Alright.

It's 2 AM,

I'm feeling loopy

I have a really good sandwich,

Let's do this.

|The Common decency rant|

A while back in December, My school had a talent show.

And .... well.... it was kinda cool.

Nothing to get too excited over,

But meh.

And we actually had a few diverse talents...

Singing.

Dancing/gymnastics

And playing instruments

......

......

Yeah.

Anyways,

My personal favorite was all of the dancers/gymnasts

I couldn't help but stare at them in awe as they leaped gracefully across the stage. Their movements... were.... so fluid and amazing! It was such an amazing expression of talent!

But.

However.

Not all of us felt that way.

The majority of the dancers were girls,

With one exception being two guys who were lit.

Anyways,

Anyways,

Anyways,

Anytime a girl leaped, stretching her legs, Or did the splits, or even if her skirt flipped up as she did cartwheels and backflips

The guys would holler and whistle.

Every. Single. Time.
....

They did that with every dancing act that involved a girl...

(But Madison! #NotAllGuys---)

{I'm aware of that. I'm not talking about you. I just thought that the catcalls were awfully loud and there was a pretty big group doing them}

[In no way, shape or fashion am I trying to say all males are like this. No no no, I'm just talking about a select group of males who think they could do this sort of thing.]

(I really am trying to bring this problem to light, Please, If you are from my school and did not whistle or holler, Do not take offense to what I say to the males that did)

And

It just makes me mad!

I was ashamed of the guys.

I really was.

I lost the respect I had for the some of the males at my school

What they did that day was unacceptable.

To think.... they didn't care about the talent that was presented in front of them.

They didn't care about the creative and poetic elements in the routine.

They didn't care about the immense courage it took to perform in front of hundreds of students.

No.

They only cared that there was a female body up there, and that they were getting a show from it.

It made me mad,

That they couldn't even look past the body to see what emotion was expressed behind the routine.

And... that's not the worst part

During lunch,

We all got in trouble.

We all got lectured

And

We all got punished.

Not just the males who did the hollering, But the males that had the decency to not completely loose their respect for the female body and the females.

..... See....

That's one thing that's wrong with society these days.

It makes it somewhat acceptable that this behavior is okay.

IT IS NOT OKAY!

US, AS WOMEN, AS HUMAN BEINGS

WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT!

OUR BODIES ARE NOT JUST SOMEONE'S SHOW,

WE ARE PEOPLE.

WE HAVE TALENT, WE ARE SMART, WE CAN EXPRESS PASSION.

WE WANT TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY

WE ARE NOT OBJECTS USED TO BE USED SOLELY FOR ENTERTAINMENT!

*Ahem*

And that does it for this rant.

Guys, I warned you in 2016,

I'm speaking up.

I'm going to rant about everything that's wrong about society... and hopefully... fix a few things.

But I am actually getting pretty sleepy.

Goodnight, Brudunskies

Peace

(See. I'm always a little unsure whether or not to post these rants. I never know if I get my point across.)
