"What do you mean she's not dead? I saw her vanish into thin air!"
Peter stared at Charles dumbfounded.

"Yes, she did "vanish" Peter. But she is not dead. Skyler is very much alive."

"Then where is she?"
Alexia looked around the room as if expecting to see Skyler appear out of nowhere.

"I do not know how to explain this, but Skyler has become "sound" and is unable to make herself into a visible form."

Charles sighed sadly.
"I can hear her thoughts. She is frustrated and trying everything to become visible again, but there is nothing she can do."

"So we're just going to leave her like this?"
Conner glared at the professor.
"I will do whatever I can to help Skyler. While I do that the rest of you need to prepare yourselves for Lucas. I believe that he plans on attacking very soon."

"And this one will be the last."
Anthony spoke up and everyone's attention turned to him.
"This fight is going to end with either Lucas dead, or all of us. He wants to finish us off now before we get too powerful for him."

I doubt he sees us as a threat. He's already taken out most of us.
Annette thought grimly.

"It's settled then."
Steve announced.
"We'll head back and get everyone ready to fight."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Conner placed a hand on Alexia's shoulder.
"Alexia-"
"I know. I'm staying here."
She smiled at him.
"Go get him."

Conner smiled and followed the others out of the room.
Alexia sighed when it was just her, Peter, and Charles.

She noticed that Peter seemed to be nervous about something. Charles turned to him and said, "Do what you have to Peter."

He nodded his head at the professor and disappeared out the door.

"Where's he going?"
Alexia asked in confusion.
"He's going to do what he can to help."

Nicole paced back in forth in the room she was in. There were no windows, only a small light that hung from the ceiling.

She still couldn't believe Isabelle had managed to control her like that. Nicole groaned in frustration and shot out a bolt of electricity.

She heard her door open and in walked Isabelle.
"What do you want?"
Nicole snapped.
"Listen Nicole. I don't know why you joined Lucas, or trust him, but I do know that you're well aware that he's crazy."

Nicole didn't answer and turned away from her.
"Is it because of Del?"
"Shut up."
"I know you're trying to protect her Nicole, but trust me this isn't the way to do it."

Isabelle sighed and decided to get to the point.
"Come fight with us Nicole. We can defeat Lucas and stop this whole thing for good. Isn't that better than fighting for him?"

Nicole went silent. Isabelle shook her head and turned to leave. Something hit her from behind, knocking her onto the floor.

"Sorry Isabelle."
Nicole stood over her, electricity crakling between her hands.
"But I make my own choices."

"So what's the plan?"
Conner asked running up to Steve. He still hadn't gotten used to not having powers, the sooner he got them back the better.

"We wait for Lucas to show himself, and then we take him out."
Steve answered.
"Or die trying."

Aren't you a ray of sunshine?

"Steve!"
They turned and saw Thor and Loki walking towards them.
"What is it?"
"Nicole escaped, and she killed Isabelle."

Conner couldn't believe it. Nicole had killed Isabelle? They had just been fighting togther against Nicole and now she was dead?

The other's couldn't take it in either. How many more of their friends were going to die before this was over?

Steve closed his eyes and clenched his hands into fist, he was done.
Done with Lucas, done with losing anyone else.

"Elizabeth, go find someone to help bury Isabelle. We're not going to leave her body lying on the floor."

"So you're leaving without me?"
Elizabeth narrowed her eyes.
"I can't lose you too Elizabeth. I need you to stay here with Conner."

"Wait what? You can't leave me here!"
"You're both staying here and that's final!"

Conner shrank back and glanced at Elizabeth. He'd seen Steve mad before but not this mad.

Turning to the others he announced, "We're going."

Without another word the left. Leaving Elizabeth and Conner behind them.

A/N

Hello! It's me again! So yeah, just one more chapter is left before the big final battle!

And, this is probably just me worrying, but I'm getting the feeling that the story isn't going as well as it was when I started out.

I don't know, is it just me or is there something I'm doing that's kinda half-a-sorta ruining the story? Or making not as exciting as it used to be?

I don't know. Usually when I get to this point in a chatroom I start to get paranoid that I'm messing it up somehow. So anyway let me know what you guys have been thinking about the story lately and I will talk to y'all later.
