"When I heard that I would get to train to join the Avengers..."

Jane muttered to herself.

"I thought that I would be training to fight evil."

She threw the broom she had been sweeping the floor with onto the floor.

"Not dust bunnies!"

Lyra nodded her head in agreement.

"Tell me about it. This is not what I had in mind when I was told that I would get to work for SHIELD."

Jane groaned in frustration.

"This is ridiculous. What on earth does sweeping have to do with helping me learn to use my powers?"

"What are your powers anyway?"

Lyra asked.

"I can control temperature, and I can pull water from the air and control it."

"That's so cool! I can turn invisible."

"Wait a minute, you have superpowers, but you joined SHIELD? Why not join the Avengers or another superhero team?"

Lyra shrugged.

"No idea. But I know of a couple of agents who have super powers."

"Huh. I guess not everyone is cut out for the superhero business."

Lyra nodded.

"Yeah, I think I'll be better off as an "unknown" to the world."

"I totally agree."

Both Jane and Lyra screamed as a voice suddenly came from behind them.

They turned around and saw a girl standing there.

"How long have you been standing there?!?!?"

Lyra shouted.

"For your whole conversation."
She replied.

She held out her hand.

"I'm Alexia."

Lyra shook it nervously.

"I'm Lyra, and this is Jane."

Jane shook her hand.

"How did you sneak up on us so quietly?"

"That's one of my superpowers. I can sneak up on anyone unseen and unheard."

Alexia smiled.

"That's why my nickname is 'The Hobbit.'"

"I love it!"

Another voice came from down the hall.

"You're Jane Orion right?"

Skyler asked.

Jane nodded.

"Yes, and you are?"

"Skyler Lynn. Or Soundwave. I'm an Avenger."

Lyra widened her eyes.

"You're an Avenger? Like, a full fledged member?"

Skyler nodded.

"Yup!"

"How old are you?"

"Sixteen why?"

Lyra looked over at Jane, and then back at Skyler.

"How-"

"I'd love to stay and chat, but I'm currently in some hot water at the moment."

Skyler glanced nervously down the hall.

"Steve's mad at me again. See ya guys later."

Before she left she turned to Alexia and said, "We need to hang out some time."

Alexia smiled as she left.

"She seems nice."

"How on earth is she an Avenger and I'm not?"

Jane asked.

"Are you training to be one?"

Alexia asked.

"Yes. What about you?"

"Nope. I'm a new SHIELD agent."

Alexia groaned.

"And I'm supposed to be taking out the trash..."

She walked away grumbling.

"This new rule is so stupid."

Lyra glanced at Jane.

"What should we do about this?"

"What any normal person would do."

Jane replied.

"What?"

"Go on strike."

Another newcomer appeared.

"What?"

Jane asked.

"Go on strike. Then they'll see reason!"

Conner smiled at them.

Lyra rolled her eyes.

"Fury and Tony wouldn't care if we went on strike. They would do absolutely nothing."

"You don't know that. So what so you say? Are you with me?"

"Sorry, no."

Jane replied.

Conner shrugged.

"Suit yourself."

He walked throwing his fist in the air and shouting.

"Strike! Strike! Strike!"

Jane watched him leave.

What did I sign up for?

Short chapter today! Sorry bout that! I have two more characters to introduce and I will do that in the next chapter!

I will try to get out two tomorow, just because you guys are all awesome and deserve it!

And if any of you have any  ideas for this, like something you want your character to do, let me know and I'll see what I can work out!
