"So, are you guys ready for this?"
Cam asked the people gathered around him.

"To be honest, no."
Maria replied loading some ammunition into her gun.

"I'm a nervous wreck."
Clint loaded his quiver onto his back.

"At least we got some backup."
Pietro walked over to them and joined in the conversation.
"By the way, Steve and the others are here."

The four of them got up and left the room. All around them were men and women preparing themselves for the battle.

Cam was nervous. No, he was beyond nervous. There was a very high chance of everyone dying.

"We'll be fine Cam."
"Do I look nervous Maria?"
"Your hands are shaking."
"There's a perfectly good reason why they are."
"Because you're nervous."
"No, I haven't had any pie in forever. It's messing me up."

Maria chuckled and took Cam's hand.
"We're both going to survive this Cam."

I hope so...

Everyone was gathered outside.

Waiting....

Any moment now Lucas would arrive, and the final fight would begin.

The Avengers weren't alone this time. The X-Men, Fantastic Four, SHIELD, and an assortment of heroes were gathered.

"Yeah, tried contacting the Guardians of the Galaxy.
No luck."
Cam sighed.

"I think we've got enough people here."
Steve looked over at the crowd of people.
He noticed that Cam seemed distracted.
"What's wrong Cam?"

"Nothing. I just thought that someone would be here."
"Who?"
Maria asked.
Before he could answer an explosion shook the ground and threw almost everyone off balance.

Cam looked up and saw Lucas, and a massive army behind him.

How dramatic.

The heroes stood fast, ready to fight. Cam glanced at Maria.
"Please be careful."
She smiled.
"I'll be fine."

Without another word Lucas raised his hand and his army surged forward. The heroes met them in a rush of power and fury.

The battle had begun.

"I don't care what Steve said. I'm going."
"Conner!"
Elizabeth grabbed his shoulder and stopped him from walking.

"I made up my mind Liz. I'm not staying here and doing nothing!"
"Before you interrupted me I was just going to say that I'm coming with you."

Conner stared at her in disbelief.
"Seriously?"
"Come on, do you really think that I'm sitting this one out?"
Conner smiled.
"Let's go then."

We're getting killed out here!

Anthony took out a soldier with his gun, quickly spun around, and shot another one in the head.

All around him heroes were battling desperately against the soldiers, which seemed to be even more powerful than before.

He caught sight of Natasha and Clint fighting side by side. Nearby Thor and Wolverine were taking out as many soldiers as they could.

Sue had made a force field around a group of injured SHIELD agents and was doing her best to keep the field up while Pietro tried to clear a path for the agents to get to safety.

In the air, Sam and Jonny were taking out as many airborne soldiers as they could.

Deadpool was taking out dozens of soldiers single handedly. At one point he stopped fighting and looked straight ahead at nothing.

"I honestly have no idea how I ended up in this fanfic. For one thing the person writing this knows almost nothing about my character. She hasn't read the Deadpool comics or seen the movie. The only thing she's seen me in is when I was in that one episode of Ultimate Spider-Man."

"What are you doing?"
Anthony asked in confusion.

"Nothing you'd understand Foxy. Although I will warn you I read ahead in this story and found out that- Whoops! I don't want to spoil anything for the readers. See ya later Foxy!"

With that Deadpool rejoined the fight, leaving Anthony very confused.

Readers? Story? What on earth?

Anthony dropped the subject for the time being. Grabbing his gun he rejoined the fight.

Deadpool's voice rang out above the noise.
"The climax of this story is coming in the next chapter! It's also going to be the longest and probably most depressing chapter yet! You have been warned!"

That guy is insane.
Anthony thought while he wondered what he meant by "depressing."

A/N

You guys heard Deadpool. The climax of this story is on its way and yes, it will be a loooooooooooooooooong chapter.

And I want to get it just right so I'm going to be spending a lot of time on it and I don't know when I'll have it out.

After the super long chapter there will probably be one left and possibly an epilogue.

And when this over? Well, I have an idea in mind but I'll have to wait and see what I plan on doing.
