This is crazy.
Conner dodged another blast of electricity from Nicole. Isabelle was standing nearby, she continued to search for an opening to attack but found none.

Doesn't Isabelle have powers? If she does why isn't she using them?!?!?

The charges of lightning stopped. Conner held his breath as the room went silent.

What just happened?

He looked over at Isabelle and noticed that she was standing right in the open, her eyes were fixed on a still Nicole.

"What are you doing?"
Conner looked over at Nicole, and then back at Nicole.
"I'm making her stop."
Isabelle's voice was strained with exaustion.

"You're what?"
"I've got her for now, go help Anthony!"
"But-"
"Now Conner!"

Conner grabbed his bow and ran towards the spot where Anthony had disappeared.

He noticed that the others were beginning to get up, none of them looked seriously injured.

Conner ran until he found Anthony on the floor, his body was shaking and he was crying out in pain.

"Anthony!"
Conner raced to his side and knelt down beside him.
"What happened? Are you okay?"

"Does it look like I'm okay?"
Anthony shouted.
"Right, stupid question."
Conner quickly scanned the room for any sign of Lucas, they seemed to be alone.

"Listen to me buddy, we've got Nicole, Steve and the others are fine and we'll all head back to the Avengers building and get you all patched up. Sound good?"

His only reply was another agonized scream.
Conner sighed and looked desperately down the hall for someone to come.

No matter what we plan Lucas is always one step ahead of us.
Conner looked down at Anthony's masked face.
Are we ever going to defeat him, or is he going to kill us all?

"What is it Maria?"
Cam knew as soon as he saw her face that something was wrong.
"We just got word from Steve."
She sat down in a chair beside his bed.
"Lucas got away again, and now Nicole's on his side. She almost killed Isabelle and Conner, and Anthony is injured."

Cam closed his eyes and let out a very long and very frustrated groan.

"First Jane and now Nicole? What about Del? What's she gonna do now? Nicole was supposed to take care of her! The only family she has left-"

Cam paused when he noticed Del standing outside of the open door. Her face was emotionless as she looked at them.

"Nicole joined Lucas."
It wasn't a question.
Cam wanted to say something to her, but he didn't know what he could possibly say to console her.

Without another word Del left.
Cam groaned once again.
"What do we do now Maria?"
She shook her head.
"I don't know Cam, I don't know."

Conner stood quietly while they flew back. Anthony was laying on the floor, clutching his stomach and continued to cry out in pain.

Isabelle was keeping Nicole under control, while the others stood in silence.

Lucas had gotten away again, he'd turned more of their own against them, something was wrong with Anthony, what else could go wrong?

"Conner."
Elizabeth walked over to him and put a hand on his shoulder.
"What is it?"
Conner noticed tears filling her eyes.

"While we were gone, Jane attacked the mansion, she killed three mutants."
Conner's heart starting pounding.

"She was attacking Annette, and Alexia tried to stop her."
Elizabeth looked down at her feet as she finally let her tears fall.
"What happened? Elizabeth!"

"Alexia got hit."
Steve said blankly.
He was done, he couldn't take it anymore. So much death, all because of one man.

Conner couldn't breathe.
Couldn't think.
Not Alexia, first Skyler and now-

"Is Sky alright?"
He looked up at Steve, waiting for an answer.
His only response was a dull look in Steve's eyes.

Conner almost fell over. They couldn't be dead. They just couldn't.
"Get me over there."

Steve said nothing as he piloted the jet towards the mansion.

"You've failed me twice Jane. Cameron and Annette are still alive, and all you've managed to do is kill everyone who is not a threat to me."

"I'm trying Lucas! I can't help it if-"
"Save your exscuses. I don't want to hear them."

Lucas glared at her as he continued.

"Listen to me Jane, I am giving you one more chance. If you fail me again I will kill you myself is that understood?"

Jane nodded.
"Who do you want me to kill?"
Lucas narrowed his eyes.
"As much as I enjoy playing these games, I must move on to other things. It's time to finish this once and for all."

He smiled as the final pieces of his plan were finally coming together.

It's time to take out their leader.

What is this? An update? After I said that I would be gone all month?

Well let me explain, let's just say that I have no idea what goes on in my house.

And that I decided to take a small break from Wattpad because I usually spend all of my freetime on here.

So anywho, expect your usualy updates unless something happens to change that!

Also, this story will be coming to a close in the not too distant future.

Can you believe it? It feels like forver since I started this thing.

But yeah, big boss fight is coming up VERY soon.

AND THEN I WILL BE DONE!
