"I'm worried I did something wrong," I tell my friends.

"Why do you think that?" Jewels asks, brushing her purple hair behind her ear.

"Because she hasn't talked much to me since the movie night." I look down at the ground. "I kind of miss her."

Sue scoffs. "Of course you do." I look up at her to find a smirk on her face. "You miss your little crush."

My face heats. "Shut up. She is not my crush. We're friends." Barely. But they don't need to know that.

"Please, it's obvious that you have a massive crush on her."

I sigh. Once they have something in their minds they won't believe anything else. "Fine." I roll my eyes. "Whether or not I have a crush on Emma - which I don't. I'm worried she's mad at me."

"Fine. Let's say your totally not a crush, is mad at you. Why do you think she's mad at you?" Sue asks. She leans against the lockers. A white leather jacket is slung over her shoulder and the school bag she bought for a ton of money is nowhere to be seen. Her one leg is kicked back against the lockers so the soles of her black high heeled boots are against it.

"That's the thing. I don't know why she would be mad at me."

"You said she hasn't talked to you much since your movie night?" Jewels looks over her shoulder at me, pausing in her search for something from her locker. I nod. "Has she had a ton of school work or a test to study for?"

"No."

She hums before turning back to her locker. "Maybe she's missing home? When was the last time she called her parents?"

I open my mouth and then close it. When was the last time she called her parents? I can't even recall a time where she has. "I'm not sure."

"Well that's a fun idea for date night." Sue laughs.

"What?"

She rolls her eyes. "Setting up a video chat with her parents." She smirks. "A great way to meet her parents."

"Would you stop please?" Sometimes I cannot stand her and the way she has to make a snide comment or joke about something in a super rude way.

"I'm just-"

"Well stop!" I snap. "You're not being helpful."

Her and Jewels share a look.

I roll my eyes. "Whatever. Neither of you are being helpful."

"I'm trying," Jewels says.

I look down the hall, my gaze instantly finds Emma's puff of hair. The only one truly like it in this school. "I gotta go."

"Oooh. Go run and cry to your girlfriend."

I shot a glare at Sue but walk away from the two of them. This is why I barely hang out with them. As much as I wish I could get new friends, I can't. Another thing I can thank Mother and Father for.

Emma snakes her way through the crowd. As I try to catch up people step in front of me and walk as slow as snails. I try not to groan as I attempt to step around them. By the time I do I glimpse Emma ducking into the computer lab. Why is she going in there? She doesn't have any classes that take place in the computer lab.

I start to walk in, but when I look into the room I freeze. Sitting right beside Emma is Blake. What is Emma doing with them? I thought I made it clear that Blake is trouble.

"Did you get all the information?" Blake asks, turning around to look at Emma which will reveal me standing in the doorway. I step to the side and turn so my back is to the wall but so I can still hear them talking.

"I tried my best," Emma says. "But I couldn't get into their basement. They have it locked up tight."

My eyes widen. Why would Emma go near the basement when I told her it's off limits? Something stirs in my gut.

"That should be fine as long as you hooked up to the lock?"

Emma doesn't voice a response.

"That's good. As long as you got the information from the lock in theory I should be able to get the floor plan. Your Aunt must be impressed."

Emma sighs. "I haven't told her yet."

"Why not?"

If Emma responds I don't hear it. I tear away from the wall and try to blink back the tears that have started to form in my eyes. I can't believe it. My parents had the right to be worried. This only confirms it.

I walk past the lockers where Jewels and Sue still stand. "Are you okay?" Jewels asks as I pass them.

I wave her off. "Totally fine!" But the minute a bathroom pops up in front of me I duck into it and head for a stall.

This can't be happening? Right? First Blake turned out to be the spy and used me to get to my parents and now Emma? I thought she was good. I thought she didn't care about their business and their stupid technology. But I guess I was wrong.

My heart feels like it's been ripped to pieces. I want to hurt her. But at the same time I want to talk it out with her. Convince her that she doesn't need to spy on us for whatever reason she is doing it for. But how could I possibly do that?

My mind flashes to those little moments we had together. Did those mean anything to her? Did they mean the same to her as they did to me? What about all the time I caught her staring? What was it for and did it mean anything? Or was it all just a part of her plan to spy on us? To get close to me to get close to my family?

What about the tour of my parents' work? Ugh. How did I not see it before? Her nervousness about getting a new chip, how she kept wanting and trying to follow Mother to the secret lab. How did I miss all the signs?

Because I was stupid for her. That's how.

"Sam?" Jewels voice floats to me.

I take a deep breath and open the stall door. Plastering a smile on my face I make my way to the sink. "Sorry. I just really had to use the bathroom."

She doesn't look like she believes me but doesn't question it either. Once I'm done washing and drying my hands I turn to her with a smile. I hope it says I'm okay instead of I'm so totally not okay.

"Um... what are you doing after school today?" she asks as we head out of the bathroom.

Ripping my heart out and keeping it in a safe where it can never be touched by anyone else, ever. "I'm having dinner with my parents."

She lifts an eyebrow.

I sigh. "They've actually been joining me and Jax for dinner lately since Emma showed up. It's super weird though since they hired a chef to cook? But I'm just having supper with the two of them tonight. Why?"

"I was going to see if you wanted to catch a movie tonight?"

I hum. I could. I'm sure after I tell my parents about Emma being a spy they'll want to do something about it. Stop her somehow. And I'm sure they know the best way to capture her which hopefully has nothing to do with me. If I'm going to a movie I don't have to be there to see any of the pain that'll be in Emma's gaze. Why would she feel pain anyways? She did this to herself, we're just the fools who didn't see it coming. "I'd love to go see a movie."

Jewels smiles. "Awesome. I'll pick you up around nine?"

"Sounds like a plan."

Taking a deep breath I stop into my parents office. Right now I'm glad they're staying home more so that I can do this and dip. I stand there as the door shuts behind me waiting for one of them to notice me.

It's my Father who looks up first. Something passes on his face too fast for me to catch it. Anger? Annoyance?

"Samantha, what do you need?"

I wrap my arms around me. "I discovered something about Emma," I whisper.

Mothers head whips up, her eyes wide. "What did you learn?"

Closing my eyes I take a deep breath. "Emma is a spy. She's here to learn about your new robot."
