave you."

"Don't worry about us," Byron reassured her, "We need you and Mulop to be safe. If Zerif catches Mulop, he will rule and destroy all of Erdas. Please understand."

Tears were threatening to spill from Sarah's eyes but she nodded in understanding.

"Thank you," Byron told her softly then turned to Rollan, "Quick, run through the forest, away from the beach. And take care of her."

"We promise we will," Rollan replied as Abeke gently told her to follow.

Rollan looked up to where Essix was and they followed Essix as they ran through the forest. They finally emerged to the other side of the island and spotted Tellun's Pride III and the Redcloak ship.

"So this is where they were hiding," Irene mumbled.

They started running towards the ship when there was a loud screech and a hawk. Irene looked up to duck down just in time as huge talons swiped at her. She saw that it was an eagle, Haliwir the Eagle. Then there was a huge snarl and running towards them was a huge leopard. To her surprise it was no other than Uraza the Leopard, the black twisting spiral on her forehead.

Hope's POV

They've been walking through the tunnel for hours and the team seemed to grow more uneasy and uncertain in each step they took. Ever since discovering that the parasite was just at the base of John's neck, Eilene had been watching him more frequently, the worry and fear clear in her eyes. Just then, Haley stopped abruptly, her gaze was filled with horror. Hope turned to where she was looking and gasped.

The tunnel opened to a huge place with some sort of net, or what was left of it. The smell of smoke was in the air and there was still a couple of fires, burning the net. Only a few strings remained but was still stable to cross.

"What is this place, Haley?" George asked.

"This is the Arachane Fields," Haley answered, "Or what's left of it. Legend says that the Arachane Fields are on of the three wards of protection around the Evertree. The music the web makes guard the way against evil, while the spiders catches what the web doesn't."

"Spiders?" Hope squeaked.

She was not a big fan of spiders.

"But...," Haley's voice trailed off into confusion, "I don't understand how it got burnt like this. Unless someone was here before."

"Conor, Meilin, and Takoda," Zoron spoke, "It has to be them. They must've crossed this web and somehow made it look like this."

"They must've had a guide," Haley said, "Because there was no way they could've made it this far without a guide. I think these strings are still strong enough to get us to the other side but it's better if we go two at a time so we won't put weight in one side."

Well, it was obvious who was going with who. Zoron glanced at her and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. Behind them, Eilene was talking silently to John. Hope couldn't hear what they were saying but John nodded shakily but Eilene didn't look too reassured. They all put their Spirit Animals back in passive except for Lazu who flew ahead.

Haley went first, followed by George. Once they were a couple of steps forward, Zoron and Hope went next. Hope took a deep breath and felt Zoron's hand on hers as they slowly made their way forward. They moved silently as they crossed the web. Hope couldn't spot any spiders, well not just yet anyways. They kept on walking, unsure how much further until they reach the other side.

Just then, Hope heard a loud hissing sound, then more hissing sounds. She glanced toward the sound and all the color drained from her face. Spiders were watching them and were crawling closer to them.

"Everyone, do not panic," she heard Haley's voice up ahead.

Just then, Hope spotted the biggest spider she had ever seen. The huge spider was looking at something right behind Hope. She realized that the spider was looking right at John.

"The music the web makes guards the way against evil while the spider catches what the web doesn't," Hope recalled Haley's words.

The string they were on moved and Hope started to hear the strings snap. The huge spider started crawling towards where John and Eilene were. Up ahead, Haley yelped as she accidentally slipped, managing to catch the string that was about to snap. George quickly grabbed her hand but they were both stuck on a string that was not going to hold for long. The spider was still making its way towards John and Eilene.

Hope and Zoron froze, unsure on who to save. George and Haley who were on a string that was about to snap or John and Eilene who was about to face a huge gigantic spider?

Dun, Dun, Dun. Another double cliffhanger! I have finally arrived back safely after that super long plane ride. Please vote and leave a comment on what you guys think. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
